I came back from Brazil 2 weeks ago, and my wife said I could not come home without a negative test. We have small children in our house. I went to the far rockaway section of Queens and got a rapid test as soon as I left JFK. It was free, and I got my results in less than an hour. COVID 19 test.

Unfortunately rapid tests lack sensitivity, I. E. They are prone to false negatives. They may be useful as a means for someone to facilitate travel, but are unreliable, particularly in those with no symptoms.

I keep re-reading my post and still can't find where it says I believe that there's a cure in Venezuela. I said and will repeat that it would be awesome if there was a cure in Venezuela. Most likely there is no cure or vaccine in Venezuela and no cure or vaccine anywhere soon. The Russians s claim to have one too but that's doubtful.

The RF has already three types of vaccines developed on different principles. The first one is a vector one based on human adenovirus, the second is totally synthetic and works well for anyone with allergies, the third one is based on the same platform that a vaccine against polio and encephalitis. This post does not apply to this weekend (with curfew), but when I was in Medellin last weekend, I found two late-night options (not that there are not more):

1) Casa Blanca (White House) in Prado. It doesn't really even getting going until 2 am, but it's open earlier. Drinks, working girls (warning: most are ugly, so if you are planning to be with a working girl after, import one with you). Do NOT walk that neighborhood in the middle of the night.

2) Farenheit. Not sure how they are doing it, but gringo friend of mine told me that Farenheit is staying open until 3 am (used to stay open all night). Maybe it's because it's not in Medellin proper and is subject to different rules. But if you are looking for a club, this is an option.

In Medellin most girls are either prepagos or Sugar babies (post pago), so just about any girl will want money, if you date via Colombiancupid, Amigos, SA, SB they want money for full access, usually a lot like 1 or 2 M peso when they need it for unlimited sex. Alcohol sales end at 6 pm on Friday, until maybe Monday or Tuesday.

Bars close at 10 pm.

I am not sure how strictly this will be enforced. Example: bars are to close at midnight, recently, and I was in one until 1 a. Bars were not allowed to serve alcohol, going back a month or so. One I was in was putting an empty Aguila Cero bottle in front of every customer that ordered a beer.
So, I don't quite know what to expect, but it certainly won't be some crazy Halloween night club vibe.

According to an article in VivirenPoblado today, they are going to deploy an additional 4,000 police to enforce the curfew / prohibition, and in another article all of the restaurants / bars are up in arms. A step backward in time but hopefully only for this coming weekend.

I'm impressed, but like LeBron in Miami, you still have room for improvement. Importing cheap moscato is not terribly wise. There is plenty of cheap wine in Medellin. What you should bring is cheap thongs, bikinis, jewelry, bags, candy, perfume, etc. That don't take up much room. Although, if you're packing a bunch of white sneakers, jean shorts, and ball caps, I'm just impressed you fit anything extra in your suitcase. The dress, bag, and top was a nice touch.
