MONEY EXCHANGE: As you are exiting customs, even before you enter the general public area (where people are holding signs, waiting for arrival loved ones) there is a very rip off Cambio on the right. If you pass through the crowd of awaiting public and shoot up the stairway 50 yrds ahead there is another Cambio offering the exact same exchange rate as the best I was able to find in Poblado. I learned this my last trip and thus felt safe exchanging a significant amount of dollars, saving me the hassle of doing this the following morning. (1, 940 COP / USD) Cambios require a passport and not just photocopy. Later in my trip I tried in vain to exchange more $$ USD with photocopy-nada. This is another reason to do it at the airport as you have your passport with you.

TRANSPORT into city:

Outside the door (back down one flight at arrival level) I picked up a 8, 000 peso bus to San Diego district and then took another 8, 000 p taxi to Mansion- this is very simple and safe. There really is no need to have 70, 000 peso private car waiting for you.

I have noticed a proliferation of OK growers in Medellin though. If you look, you can find someone who knows their strains, if it's sativa / indica / hybrid, etc. The quality is better than the overwhelming majority of Mexico and certainly the rest of Colombia. They supply the decent stuff on the coast and Cali. Prices range widely. 5,000 COP for a J is a pretty standard street price but you can get a half pound of tasty stuff for 320, 000K, which will give you about 300 of those Js. Coming from California, the stuff here just makes you tired if it's indica and just has kind of a pleasant pop if it's sativa. But you will adjust in time.

I would say California has now turned the corner on Amsterdam as the center of the mj universe for sure.

MDE has a lot of variety in party favors though and you can't beat the mix of price, convenience, etc.

I am an MJ enthusiast. That being said the cripicita in Colombia ranges from "No way" to "I guess that's acceptable" I mean for $1-$5 you can't really go wrong.

You also have to add in the extra benefits. When I tell the Colombians that my shit goes for $50-$70 an. 8th and they get all "En serio?" and then it's like a big deal. They're smoking some top shelf shit that they can tell thier friends "Ay gorda sabes q." Plus I've never met a Colombian that isn't a total label working girl and when you tell them that your Cripicito has a name? A brand name for pot? That you know the grower? That it's all organic? That you can see all those crystals? Or a huge nug? Any girl that likes to smoke pot will be super blown away by most any Cali bud. I had one girl tell me that one strain looked like it was covered in coke! That was the highest compliment I could have gotten on my boys home grown. FROM a colombian no less! So you know they know coke! Hahahah! The love it! Plus it's like twice or three times as strong as the crap they have down there so they get stoned! Hahahah!

As for it being not the risk of being hassled. 100% true! Why start your trip off with a problem? Especially at the airport. Well the AP probobly would be the only place where a few grams of pot would be an issue in Colombia. Cops would just take it or a bribe or both. You know? Why get sent back to USA just as you arrive.

Plus in my younger days it is safe to say I was criminal minded and didn't give a fuck! Hahaha! I mean crossing the VT and Canadian boarder with 20+ pounds of week on snow shoes or skies so what's a few grams to a guy as nuts as me? Plus I've slowed down my smoking by 80% because my novia hates it and how stupid and slow I am when stoned so I don't take the risk anymore. So a few blunts here and there which I can get form my taxista is fine by me.

Password idea is creative but you want to be able to track the password so you can rate its sucess and ROI. Password maybe difficult to track unless you have your bartender with. Pen and pad writing everyone down if the place to busy it may lead to inconsistencies. Most important thing here is CRM customer relationship management. Signing up for specials or coupons would be a better path that way you can grab contact information and engage personally to your consumers rather than just a broad message on facebook. Liquid lounge needs to find a niche and exploit. Something that other strip joints or lounges do not do or have. Focus on the 80/20 rule, and most importantly keep xlose contact with all the girls that show up to liquid lounge. You should also build relations with foreigners not of this board.

Not sure how popular hookah is down in Medellin or within the monger demographic but I always love to party with a few drinks in hand and smoking hookah. Thr high you get from hookah and drinks is amazing. You ever thought of offering hookah at your lounge? I been to mde a few times never seen hookah on the scene so maybe something you can bring to the table that all depends if the nightlife population and demographics will accept.

The usage of password can be tracked by the number of (free entrances or free drinks or xxx) that are given out.

BTW, Hookah is a great idea. I am a big fan of hookah and wrote about it's availability, including directions, on this forum. I fully agree that the buzz with alcohol and hookah is very sweet. A girl in your lap is an icing on the cake.

Sightly better than the Mexican Cartel grown. I brought down. 5 (.25 of Sour Berry. 25 of White Fire) and showed it around to a few of my lady friends and their taxistas and clearly I puffed them down. Medellin can be had for very cheap. I have friends that live in MDE on $2,000 / mo-$2,500 / mo (USD) and they have girls almost every day and go out a few nights a week. Think twice this much to live in El Poblado and that where I live for half of the year.

We are open on Sunday for sure, but we are usually closed on Monday's and Tuesdays. We are debating opening for Monday Night Football and have a happy hour and maybe tacos or something. We are trying to gauge interest. Our projector is truly awesome. 120" plus of high resolution screen. I don't think anything in Medellin can match it, and all sports can be slingboxed from my home in California. It works flawlessly.

Just wanted to get an opinion about Medellin. Is simple p4p getting better or worse in Medellin for foreigners? I can share that for Americans, Eastern Europe is just not worth the travel. Hope to refocus my efforts in South America.

Looks are subjective. I hope the sex tourists you are talking to opt to go to Europe rather than run up the prices in MDE. Prices in places like Panama and Costa Rica are already highly inflated if there are people looking to pay higher prices in Latin American. In places where the locals already have a functioning system set up that works, there is no need for gringos to inflate the market.

Prices in Costa Rica and Panama have been driven up because they have two of the largest middle classes in Latin America. Talk to guys who were in those places 15+ years ago and they will tell you the difference. Medellin has no middle class and the poor are not going away any time soon. There is El Poblado, which is what most of the thread in centered around, and other areas. Everything in El Poblado is twice as expensive as other areas from rent, girls, food, etc.

To answer your original question I would say that the nightclubs and computer website girls are probably seeing increases because they cater to the upper class and that is where the money goes to in Medellin. The other areas not seeing much of an increase. I hope this answers your question.

P4P is getting slightly more expensive in MDE for foreigners and depending on your perspective, that could be a good thing as it might improve quality in the looks department. I would not recommend that anyone travel from USA or Europe to MDE purely for sex.
