With so many chicas available and so many reviews, I don't get why anyone would just give up their control and call over an unknown or at least have a short "get to know you" conversation.

The most central and popular mongering venues in Cartagena (CTG) the Clock Tower, La Dolce Vita (LDV), and Playa Hollywood yielded the most disappointing results for me for a variety of reasons, including scams, requests for payment up front, and ridiculous requests for 50 K COP in "taxi money."

Not a surprising report on your CTG experiences, keep in mind that CTG is probably Colombia's number one tourist destination and hence what you experienced is as a result of lots of foreigners with money being there over the years and yes the Secret Service follies there haven't helped either. I was there 10 years ago and didn't have any requests for money up front, etc like you experienced. Time changes things as you experienced.

All but one of the independent chicas that I pulled in CTG asked for payment up front or at least to see the money before the session. I found a mutually agreeable solution with most of these chicas, but I had to abort three sessions in one week in CTG because of these issues. Nothing like this happened to me in a week in MDE; it only happened to me one time each in Costa Rica and the Dominican Republic, and none of those chicas did anything as drastic as threatening to call the police.

All but one of the independent chicas that I pulled in CTG asked for payment up front or at least to see the money before the session. I found a mutually agreeable solution with most of these chicas, but I had to abort three sessions in one week in CTG because of these issues. Nothing like this happened to me in a week in MDE; it only happened to me one time each in Costa Rica and the Dominican Republic, and none of those chicas did anything as drastic as threatening to call the police.

The two requests for 50 K in "taxi money" smelled like a scam to me; perhaps one or both of those chicas did not even expect to get the full payment and merely planned to shake me down for 50 K, which could be profitable if they pulled it on enough guys. None of the other chicas asked for "taxi money," including the Tinder users that actually took taxis at their own expense to get to my apartment.

Reports like this make me not want to go. I absolutely refuse (after enough bad sessions) to pay up front! The last time I did I was in San Jose & the chica had me put the cash on a table by the TV. Just as we started the session, she had to get up to "check her phone!" The session went south from there. She had put the cash in her purse, returned to the cama & all of a sudden, everything hurt, couldn't do this position, etc. , etc, etc! Never again. I chose the location of my Old City apartment due in part to its proximity to the Clock Tower, which had struck me as the single best mongering venue in CTG in my pre-trip research. I knew that the area was outdoors and had thus anticipated and prepared for the sweltering heat (even at night). What I did not expect from my pre-trip research was the smell of horse manure from the horse-drawn carriages that frequent the area. That combination of factors did not make it an appealing environment for me and did not help to get me in the mood for a session, despite the area's charming visual appeal at night.

More importantly, the physical environment is not conducive to the degree of pre-session interviewing and rapport-building that I would normally do with independent chicas. The chicas there tended to keep conversations brief, no more than two to five minutes. The brusque and business-like attitude and atmosphere of CTG in general must have been a factor, but I imagine that the combination of heat and smell and the dearth of seating for both chicas and their prospective clients must have further encouraged both parties to keep conversations shorter. I did notice that I tended to have more fulfilling conversations with the chicas who were sitting either on the benches by the gate in the city walls or in the empty vendor booths on the other side, perhaps because we were both more comfortable. The chicas standing in heels in the open plaza for hours on end must have been uncomfortable, and it showed in the very brief exchanges that I had with them, most of which went nowhere.

I made my first CTG pull from the Clock Tower on the Saturday night on which I arrived. The chica in question was a blonde MILF from Medellin (MDE) with a big booty and long, curly hair down to her ass; I have forgotten her name, but do not confuse her with Carito, AKA Paulina, another blonde MILF from MDE who also operates at the Clock Tower and gave me good service. This other chica and I had agreed to 200 K COP for a 1 hour session. When we reached my apartment, she did not ask for payment up front but did ask that I place the money in plain sight, to which I had no objection. She counted the 200 K COP and falsely claimed that we had agreed to $200 USD for 1 hour. I recognized this claim from my pre-trip research as a variant of the "I meant dollars, not pesos" scam that many CTG chicas try to pull. This case differed in that she tried to pull the scam before the session, not after. I opened the door to my apartment and instructed her to leave, to which she responded by asking for 50 K COP in taxi money. I explained that I would not pay for cab fare when the Clock Tower was such a short distance away (we had walked there in five minutes), and such a short cab ride would certainly not cost 50 K. I stood firm and continued to gesture for her to leave, which she eventually did, empty-handed.

I also had to abort my second pull later that night due to payment issues. This chica, whose name I have forgotten, was a hot, young, (early 20's), and petite paisa from MDE with impeccable abs and lighter skin than me that I met in Space later that night. I walked her back to my nearby apartment, where she said "pagame" ("pay me") just as we were about to start. I explained to her that I would pay her after the session, which she would not accept. I offered to place the money in plain sight instead, which she did not accept either. The look on her face suggested to me that she was disappointed to learn that I was not a sucker. She instead asked for taxi money (not a specific sum), which I refused, since we were within walking distance of Space. I planned to return to Space in order to continue my hunting anyway and offered to escort her back there, which she accepted.

My pre-trip research on LDV had indicated to me that it would probably not be a great venue for me, but I figured that I should at least try such a prominent venue once, with very low expectations. My actual experience at LDV later that week was even worse than those low expectations, and in retrospect I wish that I had avoided LDV entirely. With that said, I do disagree with previous reporting on the purely physical attractiveness of the chicas there; I found them hotter than most previous reporters and would say that the only hotter girls that I saw in CTG were in the two strip clubs, Isis and Pleyclub.

I think that previous reporters may have rated the LDV chicas' physical attractiveness lower than me because of the chicas' attitudes, which may have influenced the reporters' perceptions of the chicas' appearance. Even at a purely physical level, a chica's attitudes are often evident in her facial expressions, which may make her appear less attractive. A 10 can look like a 7 with a frown or a creepy facial expression. The attitude that they exuded was so thick that you could practically cut it with a knife, and you could often detect it from their facial expressions or other body language without talking to them. I used the word "creepy" above, which I believe is the best way to describe the demeanor of one LDV chica that was trying to get my attention. She was totally my type in physical terms – blonde, statuesque, and voluptuous – but her creepy demeanor bugged me out. From the way that she was staring at me, I could not tell if she was signaling that she wanted to have sex with me, kill me, or both.

I spotted a thick brunette with big tits & ass that seemed more approachable and went to the bathroom to empty my bladder before approaching her, but she was gone by the time that I returned (more on her below). Shortly thereafter, a tall and voluptuous paisa brunette in her early-mid 20's with an even friendlier demeanor entered – she even smiled! In fact, she may have had the only smile that I saw at LDV, except for a petite spinner who seemed to be having the time of her life dancing by herself; the petite spinner was not my type, but another gringo pulled her right away while the other chicas just sat there moping without prospective customers. Anyway, I immediately approached this smiling paisa from MDE, whose name I have forgotten, and it was not long before we agreed to a 1 hour session. The other problem with LDV is that the music was too loud for much conversation, so I did not spend as much time on pre-session screening as I would have otherwise. I would like to think that I could have avoided what happened next with a more thorough interview, but who knows.

It emerged during the cab ride back to my Old City apartment that this chica spoke fluent English with a minimal accent – better than anyone else that I met in my two weeks in Colombia. She must have either lived in the USA Or spent a significant amount of time around gringos. I found it odd that she waited until the cab ride to reveal her fluency in English, as I had clearly identified myself as a North American during our conversation at LDV (which was entirely in Spanish). My only explanation is that she concealed her fluency in English until after I had pulled the trigger because she knew that experienced mongers may be suspicious or wary of chicas who speak fluent English. Curiously, another chica that I pulled from Tinder (see Carito, AKA Paulina) also did not reveal her knowledge of English until she began updating me via WhatsApp on the status of her late arrival for our session by taxi.

We arrived at my apartment, and she asked for payment up front. I indicated that I would pay her after the session, not before, which she rejected. I offered to place the money in plain sight instead, which she also rejected by asking rhetorically (in English), "what is that going to do for me?" She asked what the nature of my objection was (in English): "do you think that I am not going to fuck you?" She further claimed that paying up front is standard procedure in CTG because of the Secret Service scandal and because North American "escorts" (in her words) receive payment up front. I corrected her by explaining that the typical procedure for North American escorts is to leave the payment in a white envelope in plain sight, where the escort can collect it after the session. She responded by calling me a liar, to which I responded by opening the door and motioning for her to leave.

She then asked for 50 K COP in "taxi money. " If she had not asked for such a ridiculous amount of "taxi money," I would have given her 8 K COP to cover the actual cost of a cab ride from my Old City apartment back to LDV (she had just witnessed me paying 8 K COP for our ride there). Given this insult to my intelligence, I refused to give her any taxi money, to which she responded by threatening to call the police and taking out her cell phone. I responded by laughing at her, instructing her more firmly to leave, threatening to call the police myself if she did not leave, and taking out my own cell phone. She got the point and left empty-handed, yelling that "the police are coming" as I shut the door behind her. I went to the balcony of my apartment, which had a view of the street, to make sure that she walked away. As luck would have it, there were a few police officers with motorcycles about a block away. She went over to them and talked to them for about a minute before walking away. The police did not come and I heard nothing further about the incident, so I presume that they did not take her seriously.

I went to the Clock Tower later that night. Lo and behold, guess who I found? The chica that I had originally wanted to approach at LDV before she left when I went to the bathroom. I approached her right away this time, and she explained that she had left LDV because she found the atmosphere there so bad. She used some choice language to describe the other chicas at LDV, with which I would not disagree. She indicated that she had thought about approaching me at LDV but decided against it because she could tell from my body language that I was not having a good time there. I have forgotten her name, but she is from Baranquilla. We eventually agreed to a 1 hour session and commiserated about the crowd and the atmosphere at LDV during the walk back to my Old City apartment.

Once we reached my apartment, she asked for payment up front, which I refused. I explained that I would pay her after the session, which she rejected. I proposed as an alternative that I leave the payment in plain sight for her to collect after the session, which she accepted. I had learned from previous mongering experiences that chicas who want to see the money up front (even without taking it) often provide a lower quality of service, which turned out to be true in this case as well. She would hardly perform in any position other than doggie and ended up finishing me with a mediocre BBBJ. I also realized too late that she had a negative attitude, just like the other chicas at LDV about which we had been commiserating; I had mistaken her generally negative attitude for specific and legitimate concerns about the atmosphere and other chicas at LDV, which I shared. It turned out that her attitude was just as bad as that of the other chicas at LDV; there must be a lot of inter-chica cattiness there too.

I did not get around to visiting Playa Hollywood until the afternoon of my last day in CTG (a Saturday), before I left that night. The beach had been a very low priority for me, given what I had read about the scene there in my pre-trip research. The amount and quality of talent on the beach was very limited, which may have been due to bad weather earlier that day. I soon decided that I was wasting my time and instead arranged what turned out to be a very satisfying last session in CTG via Tinder.

With great respect for the contributions on this board from tourists respectful of Medellin culture. I wanted to recollect my visit to Medellin from December 2015.

To those wondering if early December (first 2 weeks of December) are good times to visit Medellin. I would say: absolutely.

My first and only trip to Medellin was last December - 2nd weekend of the month. I stayed for 4 days and it was an epic experience.

However. You *must* do your homework. Sifting through these boards will reveal a gem of information. But of course. Synthesizing.

That is the gift we can give to other members.

Note: I do not speak Spanish (save for a few choice phrases) - I traveled alone. And had nobody guiding me.

I stayed in an airbnb apartment in Parque Liars (chica friendly) - and it was a secure, high-end place for approx. $105/ night. Know that you can secure housing for far cheaper. But if you are traveling to Medellin for your first time and do not speak Spanish. I recommend paying a premium for secure, high-end, well-reviewed, accountable accommodations. I am thinking of staying at Charlee next time for contrast.

Despite not speaking any Spanish. I had zero problems. Just be observant, study body language and expressions, and have google translate on your phone handy. Whenever I need to have some detailed conversation (particularly with women) - I had my google translate app up and running and it was very effective. The chicas are on the their phones in Medellin now as is. Being that SnapChat, Facebook, Instagram, and social media is global. And Colombians have arrived in the social media space for sure. So it's natural for them to like to look at a phone and not strange to them at all. In fact, it was a great way for me to break the ice with Colombian women and build rapport.

This review is geared more towards the non-Spanish speaking traveler who is visiting Medellin to see the world-class experience with Colombian women: I recommend going to strip clubs like La Isla and Fase II as your core visits each night. Yes. You may pay a bit more for experiences with women here. But it's a safe, legal and well regulated environment with some of the most beautiful women you'll ever have the privilege of seeing. I was very pleased with multiple visits here. I was also able to see women I met at these clubs outside of the club to welcome to where I was staying. I did go to some of the more localized spots (barra ejecutiva for example) - and had a good time and highly recommend it (it's a much more raw, authentic, on the ground Medellin experience) - but I preferred the clubs like face II and la isla because it's more of a world-class representation of Medellin for the non-Spanish speaking traveler who wants more of world-class experience.

I did also use Tinder. But I actually found I was meeting non-working women often via Tinder in what was more of a traditional dating feel (I'm 36 year old And take pride in my appearance. Have dark European (Italian) looks. So I blend in fairly well in Medellin) - and I was amazed at how sensual, open, friendly, and passionate Colombian women are. The key is to respect the local culture. Be quiet and observe when necessary. Don't draw attention to yourself. Be confident / assertive / cautious / aware in how you conduct yourself in public. And do your homework to know where you're going. If a cab driver can't understand you. Just show him the address in google maps on your phone. Know what the going rates are for cab rides, casa / strip club fees. And GFE / PSE standard rates. Don't be cheap! The dollar is ridiculously strong in Colombia (if you're coming from the US) - and even the higher priced economy in Medellin is a bargain. You didn't come all the way to Medellin to save $17 - enjoy it.

I think it's also key to be friendly to fellow mongers. Although I was visiting solo. I met up with 3 other mongers who were also solo. And we linked up on multiple nights to visit casas / clubs / neighborhoods together.

I'm thinking of heading back in Nov / Dec. Again this year as Medellin has been on my mind ever since I left. Am headed to Frankfurt, Paris, and Amsterdam next month. Anybody have some quick pieces of advice for the scene there?

The girls change daily but not so much on a weekly basis. If you spend a week at the Mansion you will most likely meet all the girls that show up on a regular basis. And if you spend 2 weeks at the Mansion you will see a lot of the same girls.

As far as the best room at M!. Well that is easy. The one you can get is the best one. Jajaja.

Since you are only looking to stay a few nights there will probably be some rooms available. But usually you have to book at least a couple of months in advance to get a room at M1.

Have others had consistently or generally positive results at New Life, and is that why it seems so popular among gringo mongers?

Have others had similarly disappointing results at Paris and Latinas? I am wondering if the lower quality of my sessions at those two casas was attributable to the luck of the draw, the general quality of those two casas, or the problem of "sloppy seconds" in the afternoon.

Have you found that you received a higher quality of service at the more expensive casas, e. G. Energy, Loutron, etc?

Are there any MDE casas where chicas are consistently or usually willing (or unwilling) to "upgrade" to BBBJ in exchange for a tip?

Are there any MDE casas where chicas hang out in a lobby, bar, or waiting area, instead of retreating to their back rooms after the line-up viewing?

Excellent report, let's have more posts like this. Here are some thoughts on your questions:

1. New Life is popular because of the higher number of chicas, mostly. I doubt that quality of service or physical attributes are much different. Be skeptical of any generalizations about casas. There is so much turnover among chicas that your experience will vary from trip to trip and even day to day.

2. Paris and Latinas are definitely smaller and lower quality in my experience, but see my prior comment on casa inconsistency generally.

3. Service is not higher quality at Energy & Loutron, but some regard the chica attractiveness as more consistent, and certainly the rooms and facilities are nicer. In my experience you will always have to pay extra for BBBJ, if it is even available, for example.

4. Some will and some won't, and I'm not aware of casas that have consistently enforced policies on the BBBJ issue. At Energy a tip is always required and they don't always deliver.

5. Lindas Chicas is an evening casa (I believe it opens at 6 pm) with a bar. Occasionally you can persuade a chica at New Life to sit with you and have a beer, but usually after a session not before. If you want the bar environment go to one of the strip clubs. Fase Dos is known for girls with silicone. In fact one mansion girl told me she was fired from Fase Dos because after 6 months working there she refused to get implants. You can find detailed reviews of casas and strip clubs in the Medellin map and Medellin lists threads (this Medellin reports thread has a lot of clutter between actual trip reports.).
