Hey guys,

Just wondering what changed in Medellin the last years?

Is it still dangerous at night traveling as a Gringo?

Which places at Medellin are best avoid?

Other question, did you try to chat up girls on the Street, Bar etc? Does it work there being a Gringo? Or do they respond with Shock / Fear?

Internet and Disco are common places, men think are "easiest" but from my experience thats definetly not the case.

I know this is extremely early planning.

1. Is everything shutdown during flower festival?

2. Is it easier to meet a chica during flower festival?

3. I have a few chicas I keep in touch on facebook I met on my first trip. What are the chances they have free time during the flower festival?

1. Didn't check the casas this year but it seems like I heard about guys going. Normal places were still open.

2. Lots of crowds for the parades and concerts so might be easier for you to meet the ones you're standing next to.

3. During a couple of the days they might be taking their kids to see a parade, but other days and nights they should have free time (if all the other guys in town that week haven't already reserved them.)

Matt has arrived and through half his stay everything has been great! Security guards do help plus the fact that I set him up with a sweetheart and he even took her to Santa Marta for a few days. Photo's. Returns to Medellin tomorrow and we'll see if the last 6 days of his stay here go without a hitch? I will let you know!

Clean trip with nothing but good memories! Matt flew out today back to the polar bears and eskimos! Says he will return around the 1st of Oct for another adventure. Going to stay with me for the first few days and takehis time finding an apartment that fits his criteria exactly before he moves out. I think its a great idea rather than taking a chance with the pictures and info over the internet which often times turns out to be like an over priced hooker. You come away feeling ripped off!

I'm planning on Medellin in the next 2 weeks or so. I also want to go to Santa Marta. Can you post picture of the chica? You can also PM me and I'll send my e-mail. Thanks, Arjay

I tried to get back with you before but some reason it was never posted. The picture of the girl that was taken to Santa Marta is the first picture on www.ColombiaJake.com I guess I may have missed your trip this time but I will tell you my night tour is one of the most exciting things you may ever experience. The only feedback I have heard is this is amazing but its not for the faint of heart. You see the city in a very different way which is exciting and amazing to most, but also a little scary to some no doubt. Eric returned to Clearwater after another fun time here with me feeling like a star! Tried to get a date with anyone for a concert and realized he had become just another USA old throw away. Nobody wants you in the USA after U-turn 45 unfortunately but you either adapt or die so they say. I only take in one or two people a month because I like to be full of energy and fun when you arrive. Let me know Colombia Jake

Work wise yes, I have found them very lazy, the most lazy in Colombia but all Colombians will sit down when U-turn your back.

The sex part, depends largley on the guy to get the best out of a girl and if the girl likes having sex with you.

You need some Spanish skills to get across to the other side then you don't need to pay gringo prices. It is a lifetime investment.

I think that if you get to know people in Cartagena they will reward you with friendship. It's more expensive in the tourist areas, but many items and services cost the same as in Medellin, Periera or Cali.
Of course, Sir AG have a lot more experience than me, but I don't agree. Cartagena, if you can stand the climate, is a very nice place.

Next year will be my second trip Medellin. I'm planning to visit during my bday in the last week in July. I was thinking about staying an extra week for the flower festival. I heard most places like casas shutdown during that time. I have a few questions if anyone can answer them.

How is pricing vs 2 years ago? Is access to top tier girls easier? I was with 8s but saw 12s out.

Prices are only slightly higher, lower increases than most cities in that time span. That said, the exchange rate is much worse for dollar, euro, etc than it was in say 2009.

Access to top tier girls I would say is slightly tougher. There is a bit more attention and opportunity so I would say average prepago appearance has gone down and the regular girls are more aware of their, hmmm,"value." that said, loads of fun and hot girls to be had, I would not be concerned. I've never been to havana (I am not allowed to go!) but I have heard it's also excellent for mongering and the overall experience.

It's called chemistry. No rules for that in any casa. Either you got it with a prepago or don't. In other words if they like you they will.

A prepago will be very mad if you say that to her. She needs economic support, but never, she would say that she is a prepago. If she does, they usually try you to pay like 500k COP, for services that Colombian hardly pays 100k for.

But you have it good with a semi-prepago to. Just be generous to what yourself feels right, the numbers you have on this site in 10k reports from Medellin.

My tactic was to visit Energy, it was different house-rules in 2009, and prepagos in that have an apartment, for 100-150k.

Then afterwards, you can take that well edcucated, maybe english speaking girl out to dinner. Fully relaxed.

That was my game. Now when my spanish is much better I don't really need prepagos, my friends provide me with dates. Can't get any better than that. However, a good prepago always taste like a cold Carlsberg, probably the best sex.
