Anyone knows what are the best rate ATMs to pull money from? Arriving tomorrow and my friends down there tell me that the exchange places have the lousiest rates at the moment. Any intel is appreciated!!

For me they are all the same, exactly the same. My home bank determines the exchange rate. The difference is whether they charge an ATM fee at the bank there that I am withdrawing the money from.

Something random but something that weighed on me last night. The level of poverty here is no joke for example this lady.

We are all here to have fun. I ask you all to take a step back, observe your surroundings, and support the local small vendors in any way you can. Buying them a beer or a drink while they waiting around on you goes a a long way.

Supposedly the GI tracts of the Vennies are loaded with it. If you're not familiar with the world's number one human parasite then work on your University of Google degree and look it up, jajaja. Except I don't call Giardia a parasite anymore. Giardia is so ubiquitous, it is commensal, after you have cleared it once from your body once, in my not so humble opinion. Back to matters at hand, I am seeing a trend of Venezuelans coming back to Medellin to roost in Plaza Botero. Two of them I've known a couple of years came back after giving birth and realizing that although the economy is improved in Venezuela it hasn't improved enough to support a new mouth to feed. A third one, who was fresh off a four-day bus trip from Caracas, told me they find it easier to get Colombia immigration documents under the "Andino" program. My head is still spinning about the idea of four days on a cramped bus with a months old infant and limited resources to get food.

A few guys felt compelled to diss my mongering that gorgeous one-in-ten-thousand preggo maybe because I entitled the post, "Scored One for the Team" and they want to make sure we all know, they are not on that team, jajajaja. Catgirl, my perennial Numero Uno Novia and the reason I am here and alive, is spending my last two nights in Medellin with me. At the moment, she is out at the building site of our city house in San Cristobal. Compared to our build on the mountaintop three hours north of here, this construction is progressing at lightening speed. We are putting in eleven columns on our hilly lot to make a level foundation. Two stories, including a garage. Two bathrooms, I am pushing for three. Six rooms.

I sent lunch out with Catgirl to all the workers, five on site at the moment, mostly her family including her dad and two of her brothers. I am getting a great rate on the labor. Realistically, when I return for my next trip it could be finished but one never know how that goes. The first story we are building custom, the second floor with be prefab.
