I saw photos of this parque and noticed during the daytime (I plan to visit New Life during midday) there were lots of old timers sitting on the benches inside the park.

There used to be a short time hotel by the park but it is gone after COVID. Memorize the route and knowing where you are going will help you with safety. This route has better landmark as reference point so it is easier to remember.

You can consider taking the street Cr 49 to the park, turn to CL 54. Don't go toward west if you don't know what you are doing. The middle and the east side of the park are better than the west side of the park.

There are many restaurants on Cr 49. You can pick a 2nd floor one and have lunch and people watch. There are also several well-known restaurants. One is Versalles which is an old school type of restaurant that is rare in Medellin but common in Buenos Aires that may be interesting to you.

There is an university on CL 56 before you reach New Life. There are many decent small local Colombian restaurants that you can try. You can have breakfast or lunch there if you want to experience some local life style and food.

This is extremely bad advice especially if you are showering alone while in the room with the girl, it is giving her the opportunity to go through your pockets while you are in the shower.

Being followed is what I was getting at with my advice to avoid the park. It is nothing you should try after dark. During daylight hours it's not a problem. The worst part of it is the block just east of Avenida Oriental that is an open air flophouse and latrine for street people. The odors will take your breath away. That's another reason I recommend following east then turn north (left).

I'm still new to the area but I personally would not walk to New Life. Just take a Uber, it's literarily a dollar to get there and a dollar to get back to my hotel room. If you're comfortable walking then do you. I know it's a 6-10 min drive but it's really not that bad.

It appears that New Life and Energy Spa (near the stadium) are the two better known daytime casas in town. Wondering if those who have visited both can give their feedback on how these two establishments compare. I heard that Energy is pricier and at least on Google feedback, the reviews are very mixed. Thanks for reporting. On Google Maps, the walk from Parque Botero to New Life doesn't look too bad as it's going in the direction away from the rougher streetwalker area.

If you stay there, you will see several anti sex tourist signs. In addition, you will sign that you will not bring prostitutes there. However, they do allow 3 guests per week free of charge. I have never had a problem there. But, I insist the girls I bring there dress appropriately. I would say if you are discreet, don't cause problems and aren't obvious, you won't have a problem. The security there is great. They did boot a few 18 year olds out last week, not because of girls but because of loud music and the entire floor smelled like weed. It is NOT a party hotel, so to anyone reading, please don't ruin this place. Also, if you are a 10-girl a week guy, at best you'll have to use a love motel in addition. But with common sense, it's a great place. Good location. For what you pay, you get great accomodations. And security is great. They check ID, make a copy and tell the girl that she's not leaving the door without me with her.
