There will be less Gringos around during the time frame you mentioned, and up until Christmas, lots of girls will be trying to make as much money as they can so they can buy gifts and have money to celebrate with their families.

However, there will also be a huge uptick in crime, there's always more the few weeks leading up to Christmas, so you can never let your guard down.

If you haven't purchased your tickets yet you might want to consider returning on 25th, the airfare will be lower and things will be pretty much dead, albeit there will be some SW's out on Christmas Day in Centro. I was in Medellin last Christmas Day and was curious as to what was out there, and there were a few, but not anything I would get near with a ten foot pole. LOL.

I'll be in town Dec 17-24 so will find out. I've never been later (in December) than about the 17th. My guess is it will be good until about 12/22 or 12/23.

FWIW after Medellin, I'm heading to Cali until Jan 1 for la Feria. Cali is absolutely fantastic between Christmas and NYE. I would say it's the best week of the year to visit.

    Declare Everything If Asked

Regardless of whether you have Global Entry or not, you do not have to declare anything if your not asked which is the case many times, at least from what I have experienced arriving at LAX having Global Entry.

However in Florida the other day, I was first asked if I was bringing back any tobacco or liquor, and then asked if I had anything to declare.

When I was asked that question, I told them everything I was bringing back which besides coffee included candy, crackers, and chips.

Technically your supposed to declare anything your bringing back that you didn't bring with you when you left the Country, it's that simple.

The declaration is not a function of acceptable items allowed or prohibited items that cannot be brought back like specific fruits, meats, etc.

The one Christmas I spent in Medellin I was able to find a girl on Christmas eve and visited a couple of casas on the day after Christmas and almost every day in the 5 days before Christmas. Fewer girls, but there were options.

However, I've got around 2,000 contacts, so I can always find someone, just can't always find the one I want.

The Christmas Eve girl gave me a couple of presents, BBFS and gonorrhea. Rang in the New Year with Santa driving the reindeer down my chimney every time I had to pee.

I'll be in Medellin for Christmas this year. Probably doing Christmas with the girlfriend's family, but will be taking a few days on my own.

In any P4 P situation, the glass is half full of money. Everything that follows only happens because you put the money into the mix. She might think you're the most handsome man in the world, she might be truly excited to be with you, but if she isn't getting paid she almost certainly will be doing something else.

With every girl 50% of the chemistry is coming out of your pocket.

I'm not exempting myself. If I wasn't spending my girlfriend wouldn't be there. No illusions whatsoever about that.
Decent analogy. The flaw though: vodka is the sex. You're getting that regardless. That's what your money brings you. The chemistry is the dry vermouth. Do you want plain / straight vodka or do you want to enhance it to a vodka martini? And hey, not everyone wants a martini, right? And that's ok. Some guys just want straight vodka. Fast, efficient. Maybe they don't want to spend the time talking. Maybe their Spanish is challenged. Whatever the reason, they'll still get the sex. But some like to elevate the experience. Yes, we both know the money is the key to opening that door. But the quality of the experience is enhanced with chemistry. Is it necessary? Clearly not. But it's been a wise investment for me, time and time again.

I will say, and this is not to be bragadocious. But I've had three girls give me some freebies. They say it is because they like me, I treat them with respect and they are comfortable with me. I promise you it is not because of my looks, my elite sexual performance or anything of that sort. Two of the three were in Medellin. One with a Vennie and one with a paisa. The paisa was actually bbfscip. I don't mean to claim chemistry leads to freebies. These were girls I've previously seen multiple times in a p4 p setup. But I'm 100% sure it wouldn't have happened without chemistry.

Bottom line, in my opinion, if you can find a way for a girl to want to please you, yes even P4P, your experience is significantly enhanced. And that's why I love Medellin. For whatever reason, the paisas are a little more personable, a little more real, and open to a little more chemistry. Just my experience. And guys, seriously, if I can develop chemistry, anyone can with minimal effort. I'm nearing 50, overweight, can't dance and I'm not fluent in Spanish. I do not overpay. But I'm telling you: genuine respect will open most doors.

Global Entry only works at US airports. It will not do anything for you at MDE.

Isn't a lot of the girls desperate after the holidays? Some guys on the thread mention that January and February are the best times to go.

Hookers are not my only source of sex so I do not need anything emotionally from them nor am I disillusioned by them by thinking they are my friend or they were really into it as some posters write. Because stop that money and they will not be into anything no matter how much chemistry there is.
Mr E you crack me up, Lol. Are you really like this or is it just an online persona?

PS, your non pros are looking for something as well, besides your dashing personality and sexual ability. You have to know this already.

And isn’t it just common sense that chemistry between 2 people matter, whether it be PFP, NP, whatever? Of course it does.
    It’s human nature.

    Sssss

They had the plane parked at two adjoining gates 12 A & 12 be and people chosen to be screened where sent down the adjacent ramp, screened, and then fed into the line to board. Didn't take long, full body pat down, they went thru my carry on, checked everything I had, and made me fire up my computer and cell phone, and then confiscated a bag of coffee I had because it weighed over 350 grams, and they had a sign posted about there being a weight limit of some sorts.

It was a Spirit employee doing the screening, he wasn't Colombian, and then they finally swabbed my hands to test for whatever, and I was allowed to board. They had quite a set-up with three people inspecting people, cubicles / tables set up, and the machine to analyze samples. I suspect this flight, and the other Spirit flight that departed 1/2 an hour earlier in the adjacent gate were identified for screening and set up where there were dual gates side by side, as the inspection area was of good size with like 5 different tables.

This happened to me about five years ago in Iceland of all places on a flight out of the Country. I have no clue as to why I was chosen. It's interesting because I have Global Entry and on both of my boarding passes they had TSA pre-check on them, and when I arrived in Florida I was wondering if there were going to be some further complications but none whatsoever, I went to a kiosk and it scanned my face, and five seconds later I got a printed receipt, was asked where I was coming from, what I was bringing back, and was on my way.

I have never seen a secondary inspection set up like this at the Rio Negro airport before because it was hidden out of sight were there was two adjacent boarding gates that meet about halfway down the boarding ramp, nor have I ever seen this before flying out of MDE on American, Jet Blue, Avianca, COPA or Mexicana but know it has to be happening with them as well.

As to why I was chosen for secondary screening, even with having Global Entry is a mystery to me, perhaps it was totally random, or perhaps for some other reason.

Regardless, don't have any bags of coffee with you greater than 350 grams in case you get tagged for SSSS, I had like 5 bags of coffee, and they were checking them out very carefully!
Sssss printed on your boarding pass is randomly generated. Has nothing to do about who you are or your TSA status. It means you will have a secondary inspection. Some airlines randomly just pull people from the boarding line. If you don't have sssss you won't be searched. At least you know ahead of time so if you have something you ahouldn't you can dump it prior to boarding.

You should try at a weekend, you won't get a seat. Usually there are only 1 or 2 groups of foriegners, the rest are all locals. So I doubt foreigners will affect the price at all.

You described the general trend accurately. The US dollar has in fact been steadily strengthening against world currencies, including the Colombian peso, since well before the summer election. I am referring to the incremental and accelerated spike above and beyond that trend that began as soon as polling began to break Petro's way about two weeks before election day. Petro knows this and it is why he and his people are distancing themselves from the peso's fall in the media on a daily basis. What happened to the UK pound hours after Liz Truss proposed a warmed over version of mid 1980's Reaganomics is another example of the same phenomenon. The dollar had been steadily making gains against European currencies well before the Truss mini budget, and then it took off like a rocket to reach an historical high. By comparison, against the euro the dollar matched its 20 year high but has not reached the level it did agains tthe pound recently. As I wrote earlier, I don't really care what's behind the dollar rise. I am very happy to enjoy the benefits. I do however like to have a holistic view of events. I'm apolitical in general and especially in Colombia. The local media are treating Petro fairly. I suspect the conservative media haven't gone after him over this issue because they are confident he won't be able to prevail against the wishes of the US and the Colombian landed gentry, especially when the working class begin to fall behind on high interest consumer loan payments and barrio shops stop extending credit for food purchases.

There are many other factors.
