I realize most users are going to think this post somewhat useless but I remember years ago that it took some time for me to learn about the entire resources of the ISG forum and it breakdown of parts so here is a quick lesson for the unititiated who like me are not intuitive users of these forums. The forum is broken down into subsections. If you look at the upper most whit part of this page to the left you will see the tree that leads one to this thread, it looks somehting llike this but I had to use the symblos available to me to substitute: 🏠 Forum ➡South America➡ Colombia ➡ Medellin Reports. I can click on any of those to go back to broader sections of the forum. If I click on "Colombia" it takes me back out to the list of threads for Colombia. The tree now looks like this: 🏠 Forum➡ South America ➡ Colombia. Here if you scroll the length of it you will see that it is divided into two sections; "Thread Title" and "User Blog". Medellin Reports being under thread title, if you scroll down in this section (each thread is listed according to the latest post so the position in the list can change) you will see "Links to Reports of Distinction", If you scroll down below and get into the "User Blog" section then you will find some very useful stuff. For example there are threads here dedicated to "Medellin Lists" and "Medellin Maps and Lists" and therer are theads dedicated to postings concerning hotels and apartments among the other helpful things here.

I have read all about the different options and experiences on this forum. But I haven't seen anything on if the experience is any different for younger men. I will be going at the beginning of February and will be 21 years old. Does anyone know if the experience is any different if you are a younger man? Also I would say I am generally pretty attractive. So would there be any difference in how things go as a younger attractive man? Or is it the same as these women see it solely as a job? Also since I am younger do you think I would be at any more risk than a middle aged man on being robbed? Any insight on these questions would be great!

Good questions. Certainly the dangers to a young guy are no greater. Probably less in fact. The average young guy would no doubt look like a more risky target than the average old guy. Usually fitter, stronger, faster.

As for the other question. I also started quite young. Thinking back to those days, I think the main difference lies in your level of experience. That does make a difference. How you handle it is the big question. Everyone has a starting point and will no doubt make some mistakes. That starting point could be when you are young or when your old. But I think it is the same starting point.

All we can hope is that Omicron finally snaps a few conservatives out of their dissonance and people start to realise what a load of BS this all really is. Cases mean nothing man. Watch the death rate. It is still rock steady. That is bcos there is no need to be worried. All this fearmongering is driving everyone crazy and tanking the world in general. Enough!

No one seems to be talking about the rapid rise in covid cases in Colombia that has just started. There were barely 1600 cases a day around Dec 15, it rose to 2500 a day around Dec 23 and in last two days has shot up to 4000 and now 6000, At this we can all forget about travelling to Medellin for next 3 months.

What do you think?

US cases were at 442,000 yesterday and the majority are Omnicron. 6,000 per 52 million isn't exactly scary numbers. Especially if you are vaccinated (which you would need to demonstrate that to enter the country anyway).

In the early afternoon, just before the monstrous thunder storms struck, I headed to the Botero area and walked around. I got Phizered today (my first shot) and then 2nd in 3 weeks, and 15 days after that I'm arriving in MDE. Got it just in the nick of time, since they want at least 14 days since 2nd shot. I'll have 15 days.

Ah. Here's the thing. The most popular way to go is to bump through the states and if you are doing that you will need the quick test to land in the US- As I understand it you don't need a test to get into Colombia you just need to be vaxxed- not sure about your travel plans but you might want to do AC to Bogota and then fly to MDE to avoid the test to get into the US. You can also fly COPA and bounce through PAnama City (same deal as Colombia. No test you just need to be vaxxed) to MDE and avoid having to get the quick test- You will still need to get a PCR test to go home though- so if you are going home through the states you will need a PCR test and a quick test- Plus Mr Dressup says you get tested when you land which is starting to sound like seven circles of Hell. LOL - just wait till Spring before you go home. That's what I'm doing.

And one more wrinkle. I flew Toronto to Costa Rica via Panama. I had a 15 hour layover in Panama. I needed a Covid test to leave the airport for a hotel in Panama. If you are merely in transit through Panama you don't need a pre test, but if you want to leave the airport in Panama city you will need a Covid test before leaving Canada.
