The ATM offered withdrawal selections of 1,540,000 and 2,000,000 COP. In the past the max was always 400,000 in Medellin, Cucuta, Bogota, Cartagena, and my first month in Barranquilla. This is a huge jump. I chose 400,000 but had a bad feeling so jerked out my card. Received a TRANSACTION ERROR and a print out ticket saying error no money paid. But money was deducted from my Schwab account. Schwab denied the claim even though tI sent picture of receipt with none payment. I called and explained this is a slam dunk. Look at your own description. All my withdrawals have format of:

Calle 53 No 46-192, Bar be / QUILL.

Carrera 51 # 50-26 MEDELLI.

Calle 28 No. 13 A - 17 Bogota.

Except this one that ripped me off:

Davivienda Davi be / QUILL 0800100 be / QUIL.

I thought it was a skimmer or something because it was during the weekend. Weeks later I tried again. Same high amount. Went to 3 banks and all the same high amounts offered. Fine I selected my regular 400,000. During processing (counting) (but no noise) I receive the Error screen and no money. Same description on my Schwab account. Schwab finally paid both.

Arrive at Medellin bus station I try again and the same high amounts offered so I walked away. Never use Davivienda again! Now use BBVA with no fees. Highest withdrawal is 600,000.

Had a similar thing happen to me in Colombia.

I was in Barranquilla and went to the ATM around the corner from the 4-Points Marriott. It was a bank of three from Bancolombia. First time it didn't give me cash and errored out. I didn't see anything like the 1,400,000. I usually use an amount like 290,000 because the 90 k comes out in small bills instead of three 100 k notes. Sometimes the machine is out of the small notes and I don't get the cash. So I tried again with 300 k. That didn't work. So I tried the one next to it for 300 k and that didn't work.

I get notifiications on my watch and phone on for all my Schwab ATM transactions. And alas, I got three for those. I went down the street to another one.

I had a similar thing with Bancolomia a few years ago, and the non-honored transactions all reversed themselves. So I waited a week or so, and when that didn't happen, I called Schwab and got the cash back for all three. It was quite confusing for them because they thought it was only one transaction because all three looked so much the same. Reminds me I need to check if all three came back. If it was a skimmer, they sure work fast. Also, never use BanColombia!

Two months later, after hearing reports of skimmers, I decided to only use ATMs inside minimarts. Used one, and somehow forgot to take my card. 30 minutes later I get a notifcation on my watch about a $300 VISA transaction with my Schwab card. FUCK! Look in my wallet, no Schwab card. Call immediately, and while I'm on the phone, another $200 transaction. Got all that money back. Love the banks! .

I had that happen a few weeks ago. Not sure why. I speculate that I somehow triggered something that got me featured on the "friend suggestion" list for a lot of chicas. It seems to happen on occasion.

Interesting thing about "friend suggestions" - I look at them regularly. Sometimes I will see a girl on the list and she never re-appears. Other times a particularly will show up for days. I am not quite sure how Facebook has designed that feature to work.

Let me tell you upfront that I am no expert compared to the other experienced members of the board. Based on my limited experience, I think the chicas quote and accept different prices.

I said it is still the same amount, as that's my budget. So we agreed for 7 days 500 USD. This was about two weeks before I left for Medellin. Then she asked me to send her some money upfront to buy some things. I sent her 100 USD, thinking I would just deduct that from the money I was going to give her in Medellin. Anyway, I arrive in Medellin and get checked into the Airbnb and the chica shows up in the evening. We go out to dinner, buy booze and drink in the apartment, she basically wifed up. After about 3 days she was going out to class and asked me for some money, and I gave her 300 mil cop. Then after 5 days when she was leaving, I gave her another 200 mil cop. I probably paid about another 50 mil for taxies etc. Total for 5 days 870 mil cop at the prevailing exchange rate. So the rate went down by 50% almost, without even talking about it. I know it is still a bit high based my current knowledge, but I think I did pretty well for my level of experience back then.

I was also talking to another SA girl before I left for Medellin. She is an Instagram model, was a civil engineering student, and worked in tech support call center. My pre arrival rate she quoted was 300 USD per day, but she wouldn't spend the night. That was too much for me so I didn't commit to her. Just been messaging her on and off. After the first chica left after 5 days, I saw a message from this Instagram chica and messaged her in the morning about 10 am to see if she wanted to meet up. She said she could come at 11,30 am and can stay till 4 pm. I asked her how much, and she now quoted 300 mil cop. I said 200 mil cop and she agreed. This chicks was hotter than the other one, had better firm shapely see cup boobs, great ass, nice make up etc. But it was a struggle to do her. Initially she wouldn't kiss, gave me a hard time getting her naked etc. Wouldn't suck dick, wouldn't let me do oral etc. Finally got her naked, on the bed, lifted and pushed her legs back up, and fucked her standing at the edge of the bed. I think I was frustrated with her and basically grudge fucked her, without nutting for a long time. I think her body I would give a 9, but attitude and technique less than 1.

So, wild swing in the prices, by the same chicas, different days and, being in Medellin vs USA. So not sure what goes into their pricing decisions, but there is variance.

Oh I too have a few Mayorista stories that I could share. My first visit there was about 2004 and did not partake then but in subsequent years probably have picked up about 10 chicas but over a course of about 4 years so I don't frequent the place but when I do it can be fruitful.

I was last there before the CV this was back in mid January and hope it returns / opens up in earnest again. Always like to sit at a table with my Colombian buddy and have a beer and check out the scene.

Now this afternoon I spent 4 hours in Botero / Vera area, yes saw those 2 grungy sloppy gringos as discussed in the video link posted below, shaking my head why they are there every day as I never see them picking up any chicas.

I am no spring chicken either but I care for my dress, grooming, mindful of my diet and weight and am clean cut always with great smelling cologne.

So in Botero and the Vera today being a Friday there was a good selection of chicas, some new faces that I have never seen before including the 18 yo paisa that I scopued up in the side street to the vera, took my car to the Palmetto hotel 2 blocks north and spent and hour plus in the room for some good pounding. Presidential decree number 990 is real however you described its provisions very inaccurately. The decree extends the government's emergency powers to August. More importantly, it also established control measures based on the level of infections in each municipality. The measures are not new. Among them are pico why cedula, genero etc, lockdown of people 70 and older and all the others that have been around since March. In cities where the infection rate is judged to be sufficiently low, there will be fewer restrictions and more new permissions such as church services, restaurants, and the end of curfews. In cities or departments where the rate is judged to be too high (I. E. Parts of Bogota, Cordoba, Atlantico, Amazonas etc.) the restrictions will be maintained or hardened. Up to and including 24/7 lockdown.

Earlier this morning Mayor Daniel Quintero knocked down a rumor that discotecas would be allowed to open. He sent out a tweet that said it's not going to happen and neither will there be a pilot program. I haven't checked this evening but I did not see anything new from the Mayor's office as of late this afternoon. I know it's tedious but we are all better off reading the decrees or at least reputable news sources because many Colombians don't sweat the details but enjoy spreading rumors. It is why pyramid schemes and other scams are so rampant here. Just to be clear, when I say "reputable news source" I am not referring to facebook.
