Is Colombia screwed as a destination? Even if the socialist president bans prostitution (which he seems like a new age leftist so he probably won't) the economy is going to turn into Venezuela lite and make it too dangerous.

You have a profound understanding of Colombian politics and economics. I'm going to continue to live here despite it all but you should stay away. At least for 4 more years until the next presidential election. I mean afterall this former-guerilla leftist wants to tax the wealthy and raise the minimum wage and increase pensions for the elderly. The last politician that implemented those kind of radical socialist changes was. Ahh. Ahh, oh yeah. Franklin Roosevelt.

I am heading to Medellin in a few days and have made it my new spot over the past year. Spent years in the hobby in Cuba, Venezuela, and Costa Rica. All were amazing in their day, but political changes brought about changes as a destination, especially for mongering. When does the new President take office? In asking this, I realize that changes may not happen immediately (but they could). For example, Cuba was THE place for years, until Castro shut it down literally overnight. Venezuela. Similar but with a change in leadership. You guys have more experience and a better feel for Columbia, since I am a relative newbie (7 times in 2 years). For those there now, have you seen any indication of immediate changes? What are your thoughts about the future. The question relates to those of us traveling to Columbia for mongering, not social, political, or anything else. This is not the forum for that. What I do know, is that a few days from there, I will be banging everything I can that my poor, old, tired, cynical, fat ass will permit. Gentlemen.

The Force is strong with this one, too, jeje. Gawd, I would love to hear stories about Cuba from back in the day. Maybe because I grew up in Florida and had awareness well before the Mariel boatlifts, and lived in Miami for five years during the late eighties. I have always been fascinated by Cuba.

Ever since Freckle came back from her fingernail injury, there is a different milieu in the room, less passionate, more preoccupied. We had our first ever round of make-up sex, but you only get one of those on your punchcard. She just left after coming for only 30 minutes and asking for money for medicine for her finger. I will see her again but not the next time or two or three when she asks. I gave her the money and told her to get lost without any sex.

After a brief initial period of disappointment, I am content. Freckle and I had that euphoria of new love that forestalled all reality for four weeks. Before Medellin, I could measure that time per new chica in minutes or hours, rarely days, never weeks.

The disco lights were less than 80 mil COP for the two and I love the upgrade. I can almost bet you money that any chica who is willing to show up to your room, after she sees the lights, hears the music, and watches herself in a couple of strategically placed mirrors, will be dancing in her underwear or "interior ropa" in minutes. Obviously, after that, the rest is a cake walk.

I still have not seen Scarlet. She is getting kicked out of her apartment on Monday because I am no longer paying the rent. For my first offer to recapitulate, I told her I would fund a fiesta this weekend at her place, if she would invite every chica I ever met and fucked through her. If half of them show up that should be about ten. I invited my wingman to come for free and he said no, go figure. Different strokes for different folks. His sessions are highly ritualized and predictable so I understand why my party may not sound like fun for him. On the other hand, I have the reputation for fucking anything that moves with a wet hole. Maybe even after it stops moving but before ambient temperature sets in, jeje.

I am headed over to Ground Zero. I also had a less than satisfactory session there last night and that needs to be erased from my memory banks. A little bit scary, that same new chica from Ground Zero showed up at my hotel door a couple of hours after and I don't remember telling her my room number. The front desk did call up but I was already expecting another chica, so from lack of Spanish comprehension I told them to send her up. She turned out to be harmless.

Two unsatisfactory sessions in a row is such a rarity here for me that I am not sure if it ever happened before. A little time, usually a day or less, and the ship rights itself, every time so far. Tomorrow is guaranteed to no one. Not sure, but I think that quote is Biblical.

Metro fares, rent, groceries. . . I am sure the list is long.

Every year things go up, and you add inflation, and things have been jacked way up, especially food products.

However with the USD to COP exchange rate being so favorable, and increasing over time it's a different story compared to other Countries.

In the USA where gas in California is over $ 6 USD a gallon, and in Colombia it's about 9,000 COP per gallon or approximately $ 2.25 a gallon it kind of seems contradictory that Colombia's gas prices haven't gone up like most everything else.

The original post on this topic was in reference to "mongering costs", and although casa's and clubs and bars have been raising their prices, the street scene has not been affected as much, as there are still many many SW's who go for 30,000 COP. And if your into beached whales and glue sniffers they will go for less. LOL.

So in this niche of mongering, prices haven't really risen, but have fallen, especially when the COP was topping out over 4100 COP.

It's hard to imagine at times that for approximately $ 10 USD in Centro, you can get fucked and sucked including a cheap Love Motel.

Supply and demand my brothers in HiJinx, supply and demand. Decrease demand and puta prices will not go up (obviously when adjusted for inflation and the exchange rate). In fact, isn't there an argument that we are paying less now than say twenty years ago? Not sure, just wondering. . . I've only been here since 2019. I was just finishing up breakfast. It was th best I could at the time. Baseball caps. Nearly every person under 30 years old (and many that are older) that lives in 'the barrios' wears a baseball cap 24/7.

I was paying 50 k cop for HH in a casa right before the pandemic in 2020. When I returned, the rate went up to 55 k cop, not a huge deal for me imo. My lunch spot was 12 k Menu del DIA, then it was 15 k, now it is 18 k. Then portion got bigger for a few days when the price went up to 18 k, then it got back to normal portion size.

Oh what's popular in El Centro? More formal attire?

It depends on the time, and place, there are a lot of office workers working in this area, tourists, street vendors, working girls so you are likely to see all kinds. I go to clubs wearing shorts, sometimes flipflops but that is just me. You can watch youtube videos to get a better idea.

Googling from back here in Hometown USA, I gather that Colombia, like most of the planet, is experiencing escalating inflation--in Colombia's case, a 21 year high of nearly 10% on an annualized basis. I'm curious whether any of you guys on the ground in Medellin have noticed some ratcheting up in the basic costs of our hobby: entry charges at the strip clubs, casa base rates, a beer at Barra Executiva? Perhaps as a BM service, ISG should look into creating a Mongering Price Index (the cost of a standardized package of services: (1 HR. CFS, DFK, BBBJ--weighted proportionately by market share among SWs, brothels, clubs, on-line providers).

Are baseball caps out of place in medellin? Heard about the aversion towards shorts and flip flops in Colombia (unless you're in Cartagena), but haven't heard anything about caps.
