So tomorrow is the resume beginning of Phase 2 of the quarantine. Certain industries including construction and manufacturing are allowed to resume operations. Companies and workers are supposed to register on a database that authorities will use to verify whether people they stop are allowed to be out and / or on public transportation.

Since yesterday the registration web site has been down more often than up. The criticism on twitter has been blistering. It led to the so-called learning period and no fines for the first couple of days. I mentioned in an earlier post that a noticeably much higher number of business have been open this weekend and in the process of preparing to open tomorrow. Independent restaurants, barrio food shops and the like are more active than any time since before the quarantine.

There is a bit of controversy about reopening the economy there because it has the highest number of cases and its health system is under heavy pressure. This is going to be an interesting week.

The Czech Republic is open for international arrivals and departures since mid last week according to a report I saw on the BBC. There are not many places to go of course. I think Sweden is also open.
