whatever you think but about every two months i enter the country and very seldom do i see another american do anything other than walk through. yes i know that some get screened but it is a very small percentage. i think it depends on if the officer got laid the night before. maybe i always get the ones who's wife's fuck the shit out of them the night before.

if you have been pulled out of line several times there is something in the computer that tells them you are a bad boy. maybe they know you from here, lol? if your name was muhammad abdul with a huge box full of unexplained electronics i am sure you would pass right through but if you look normal and they think you might have a picture in your digital camera that would offend some holy roller that would be terrible. this country makes me want to fucking puke.

just like the new law they passed where they can prosecute you for having sex with **** girls in other countries. i think ****s should be castrated but if a man goes to a country and has sex with a girl that is 16 or 17 (which is legal in many countries) and then they can arrest you for it here? that is just fucked up. the united states has no jurisdiction in these other countries.

I, too, am an American citizen, born and bred. These fuckwads in ICE have a stick up their asses. My instances totalled 13 straight "secondary" searches in 2006, stateside before being allowed to "officially" enter the USA. I called out one asshole (he really was) directly in front of his supervisor one time, but dude was being a complete ass.

Then, I pulled out my official note from Washington DC, their end-all, be-all response to those pricks behind the glass. Basically stating national security bullshit, and apologies for the inconvenience, yada yada yada, but that I shouldn't be harrassed anymore. It was also notated in their system.

Haven't been bothered now going on 7+ international trips this year alone. Maybe I should knock on wood. It did take about 3-4 months, but resolved eventually. Score one for the American citizen who fights back, rather than take it up the ass.

Hola guys I am from Cartagena and I still here in this city. Well I read all the reports and one part of me say wow is god I'm glad this guys can see the real world, and other side of me say fuck this guys what I can say to thems theys just are talking shit or theys want to the people don't visit more Colombia (Cartagena) but guys I'm not are a prostitue but I know many because I love the musik electronik and in the disco where in Cartagena listen that musik is in the putas disco, and I am living in bocagrande the place where is the turist people. I understand some girls, why theys do that job, and sometimes you understand and you agree with thems.

So. I want say to winner71, I'm sorry for that girl ask you for money and she used a excuses is a big one, but I hope you not are so stupid for sent the money to her. Also the most girlsare working in Cartagena not are from this city are from Medellin o Cali o Bogota. Think in that.

Katherin I understand your frustration. I have been traveling internationally for 15 years and only one time ever have I been held up, maybe 30 minutes returing from Costa Rica. My travels have been to many suspect places too, Nigeria, Angola, Ivory Coast, Cameroon, Colombia, Qatar, Abu Dhabi, ect. Unless a drug dog singles an American out returning less than .001% get held up. My wife is from Cartagena and the day she arrived in the United States she had a valid K-1 visa. Her flight arrived in Miami at 5:50 and she did not get through immigration until 1:00 a.m. Spent her first night in the United States sleeping in the fucking airport. It's in the US where I have missed my planes. It's pretty difficult to miss an International flgiht out of Colombia as they rarely leave on time. I don't think they'd leave anyone, they do a pretty good job of making sure everyone has passed through all the required points and are ready to go.

Same shit hapen to me all the time, ither for Bussines or plesure, one time I was hold up 4 hours in denver Airport, Just to many entrance to the USA from Cancun, or Merida. They fund 3 or 4 diferent bussines cards from Colombian Hotels, and from other people, Fuck was pain in the neck, but, a gain my cooless. And for all the Questions they ask me I did answer whit a smile in my face, they ask the same question 3 or 4 times, after 4 or 5 smiles they tookme to a room whit a INS supervisor, and 3 more officials, same cuestions, After 4 hours, they let me go.

Airport security is a joke anyway, it is just another way for them to fuck with you. There are no bombs. Just a few more of our liberties that the Bush assministration (I know how to spell administration) have found a way to remove. We know that they do not care about illegal immigration. I guess if you have the class to arrive in the country by airplane that throws up a red flag but if you swim the river, "Come on in".

Ok here is my input. I too have been singled out like this. Do not accept it, but never be rude. Here is what to do. You kindly let them know that your plane is leaving SOON and show the nearest Police/Military guy your ticket with some pesos behind it,and let them know that you cannot miss the plane and then when they help you get through the lines after they have thoroughly searched your bags, tip them 10-20k cop for helping you. They will even get you through colombian customs faster. Trust me I have done this 2x in Bogota. They really do just want to be safe, and also help. Especially when you tip. dont hesitate to ask for their cell # for the next time you are passing through their airport just in case. Seriously. Always get numbers of anyone who helps you for any reason. Taxis, bartenders, Police, Militar, hotels, providers,whatever. Just like Networking in the U.S. Just good advise anywhere.

What is your point? Do you not think that us gringos are not sometimes taken aside and held for hours and hours upon entry back into the states? Not only coming back from Colombia can it happen. It can happen from coming into the US from anywhere. They can do it to anyone that they want. I've missed planes over it. I'd rather allow them to do it and miss my plane over the alternative. Which is they don't do it to anyone and then we start seeing bombs go off. It is random, you weren't being singled out for being Colombian. Or maybe you were, but in the end no harm done, right?

Plus, what if I told you that the last 3 times I have flown from Cali back to the US, I have had my bags searched and double searched and then searched again.... and then I'm the chosen one that they take aside and go make me be X-rayed. Do I complain? Nope. I know they are doing their job and ultimately it makes the world a better place.

Hey a friend of mine who has visited CTG advised me not pay for any properties until I get there. He said that you can get into an taxi and they take you to all the available rental homes that they know of. Would anyone recommend finding a place to stay like that? I just do not want to waste a day searching for a place to stay you know.

I heard alot of these guys can scam you. I gave Juan a deposit and never had a problem with him.
