With all due respect to Aussie Greg and The Mansion, but I would have to agree with Rainman here, and say NEVER, EVER bring a date back there.

I would highly recommend against ever bringing any regular Paisas to either The Mansion and/or El Castillo. I stayed at El Castillo and there were two guys running around the halls yelling, "*****s, *****s, where are you? " There were also a few guys who would walk out to the kitchen with a small towel wrapped around their waste, this does not look good if you bring a date back, especially at 1:00pm in the afternoon.

Also, many guys have NO RESPECT and will approach your date, check her out before asking you, or her, how much? The mentality there seems to be that "everyone is fair game. "

If you are a complete newbie in MDE, just there for the P$P scene, than I would highly recommend staying at The Mansion, otherwise I would suggest staying at ClubVIP Hotel or La Casa Medellin. I stayed at both hotels on my last trip and was happy to see it was not full of mongers, both hotels had a great mix of guests.

I, for one, can not spend all day talking about how much pussy costs, how many chicas I scored with, and so on. Some guys have no freakin' personality and "normal life' outside of mongering, not the type of people I want to be associating with while on vacation.

There are so many great locally owned hotels, but it would require some Espanol on your part.

You also have the option of renting an apartment. There's always another gringo or two looking for an extra roomate. This is another great way to team up with a wingman to watch each others backs while hitting the streets.

If you find yourself a local driver, many available, who speaks English, and has a list of Prepagos to send over to your apartment, than you're all set to have the best of both worlds. Hit the casas all day, in the evening spend time with a regular Paisa, when she goes home, you can hit the clubs at night.

Overall, if you're looking to meet normal Paisas, why subject them to a mongering enviorment?

What are the benefits of staying at the Mansion or VIP?

What is the Purpose?

If already traveling with a wing man, both of whom are quite capable of doing well with non-pros.( no need for being hand held). And being able to rent a 2 bedroom luxury apt. for half of the price of 2 rooms at the Mansion. Why would one still desire to stay at the Mansion or VIP?

Feedback and explanations of the pros and cons from those who have experienced both would be greatly appreciated!

Capable of doing well with non-pros. I will guess that you guys are goodlooking and speak spanish. For some reason these type of guys don't do well here. Maybe they don't understand the cultural needs of the Colombian girl. You want to sleep with them and they think of you as a future husband/boyfriend and don't want you to think they are a ****. If you are here a short time it usually doesn't work out as good as you want. High quality girls can be stuck up.

Hand held. This is called getting good service. You will get alot of info on where are the current best places to go. Free tours from me. Who will rip you off. Great time saver. Tons of semi-pros you will find no where else at the Sunday poolparty.

I think its a little over the top. I plan on having some non pros come into my room. No need to wait outside rooms trying to get sloppy seconds. There is not a sign on the front of the mansion that says 'hookers only'.

I am debating attempting to get a room at the mansion or just staying at hotel. How famous, (or should I say imfamous), is the mansion in Medellin to the locals? It sounds like the place to stay for P4P in Medellin. However, If I met some non pro local ladies in town, on amigos, or elsewhere, and they discover I am staying at the mansion, would they immediately assume I am in town for P4P and mongering or would they just think it is was one of many nice places to stay in the city? Is the mansion extremely well known to the local talent as a place where mongers stay for P4P or is the Mansion somewhat of a mystery to the local ladies outside of the P4P mongering scene?

If I picked up some local lady who had never heard of the mansion and took her back to the Mansion with me, when we entered the place, would she immediately know what kind of place it is by the decor and the activities going on in plain view, or is the decor and common areas of the place discreet enough to hide the obvious mongering intent of myself, and probably most of the other guests staying there?

Just curious if staying at the mansion would eliminate all possibilities of picking up non pro local ladies and restrict me to the P4P scene, which is my primary goal anyway, but a local or two from a mall or night club might be a nice change if it is a possibility.

I agree with the Rainman's advice on this subject, however, a stay at the CASTILLO, the sister hotel of the Mansion is much more subtle and layed back.

Of course you could get along fine staying at a private apartment or another hotel, especially if you speak espanol, but staying at a place like the CASTILLO or VIP, etc gives a first time visitor a lot of good info and contacts.

IMO it would be hard to cover up or explain away the "goings on" at the Mansion to a local but at El Castillo it's possible. I'd just tell em it's a slightly upscale pension with full services that you heard about through your network.

The MM is fairly notorious for what goes on there. In the event that you were to get friendly w/ a sweet Paisita non pro who was not knowledgable about the MM you would still have to be concerned about the hardpartying mongers who call la mansion their "home away from home".

I would recommend other accomadations if you have any plans to woo non pros on your trip. If you can speak OK Spanish and have any game at all there are numerous interested and friendly chicas once you get your as out of Poblado. In El Poblado you have many beautiful chicas but you also have the "Princessa" attitude.

IMHO, if you can get by with your Espanol and do not require alot of handholding than just rent a room in a private apt. or get a room in the E.C. or Vips. Many of the guests at the MM will show little courtesy or respect for any chica you dare to bring there. This is regardless of whether or not she is pro or non pro.
