Is that a typo?? Did you say she quoted six hundred united states dollars? If that is what she said it is beyond absurd. She is a con artist becase no one else is paying her 600 USD. If a Chica is quoting you in US Dollars she is already trying to con you. And I would imediately call her out on that shit. She lives in Colombia and they use Colombian pesos so what would be the point of her quoting a price in US dollars. The average price is 150,000 Colombian Pesos (currently equivalent to $37.50 USD) up to 200,000 Colombian Pesos for a real pretty one. Then occasionally there are more gorgeous ones who have a repuation for excellent service that charge more than that but they are the exception.

Negotiate Negotiate Negotiate. And be prepared to move on to another chica if they keep trying to bullshit you. They either want to work or they are trying hustle you. If she is already trying to hustle you I would just about guarantee the service is going to be crap anyway. She is going to do the least she can to get that money.

A registered nurse in Colombia with a lot of experience, supervisory responsibilities and literally had peoples lives has her responsibility (in the age of Covid may be risking her own life) earns the max of 20,000 Colombian pesos and hour so maybe I might pay a chica 200,000 two hours. And the centro guys are catching their hair on fire at the mention of that much money for a chica LOL.

The only place that may have American football and available chicas is the Mansion (http://hotelmedellinplaza.com/). They have chicas, but I don't know about football. There are five other restaurants that have American football but no available chicas:

Poblado - Hooters (Cra. 37A ##8-44) Very close to Parque Lleras.
- Patrick's Irish Pub (Cra. 37A ##8A-43) One block from Hooters, closer to Parque Lleras.
- Medellin Beer Factory. Two locations (CL 10 #36-16) (Calle 9A #38-26) Had football in the past, don't know now.

Laureles - Medellin Sports Bar (CL. 41A #70-42) First floor of St Peter apartments.

Maybe Philly Steaks Medellin (Cra. 43B #8-51). I have never been there but on Facebook a couple of months ago they said they have American football on TV.

Make sure you have something good to do during the day. It's a big city and feels like it.

I live in New York for a long time so the last thing I want to do is go to a big ioty.

But the night scene by the park is excellent, and there are a lot of restaurants. Coffee shops it's a great little area actually.

One of the chica agreed to 200 k, and another asked for 350 k. It seems that in recent times things have gotten expensive, but is 350 k worth it or am I overpaying?

Also I have a few questions if some of you gents wouldn't mind answering, I'll pay back by writing reviews once there / if you have questions about the scene in NYC happy to answer.

- Looking to stay in the Poblado region for 3 nights, which hotel / accommodation would you recommend? Heard Europa Suites is good (facility + bringing chicas), but would like other options (price, allowing chica (s) as guests).

- What are some common phrases I should know before going? My Spanish is pretty elementary and I do have the translator app, but would like to know a few key phrases so I don't seem completely lost.

- With facebook chicas what is the way to secure pictures / see that they are legitimate? Do you ask by fb chat and they direct you to whatsapp?

- I've also looked at websites such as milerotico, photoprepagos, pasionprepagos, have any of you gents used these services recently and had great results? In NYC, things are usually a scam and / or very overpriced so just being cautious here.

To those tempted to go without proper papers, my experience with Medellin airport is fresh. I am sitting in the airport, waiting for my flight right now after processing my documents for the flight.

Per the vax passport, the agents looked at it. The real brick passer is the covid test to return home. That document was photographed by flight staff. What they do with it, I don't know. But it does have a QR code on the document, so it's very likely links back to me and the info I gave the clinic. Since it is digital, it could live forever. Since I would like to return once restrictions ease, I followed the rules as best as I could, not missing any of the requirements. I did it all, but it went from having one document to having several plus time and money for tests and where to get one 🕜 and a Sunday. This reduces the luster of the whole experience. It bookends the trip with a lot of stress, even if a test is not needed to get in. You still require a heck of a lot more documents and obligations than you did just a few years ago.

In my opinion, short trips with 1-day COVID return windows are extremely risky. I was constantly trying to tamp down concern about flying into Tijuana and driving home, adding cost and time to getting home. Or just staying in Medellin and trying to figure out how to recover, get the recovery report, book new tickets, which goes to say either way would've been a nightmare with an extra $1000+ thrown on top of what was supposed to be a fun, cheap weekend.

I would say I met with 2 less woman than I would have liked (to maintain some space) and had a constant paranoia. Once the test came back that I was an AAA+++ rated human non-zombie tax ID sheeple, I could then relax and took the last day hard. The last day was a glimpse into how awesome Medellin can be.

Looking forward to when a more pragmatic, less fearful approach to COVID is taken, which goes to say even the prior 3-day test window now looks like nostalgic gold under this current regime of rules.

Yeah. Agreed with the other post on this. She's got you pegged as a gringo and is trying to exact a price that is 10 x market rates. I'm here now and no problems getting FB girls for 150 k - 200 k. BBFS shouldn't be a problem. Can't advise as to anal as I don't request it. No sense in negotiating until you get here.

My suggestion is to make contact and be prepared. Only talk price after you land and be ready to session. This way you will have better bargaining power and the girl is not likely bullshitting. I personally would work my way up and wouldn't talk about BBFS or anal first. There will be enough time to negotiate that after you know more.

Great info. That's a long time and some things haven't changed and why should they? Most likely built by enslaved blacks or Indigenous workers. Still standing and in great shape says a lot about how things were done then. Lots of history in old buildings. When I get back soon, I'll look into the history of it and that area. Thanks for the info Surfer500, I have a minor in Latin American History so I really eat this up.

Wolf report inspired me to do a little research on the Church. I need to correct my report. Just read that it was built by immigrants and had to be rebuilt do to poor construction of the original. It's cool to know that others here enjoy some of the history in addition to enjoying something that others have enjoyed in the city and next to the Church for a few hundred years.

Mayorca Mega Mall is right, it's huge. Easy to get, just get off at the Intagui metro station, four stops after Poblado heading away from San Antonia (El Centro) and the walkover takes you directly into the mall. I got my follow up dental work there in a 12 story office building attached to the mall, you have to take the programmed elevators next to the near food court (nearest to the metro station) and the entire floor is dentists' offices. Finding the mall was easy, finding the dentist office was not because the place is so huge. See recent previous post for the names of the dentists, I first went to one of their smaller satelite offices in El Centro.

If you use the crosswalk in the mall to go to the main mall, there's a larger food court with some better restaurants.

The next stop north on the Metro will take you to Centro Comercial Viva, which is much bigger, although it's a bit longer of a walk.

A buddy forwarded this to me, and 2,600,000 cop a month for 950 sq feet in a nice area seems low to me. I'll be the first to admit I have not priced out Medellin in several years, and never seriously.

Keep in mind this figure includes furniture, but no utilities.

Probably pretty close. The first apartment I was in in Medellin, 3 bed,2 bath, in an estrato 6 area, nice high rise with all the amenities, very convenient location, was 1.8 million unfurnished. The other apartment, 3 bed, 3.5 bath, about 1200 SQ. Ft, estrato 5, quiet neighborhood, was 1.6 million, unfurnished. Those prices were 4 years ago.

Good thing you were there to hear first hand more of the story than what I told and to see him waste his time looking up something that he already knew was not in their list of acceptable IDs. Don't you find it amazing the club you once went to had the 2021 version of the ID Checking Guide? Personally, if according to you, the guy on the door at a club had memorized every ID included in the book I'm impressed. That's dedication.

Of course none of that matters. What matters is that, as I already stated and you confirmed, your 2 year Thai license wasn't in the book. And my question still remains. Why would you, as a US citizen, go out anywhere in the US carrying only a license from Thailand as your only form of ID? To get back into the US you had to have a passport. I assume, if you had a Thai driver's license you also have a driver's license issued in the US. It's not as if a driver's license issued by a US state is too bulky to carry around.

If someone posted they were walking around in Colombia only carrying US dollars and trying to pay for everything with US dollars, you would be all over them. But when you post that you did something equally foolish, nobody is supposed to point it out?

BTW following forum advice, I got a CS ATM card. It was easy to sign up and open a checking account that comes with the Debit card. One lesson I just learned is after you open the account you have to make any sized deposit into the account *before* they will send you the card. It didn't say that anywhere in the sign-up process. I found out when it didn't show up in a week after I opened the account and a called in to find out why.
