Wondering if anyone has rented a car? I usually take the taxis, but then I see an attractive girl on the street who probably would take a poke, and cannot get the taxi driver to stop. I also have picked up some young pretty girls while out walking around, but the temperature is getting hotter. Might be better to pickup a street walker if I had a rental car? Any guidance on this please? Is it expensive? Insurance issues?

Price is about $50 a day fully insured, unlimited range.

I've done it twice and regretted it twice. Sure there is good convenience but an Uber is under $3 to anywhere in the tourist area. I've driven all the way to Santa Martha, Barranquilla, Manzanillo, Baru, even all the way out to Motel Indiana and it is nuts! I have zero clue how there aren't more accidents because these people drive so close where bumpers almost touch. The paved roads aren't that great (huge potholes) and if you happen to drive off into areas like La Boquilla those dirt roads are no joke. Potholes everywhere, random people on motorcycles cutting in and out in front of the car, random dogs in the street and the busses don't care. Parking can be an issue unless you're going to shopping centers.

I had other annoyances such as Pico Placa, I was constantly getting pulled over in Centro because I didn't know, and there were speed traps as well. Flooding is another major issue especially in front of Pametto Sunset where the water can reach up to your knees in heavy rains during high tide.

If your focus is that you want to drive around and pick up girls like you're in Miami, Cartagena is not the place to do it, I would suggest get out the cab talk to the girl then take another cab. It's 12.000 to anywhere in the tourist area.

No. But I have have rented a car in Barranquilla to drive to Cartagena for the day. It is just like renting a car anywhere else. The insurance is on my credit card so that is no issue. If staying in the same city I find it pricey at $50 though when I am only paying $2 a pop for Indriver.

Thankfully it wasn't my flight. I was on Jet Blue, I saw a few on my flight while boarding but thankfully they sat up front while I got my usual seat in the back of the plane so I can get off faster to get through the immigration line quicker but when I got on the line I was behind the LATAM passengers. The LATAM plane came from ATL.

I'm not sure if you're a part of the WhatsApp groups but there's a funny video going around where some of the Sistas were in Androgeno doing what looks like a sorority dance and the chicas and brothers face expression says it all. What ended up happening to Cartagena was certain people opened their mouth and it attracted the crowd who likes to be loud for attention. My post from the end of last year where I got off the boat with my chica and the loud mouth Sistas where doing their shaming shit (where they have a loud conversation about a stranger so the stranger can hear what they are saying to start a confrontation) was enough to let me know to find another city where they they are not. But they are showing the world why so many of us brother are getting on planes to get away from them and experience tranquillity.

I arrived with 2 and got a table. I then brought in 8 more to join my table. I was only there for about an hour but I left the 8 girls there at the table and went to Getsemeni with the 2 girls I arrived with.

I got each girl 2 drinks of their choice before I bounced. Most just wanted a bottle of water.

I would cross Space off the list to sit under some good AC and get girls. A drink is another option but it's a fire hazard. If you thought Delirium was packed and hard to navigate this place is 3 x worse. So I've only had 3 days total in Cartagena during a 3 week duration, 2 days on arrival and 1 day on departure.

With in those 3 days I can say based on my last 2 trips the new annoyance are "city girls" trying to "turn up". I thought the jordans, beer bellies, yankee fittits mongers were bad but these fuzzy bedroom shoes, triple nose rings, heavy lashes and bright color weaves are on another level. Upon arriving a Latam plane arrived infront of mine and there they were. Loud AF on the immigration line, disorganized when speaking to the the immigration officer, when the porter came to do the whole "bag assistance" thing they got louder, then they couldn't lift the bags to put them on the xray machine and got louder looking in my direction like I'm supposed to help them, I just put my shits on the belt and walked through. I'm outside by the exchange waiting for my chica to pull the car up and they came out and the cute short taxi girl with the glasses tried to get them a taxi and they got loud again, a few other brothers were there, we all looked at each other and just shook our heads.

I'm surprised no one mentioned how they are digging up the streets in Centro, at quick glance looks like they are laying down SDR35, (green sewer drainage pipe) to handle the flooding during the heavy rains. They were digging up the side by Delirium and the other side by the bakery (north of Space). Many areas still fenced off. I didn't stay in El Laguito or Centro as I wanted to avoid certain types of people and annoyances.

Traffic also got a bit more complicated. Looks like they installed new medians behind La Serrezuela Mall to prevent left turns when exiting, I also vaguely remember the same thing down by Getsemani on Calle 30 by the bridge when we were going to Seven 7.

Upon leaving, I completely forgot to do the ChkMIG and I was not asked for it, I also ignored the Contact Tracing Email Jet Blue wanted me to fill out. They pointed me to the BIOMIG machine instead of a immigration officer, and it took longer because the machine took 3 tries to scan my passport, then I didn't realize I had to get close to the camera. I thought it was supposed to take a picture of my entire face like Global Entry but looks likes it wanted a picture of my eyes.

A good trip besides being there Holy Week, too many damn families and annoying kids. Happy I went away from the gringo tourist areas and checked out the local vacation areas, maybe another time when its not a Colombia holiday because the lines were long for everything.

I don't have any plans on returning to Colombia this year, most of my chicas are now state side and these city girls trying to "turn up" all the time makes any daytime or nighttime activity an embarrassment due to association by default.

Yo I can't open pictures to see them bigger but the hair looks the same. Anyway I already left Cartagena. Its not how it was when I was there before. Everything is more expensive, hotels, girls, food, activities and club restrictions. Only Space and ISIS was open and hardly had girls. I found a different girl for 500.000 COP an hour who had similar a similar hairstyle. Not the best decision but pickings were slim to none on looks alone.
