How did you go from MDE to ORD, or did you go through another country? Last time I came from Periera to Chicago, I came through Panama and it was the quickest I have ever gotten through customs.

Through Mexico City on AeroMexico. I was quite pleased with AeroMexico. Mexico City airport wasn't impressive. Not enough bathrooms.

Maybe my timing was just bad at Chicago, because there was a line over 200 yards long just to get to the maze leading to the scanner machines.

I rather liked the short-term motels because of the bar service and security. I would bring my own backpack with toys, personal hygiene, condoms and lube.

Also, what is usually done? Kuboz did not even look at IDs. They asked if everyone had a Colombian cedula. Both girls said yes. I said I had my passport and the girl at the desk said only a Colombian cedula was accepted. Both girls were dressed conservatively because they had come directly from their job in a retail store.

Time for some lessons learned.

1. Have contingency plans for everything. For instance, getting blocked from a love motel could have messed me up twice. However, I knew where else I could go.

2. Trust your instincts. I knew that trying the 3 some again with the same girls was a mistake. First time was pretty good. Second time was a disappointment. Although the one girl brought me a nice bottle of cologne for a present.

3. Repeating with old favorites isn't always a good idea. Seek more new talent instead of going for someone comfortable.

4. Move with purpose. If you're wandering aimlessly you attract the wrong kind of attention. It also leaves you unprepared in case of a situation. Be aware without being paranoid and most people won't give you a second look.

6. Don't trust the exchange rate the ATM displays. Even with my bank's fees I got a better rate than the one displayed by Davivienda.

7. Free stuff is sometimes more expensive than paying elsewhere. My free apartment cost about $350 in taxis, Uber and Love Motels. It also limited my flexibility and cut down on my willingness to go out. I don't like the idea of taking a taxi for a trip that's under a mile, but I dislike climbing a hill that's got a 25% slope. The one bonus, the girl who bled all over the sheets didn't ruin my friend's mattress.

8. Don't hesitate to meet up with other mongers when you get the chance. You may not click, but you can always learn something.

9. Enjoy everything to the maximum extent possible. Don't worry about the little things. You're in one of the most beautiful countries with some of the most beautiful women. Surely you can find something to smile about.

10. Try new things. My best experience was getting an overpriced handjob at a legit spa. Twice. I'm still amazed at those tits.

I just left La 70 10 minutes ago. I know a gringo staying there for 2 weeks. Sat at cosechas drinking a smoothies and an old gringo sat right in front of me at the coffee shop. Saw several gringos walk by and saw some others buying a futbol shirt since everyone is wearing one for todays game. I was only there for a half hour so I'm sure I didn't see them all, like yourself, for instance.

While I wouldn't call Laureles infested with gringos, there definitely are some. I was just there (twice) on Friday and saw gringos. There are quite a few expats that live there. Quite a few white people too. Even saw 2 white Europeans on the metro headed to Laureles. I might not have noticed them except they got on at San Antonio station and were asking if the train was going towards Laureles. For those who aren't familiar with the metro, Line be begins at San Antonio. It can only go one direction from there.

All bar areas are bar areas for locals. Tourists tend to congregate at Parque Lleras, but they're not hard to find at La 70.

2 Love Motels in Laureles specified that every person is required to have a Colombian cedula in order to rent a room from them. They weren't interested in my passport. They were also rather rude by Colombian standards.

My opinion is that this is part of a push back against sex tourism.

When were casas the only option in Medellin? I'm pretty sure the street walkers have been there for a very long time. Some of the individual streetwalkers look like they've been working the area for 30 years.

I chatted with the Kuboz reception yesterday and they wrote back that an American passport meets the ID requirement. But JJBee4 posted that they would not rent a room to him. Is it the chicas ID that is causing the problem or is it the American passport? Is policy being enforced arbitrarily?
