I would not worry so much about your chances of having a good time in Medellin because of the Holly week. I think there is plenty of fun to have regardless. I took advantage of last minute inexpensive airfares and I am on a short trip to Medellin and Bogota. Mostly I am resume building this trip by hitting traditional spots since I am traveling solo. At the very least I can say I have been there.
