To get your bearings on the layout of the city, I suggest taking the Turibus Tour. It starts at the Parque Poblado at 9 am and 1 pm. It last around three hours. Tel: 371 50 54. www.turibuscolombia.com.

You can still stay in Poblado and take the bus, metro or taxi anywhere you want to go. Mayorista is down the hill from there. The metro is great, but can get crowded. Most of the action is in the Centro area.

The SWs in the 53rds are out in the day time. You can walk around with no problem. Just be careful at night.

Sounds like there isn't much of that in Poblado region. Poblado looks like an upscale place with cafes, restaurants etc. Which is cool and great place to decompress. Based on what I read, I will need to take a taxi (or metro train. Is that safe?) to the casas up north in el centro. If lucky, I can bring a girl back to my apt. Sounds like Energy and some of the other places in casa centro is the place to hit. Right?

Where in el centro are most SW? I'm not interested in depressing glue snifers or jailbait. My experience in Lima with SW was actually kinda fun. Adrenaline rush and sleezy, which I like as a change in pace. Ideally I would like a safe place near SW, and not far from centro casas.

If you guys facebook search Casa Shlomi, you will find pictures of many mansion girls hanging out and partying there. I heard it's a hostel cater to Israeli Jews and they get to party and fuck the girls for free. Anyone actually check out this place personally? Why can't we setup something like for American gringos?

It's not a hostel. More like a free hotel for Israeli soldiers that just got out of the army. The Israeli government pays for 6 months of RNR after they complete their two year mandatory stint in the army.

You can't check it out because only the Israelis are invited along with the women they invite. Got invited to a club party by a mansion girl and a lot of the Israeli guys were there. They pretty much just ignored me. Girl told me later that they didn't like it that she invited me. They just keep to themselves and don't mingle with Colombian men as well.

Just can't see American guys all pitching in to throw a big party and waiting to see who wants to fuck them for free. Jajaja.

Not much different than going to any club and hitting on women. Sometimes you get laid sometimes you don't and most of the guys I have met in Medellin are there for so short a time that they are almost all going for the sure thing $$.

Thanks for the 411 on Mayorista. I checked the hotels, definitely cheaper. Based on my limited research sounds like you can either stay at those hotels. Or settle down HQ somewhere else and just hop on a taxi to mayorista and go for the short term hotels.

On average, is action in Mayorista (SW / MP) comparable to Casa centro? Girls better than average? I been to places where SW are gems. And places where they are repulsive and you run as far as possible.

Any entertainment or stuff to do in Mayorista region? And I imagine its OK safe as long as you use common sense?

Make long story short, just bougt my ticket to Medellin. Leaving in 2 days. I read through 10 pages of this forum as well as the list / hotels.

Coming back from a deployment, I decided to go to Colombia for my post deployment leave. Last minute sort of thing. Have fun, and meet some girls which I sorely missed while deployed.

I'm fluent in Spanish, relatively young (40). Based on my limited research, I was going to rent an apt in poblado region. Near parque lleras for a week. I haven't reserved it yet.

I'm looking to meet nice looking girls. I don't mind going out and meeting girls at bars / clubs, but my experience with latinas (at least in Peru / Ecuador) is that they form this little circle when out with friends, and it's kinda of a challenge to break in especially if you're flying solo. I don't know anyone in Medellin, so in that respect meeting nonpros could be a challenge as they may see me differently. So I don't mind prepagos / prostitutes. And price isn't a huge factor. You save a lot of money while deployed and stuck on a base.

In stead of poblado, Stay at alcaravan hotel or Macedonia hotel in Mayorista, which is a safe SW area. You can bring the SW girls there to your hotel. Don't think about bringing casa girls to your place. Casa girls usually want to stay at home in the night. For daytime casas, check Energy and New Life. Good luck.

The reason is that many gringos do not want to speak, or learn, basic Spanish even in Spanish-speaking countries, and they do not have knowledge or ability to plan and organize the actions by themselves.

You would have to make arrangements with the girl, it's not the kind of place that would charge you a multa (takeout fee), they want the girls there for their shift. But of course often they can leave early or come when they have time off or whatever. I did hear there was a nice little gem there, but I have not been to visit her.
