Yeah, the banks got me the first trip in Latin America. It's so confusing that it makes you think that if you don't accept, then you are not getting pesos. I have learned from my mistakes and now always decline the conversion and still get my pesos as you noted.

For me they are all the same, exactly the same. My home bank determines the exchange rate. The difference is whether they charge an ATM fee at the bank there that I am withdrawing the money from.

I understand it the exchange rate is determined by the card issuer (I. E. Typically Visa, Mastercard for Americans), not the bank. As long as you go where transaction fees are lowest (or use Schwab, CapitalOne) and decline the conversion fee they should all end up nearly the same on a given day.

Yes, but this is very tricky. If you use 'interesado / a' with ser, it means gold digger. Say you ask me what I think about the woman you are seeing and I say 'Creo que es interesada. ' I think she is a gold digger. But if you use 'interesado / a' with estar, it translates literally to interested. Thus if my reply to your question about your woman was instead 'Creo que est interesada,' I am saying I think she digs you.

So be careful with 'interesado' and watch your verb.

Very nice to see the distinction between "ser interesado / a" and "estar interesado / a" explained. Differences when using "ser" versus "estar" and how that changes the meaning of the other verb that is used with it are something we don't have in English and lead to a lot of miscommunication for people trying to learn Spanish.

My original post is not a response to the poster. Use your analogy, from my point of view, I think the poster did not get the same beer. It is not as good for most people because it is missing an ingredient, BBBJ in this case. He said the beer is good but did notice the missing ingredient.

I use a laptop cable lock. But the airport security always checks my carry on because they don't know what the cable is. The TV can hookup streaming stick like roku and you can just use TV for that.
