they do give you a ticket for your luggage, actually. i like the microbus, although i didn't know there were two different routes. it's not very convenient to get off en el centro if your final destination is poblado. barry of poblado rentals has taken this so far that he actually takes a regular bus from hotel nutibara to the airport to depart. but i do think 60, 000 for a taxi from the airport is an unnecessary expense.

yes i took the bus, my two cents. i was staying at hotel nutibari. the buses depart right behind hotel. about 6. 500 pesos. they put my suitcase in the back. they do not leave until the bus is full. give yourself a extra hour if you take it. i had the misfortune of sitting next to a fat women. it was kind of miserable on the turns when she oozed into me. the bus stopped at the san diego mall some got off some got on. if i was by myself i would take again.

Did they give you a ticket for your baggage? I just don't remember single time I was given a ticket for a maleta.

I've taken the bus from the airport for 7K COP, then cab it over from the San Diego stop to the Mansion for an additional 4-6k COP. Not a bad deal. I have yet to take the bus back up the hill due to real early or late flights back home. And yes, I've never seen any Americans on the bus. A little spanish would serve you well taking this route.

Honestly. And I am totally open for reactions on this. I find that it is almost impossible to find really, really hot girls on the public p4p scene in Medellin be it strip clubs or casas, and I also think that gringos have such a bad rep now that's it's increasingly harder to strike up a flirt with a hot girl in a bar or club or a mall, so I am doing so much hard work on facebook (as they are generlly way more tranquila when at home chatting where nobody sees them) to get some quality action in this city. If anybody else does as much work as me I was thinking maybe we could save some time.

Any of the bars in Parque lleras facing the parque should fit the bill. I like Havana, as it sits up a bit so you have nice vantage for views. Early evenings, if you pick a table close to the street and grab a beer, you could nurse it for hours watching eye candy. Late morning and noon, I prefer Cafe Juan Vladez. Free wi-fi helps me make my plans for the afternoon.

I'm usually in Medellin with a colleague but right now I am here solo for a good month. I could use some company at times. Probably more so for a night out and some drinking than mongering per se. LOL! My thoughts were party all night and sleep on the bus. I wake up and BAM I'm in the salsa capital of the world. No fun on the bus. LOL! But it would be cool if a meet some hot calena on the bus and have some fun.

If you are staying in Poblado, you can get off in San Diego. It's a bit closer than going to Centro and going back the other way. It's almost always 100% Colombia. I'm always the only asian on the bus.

It is 70, 000 COP including the toll.

There are cabs with published rates on business cards. I had one for 50, 000 which was a recent increase.

There are also buses with two different destinations. The more frequent one takes you the Hotel Nutibara, the large hotel right in the center of El Centro. The other takes you to San Diego, where you catch a (typically) waiting cab to El Poblado. The buses are about 5, 000 and the cab to El Poblado is about 6, 000. 8,000. The buses at the airport stop in front of the information terminal by the door that is opposite the tourist information desk.

The buses are express with limited stops. The drop off to San Diego / El Poblado is the first stop I believe. So you don't lose much time except the taxis drive faster.

There was also a private, large SUV that ran the route from the San Diego / El Poblado dropoff. That was 12, 000 I believe.
