Those were great answers. You forgot to note that one important skill brazilking should have is learning Quechua language which is the main language spoken by paisas and all Colombians. He should spend at least 5 years learning Quechua before going to Colombia or he will be confused with a lost gringo who Colombians love to kidnap, rob, kill, cut in little pieces, and cook them for their meals.

Ehhh, I would pick either or if I were you. Whichever you don't pick this time, go next time. Then you can do a day trip to the place you go to this time. The logic is. The more familiar you are, the more efficient you'll be at mongering there. I'm more familiar with Bogota than Medellin, so I'd do a day trip to Bogota and know exactly what to do. For me, a day trip to Medellin would require a lot of planning and maybe a wingman on the ground. I think once you try Medellin, you'll be satisfied enough. Besides, half the girls you'll meet in Bogota are from Medellin! The other half are from Cali. Whatever choice you make, you'll have fun! Have your fill bro!

What he said. This most recent incident with the Dane was probably a deal gone bad, or an argument over who owed what to whom. That's why it's not a good idea for non-locals to get their party favors direct from the dealers. Better to develop a local friend or two who you could sorta trust to do the buys for you, even if it costs a bit more that way as you usually end up buying their weed or blow as well. The minute a dealer down there makes contact with a foreign client, he's already starting to think about the angles, what kind of money this guy has, what can I get / squeeze from him. It's just not smart.

I agree and that's what happened to Noah Goldberg who some of you may remember as well. Buy your stuff at the super cheap retail places one of which we take you by on our day tour. Owing money will get you killed here relatively quickly! Its the difference between $50 and $68 dollars. Medellin is one of the cheapest mongering destinations in the Americas. If $18 more is going to bust your budget, you should consider a new line of employment.

The answers to almost every one of your questions can be found by RTFF Most have been answered in the past few months.

What airport you should fly into depends on where in Colombia you want to visit. If your destination is Medellin, fly into the Medellin airport, if you're wanting to see Bogota, choose the Bogota airport. I'll leave it up to you to figure out how to get to Cali or Cartagena.

Where you should stay depends on many things, like which airport you fly into. It also depends on your comfort level, Spanish knowledge and the amount of research you're willing to do.

I'm not the penny pinching guy when I'm on vacation. But this comment is just wrong in my opinion. I had 31 sessions on my last trip, that makes that $18 turn into $558. $558 would end up being about 1/8 of the total amount I spent, so an $18 difference for a session can add up quickly. I'm just saying.

Some girls will go for 150 K easily, others are asking for 200 K. If its one you want to bang, go for it. You might regret missing a super buena chica over a few bucks. I personally mix it up between casas and independents. If you only go a few times a year, don't get wrapped around the axle over beating down the price. Just go and enjoy.

If you are on a small pension or live down there, of course you should do bargain hunting.

I beat you as I had 32 sessions on my last visit to Medellin but because of my good looks, great conversational skills, and charm I paid a big zero! Some guys have it and some don't. If fact a few of the ladies offered me money because of the great service I provided them!
