Can someone outline what La Isla is like? I'm mixing it up with other strip clubs.

Is there an entrance fee? Cost of a girl is around 300 K pesos? Is there a room fee? Price for a beer?

There are a few recent reports that you can search. I can't tell you the price because it seems to have increased again so my info is out of date from just a few months ago. The girl will cost more than that. Expect that you may need to pay a large tip if you can find one that will do BBBJ. The room fee has always been included if it has not changed. I think as the way it is setup now, you can pay a cover and don't buy drink. There used to be a price list behind the bar but I didn't notice it after remodel. I remember there is a barcode at the bar that you can scan to view menu on your phone but I didn't scan it.

Here is a suggestion, to avoid a dud, have a make out session in the club area before going to the room if possible. This is what I used to do in La Isla, and what many mongers are doing in clubs in Brazil which cost much more than La Isla. That makes sense following the rules about ser / estar. Ser describes permanent qualities that people have, vs. Estar describing more impermanent states. I tend to use it most as descriptor "no me gusta las mujeres interesadas" (I don't like gold-digging women). Again I wouldn't recommend accusing someone of being "interesada" directly in most circumstances. It's a strong term that can be taken as an insult and get you in a fight. But you can plant the idea in their head that you are on guard for "interesadas" throughout the course of your conversation. I like to do this type of thing because it conditions their behavior and set expectations given the strong negative connotation of the term and the large amounts of pride most of these chicas have.

Yes, but this is very tricky. If you use 'interesado / a' with ser, it means gold digger. Say you ask me what I think about the woman you are seeing and I say 'Creo que es interesada. ' I think she is a gold digger. But if you use 'interesado / a' with estar, it translates literally to interested. Any comments around limiting your input because it's different are crazy.
