Again that is 2 different things. You do not need the covid app. The link that YK provided has the immigration form that you have always filled out. It is electronic now instead of on paper. You submit that then receive an email confirming that you have submitted your immigration paperwork.

You don't need any app. You need to fill out the form at the link provided.

That is the app in web form. You can just use that on your phone.

I really hopes this clears the confusion. I encourage someone else to verify my summary translation: no test is required or contemplated by the official (Minister of Public Health) who is empowered by the President to impose testing. Everybody can calm down.

With respect to legal questions, as in most other democratic republics worldwide, there is a state of emergency in place in Colombia (currently extended until February 2021). The state of emergency gives the President power to impose policy by decree, as distinct from checking with legislators or judges. In plain terms it means the judge can say anything but it is up to the executive branch to accept or ignore it.

The covid app is voluntary. The link attached by Brother Yippy is obligatory. It is an electronic health declaration. When you enter your flight and document details it will made available to Colombia immigration. Airlines will not let you board without presenting a confirmation email.

So can you elaborate on the plenty of other destinations for mongering at this time.

I know the DR and Mexico are open, but they don't compare in my book to Colombia, so where else is it almost like Pre-Covid at least that's what I noticed a few weeks ago compared to most other Countries in the world? Asia is basically closed, so where are these other destinations someone should consider besides Colombia with it literally being wide open right now.

Because we already made flight / lodging arrangements and scheduled certain days off work?

Whatever, the judge gave a period of 96 hours for them to start doing this. So if you're arriving by this Sunday, it looks like you'll get in.

What I don't know is if the government will now institute this measure automatically or if there is more back and forth between the judge and the minister of health.

Any Colombian legal experts out there?

I find it hard to believe they are going to do this right before the Holidays. So many Colombians abroad will have to cancel trips to visit families in Colombia. No one is going to visit to spend 14 days in quarantine.

Ahhh the "stoner park". Oh how I miss stopping there during the day, buying some krippy from someone at the park and just smoking a "J", having a drink, and talking with the people. I usually stay in a Airbnb close to that area so I've spent a lot of time roaming day and night and all hours thru the centro streets, bars, parlors, and hole in the wall after hour spots LOL. My favorite area in Medellin! Heading back end of January, will definitely update the forum with my findings and changes. Really hoping this "clubs and bars closing until mid january" thing is just a rumor. Just asked two friends from Medellin a few mins ago if they heard anything about this and they said no. One of them works as a bartender in Parque Lleras. As of now they said clubs are open until midnight.

El Espectador Article Today Regarding Testing And Quarantines For Entry

I'm thinking about taking one next Tuesday, four days before my flight departure. Or, to anyone's knowledge, would that be premature as technically it's 5 days before my arrival? I believe the previous requirement had something to do with taking the test four days before arrival? It's just that where I live I know I can get a PCR on a Tuesday every week. What a hassle.
I just read an article today that say's that testing will be required for entry within 96 hours, and I'm not completely clear on this, but if the test is more than 48 hours old and negative there will be a quarantine requirement. At least that is what I read and someone else with better Spanish skills perhaps can confirm what I read it's in the Salud section of Notiicias of El Espectador published today December 3.

If true, the quarantine issue is not good unless your test is within the 48 hour window. But again somebody should read the article or confirm from another source.

My advice to you is to see if you can get a same day test result the day before you fly so if true, you won't have to Quarantine.
