Based on over 12 years going to Colombia and marriage to a Colombiana (now divorced), 99% of the time, if a girl in a place like Gustos walks by and says "Hi," she is a prepago. A regular girl would have no reason to say Hi to you, no matter how good you look. That is not their culture.

The Tall Man stays almost clear of parque lleras however from time to time I hang with some friends who just need to see it so, over the past 8 years I have visited the clubs and bars probably twice a year on average and maybe a total of 4 times in Gustos over the past 4 years, my point is that my expectation ANY women in Gustos is that she IS A PREPAGO unless she proves otherwise. So my experience is that 99% are prepagos.

Well Uncle these guys are spot on. I went in there on Friday but there were so many people guys and girls that I really didn't know who was the pro vs regular girl with her brother there. I spent a lot of time just people watching. Girls would walk up to me and flirt but none mentioned sex! They just would say Hi and act normal. I like women that are blunt. I feared asking a regular girl if she was a pro. I messaged a chica from prepagos before I went out. She responded that she was at one the clubs right down the street. I left to go meet her. It's been over a year since I was in that barrio. It is about 4-5 blocks East of Parque Bolivar. Their (Divine) hours are 12-7 M-Sat and 12-4 Sun and holidays. You shouldn't have any particular problems during those hours.

But there is a caveat. Have you read the forum extensively? Are you planning on wearing shorts, designer shades, gold chains, pulling out your I-phone X every 30 seconds? Because if you do things like that you might.

Just as well carry a billboard sign saying "Hey Medellin, I'm a gringo, come and get me" and they will. But, if you dress casual like Colombians, keep your phone in your pocket or judiciously pick your places to pull it out.

Keep your money in a money-belt or a hidden pocket and pay attention to what's around you. I don't imagine you would have the slightest problem.

Nah I will be wearing dark sweats and a t-shirt. And I will tell my boy to leave the shorts at home. I've been to mde twice but haven't venture out to casas. Thanks for the advice.

What are your thoughts on Gustos as a solo American? I'll be there in a few weeks and want to see all MDE has to offer but am kinda hesitant to hit the clubs alone.

Why hesitant to hit Gusto alone? I can understand being hesitant to hit La Copa del Rey (an El Centro bar) alone, but Gusto is gringo ground zero. There will probably be other gringos who are there alone. Certainly there will be working girls there who will be happy to introduce themselves. As ColombiaLover said, if the come up and talk to you, or make heavy eye contact and smile, they're in the game and for $200, sometimes less, they'll make you happy.

Then again, why go there at all? A walk around Parque Lleras and you'll find dozens of other clubs and chances are good you'll find a few working girls in most, or you'll be able to see them working their way up and down the streets. You'll also find that their prices will be $100 or less. $67 and $50 are possible. That's roughly 300, 200 and 150 k in local currency vs. 600 k at Gusto.

Of course, if you want to see everything MDE has to offer, you'll need to walk by La Copa Del Rey and El Rey de Copas and about 40 other bars in El Centro. You'll find working girls in almost every one and their prices run from 30 k to 100 k. Most won't be dressed as nice as the girls in Gusto, but plenty look just as good. And you can find them at 2 pm instead of 11 pm.

However, wandering around El Centro alone can be intimidating. Especially if the toothless one legged hooker comes hopping up to you.

Due to my lack of Spanish, I'm not in the mood for a turn down so I play it cool and stand where I can be seen and eye fish. Here comes the blonde. Could easily pass for white a white 26 year old from Wisconsin. But had hips like an ATL stripper. She was very tall probably due to her high heels and had an rump like a horse. I doubt the Gusto's chica would meet anyone for 200 k on a Friday or Saturday night after 23:00. The Gusto's chica might meet a guy on a Tuesday for 200 k because her opportunity cost is lower. If her probability of having a guy take her out of Gustos on a Tuesday for $200 is less than 33% she should take the freelance job.

This is very true. Prices on Wednesday is a big difference than prices on Friday or Saturday night.

I went to this apartment yesterday. It is near the corner of Avenida Nutibara and Calle 44. The bed and bathroom were excellent.

Mr Ent and Bigboss are spot on! Prices is based on situation and location. The clothing store analogy is very accurate. It will be cheap in the outlets just because it's there. Same product in the mall cost more. My advice is if your in a place where the prices are high, she's not leaving with you and missing the guy that's going to pay her 5 x as much unless she's in desperate mode. End of night type situation. But tomorrow in the massage parlor or on millereroticos she goes back to her outlet prices. Just get her number and hit her up the next day. Same girl 13 hours later is now 50% off hahaha.

Unfortunately, most Paisas don't think like that. If she has it in her mind that she is going to get $200 at Gusto, chances are she'll stick to that price even if there's 30 girls and only 1 guy.

Were you able to get any girls form Gusto to go with you for 200 K your second trip there?

I doubt that he will Unc, unless he followed that same protocol of getting her number and contacting her another day. As YK said, $200 is the Gusto first-timer foreigner price which would be the standard for anyone walking inside the place. Even a chick that you could fuck in a downtown casa for 35K all day every day is going to say $200 when she steps into Gusto. I have said time and time again: Same girl, Different venue, Different price. Once Fun Luvr talked to her away from Gusto's the price self-adjusted to something that would be considered more fair. It went to what many guys report paying for outcall freelancers that they find on facebook or websites, which the girl then became.

Just like clothes. If you go to the Ralph Lauren retail store at the mall you are charged a high ass price for a shirt. You can go find the same exact shirt at the Ralph Lauren outlet store for way cheaper. Don't believe the shit about them saying it is inferior or was a fuckup. The moment that you see 20 of the same shirt that are fuck ups in 100 different stores you know the manufacturer would have been fired a long time ago.
