Before I make a trip down to Medallo or anywhere south of the border I always go back 6 months of threads and skim / read everyone of them. Problem here is that there are so many posts! Been working two weeks and now just up to page 100.99 more to go.

Anyways every so many posts hear about issues with chicas on their periods. Hey it happens to everyone of them thinking 5 out of every 30 days unless they are past meno. Happened to me once in the DR from a SW and once in Cali from Dr. Amor's. Is not a big money issue for me to have them suck or hand me off but is a big turnoff and time lost to me especially when they are out openly marketing themselves.

Please how do I politely inquire if they are on their periods in Spanish? Estas in su sangre? Temporada? Tiene sangre de vagina? Estas in su ciclo?

I do like to DATY but need to know beforehand.

Period in Spanish is "regla". You can ask. "No tienes tu regla ahora mismo verdad?" You are not on your period right now, right? "Periodo menstrual" will be understood too.

For those who are in Colombia or will be flying into or out of, or anywhere within the Colombia next Thursday, there will be a nationwide strike going on within the Country this day which includes the air traffic controllers, truckers, and many others all across the Country. From the Colombians I have spoken with, it may be a day of violence with predictions of over a million protesters in Bogota, and maybe as many as 100,000 in Medellin. Apparently the main protest location in Medellin will be taking place in "EL Centro" in and around the government buildings. There also may be disruptions at other spots in the City, such as the Metro stations by the protesters. I don't know much more than this and have been told to be very careful around town on this day. Think in terms of what has happened in other South American countries lately, as this day of protest may have some similarities to what has occurred elsewhere. I'm not fluid in Spanish but to turn that into a question would look something like this "que son con la visita que las visitas de mujeres cada mes?" Are you with the visit the visit that visits women every month.

Interesting translations to say the least, and sounds like a good Chica to let you know beforehand in case you wanted to cancel. I think they have a very common saying, or "dicho" in Spanish for saying "I am on the rag". I have heard Chicas tell me "tengo me regla", but this translates in English to, "I have my rule".

Maybe some of our expert Spanish speakers on this board know the saying, as your Chica's message seemed to beat around the Bush about her being on the rag, or maybe she thought you might better understand that she was on the rag by phrasing her message to you that way. However, as I am learning, some of the ways things are said here don't make any logical sense at all when you translate them.

What you don't want to hear is: "Aun no me ha llegado mi periodo menstrual." I will wait until the baby gets here in April to inform her that I can not have kids.

Think about how it would be said in sensible English instead of just literal word for word translation. "I have my monthly visitor" is how it would be said in English.

But clearly just using the word menustration or period, even in garbled Spanish, should make sense to the Chicas.
