When it comes to some type of friendship with the girls, there are extremes which I'm uncomfortable with. There are guys who are only looking for girls they can abuse, verbally or physically. If you need to treat someone like shit to feel like a man, stay away.

The other extreme is a genuine long term relationship or marriage. I'm not saying you shouldn't go live in Colombia, settle down, find a nice girl and marry her. I'm saying you need to think long and hard before making that leap with a working girl.

Friendship, however, shouldn't be based on someone's profession, and working relationships don't need to be devoid of friendship. You just need to be aware of your situation, and set and respect boundaries.

If you visit a place once a year for 5 days, the chance of developing any real friendship is slim. You might find girls you want to see again, assuming they remain unchanged, but that's not friendship. Unless you spend a lot of time in one place, don't worry about it. Either find girls you want to repeat with, or find new girls. Whatever works best for you.

If you're living in Medellin full time, why wouldn't you develop some level of friendship with the girls? Even if you don't want to see a girl every week, she's still a useful contact. Whether you're looking for 2 chubby girls to help a buddy check off an item on his bucket list, or looking for a guy with a truck to help you move, your best source is your contacts. If you're looking for a particular type of girl, the girls you're friendly with will find her for you. If you cut them in for 50 k they'll even negotiate a lower price for you.

I'm on both sides of the fence on this issue. With the right girl, the sex gets better with familiarity. There's also the excitement of finding someone new, especially when she exceeds your expectations.

But, whether I'm repeating with a favorite or trying out someone new, I guarantee, I'm only doing it for me.

If you've already gotten your feet wet in El Centro, don't bother with P. Lleras. The two times I visited Llleras it was mostly foreigners, and locals trying to sell trinkets or panhandeling. The beggars were aggressive and wouldn't take small coins, they demanded a 2 K note! Even up to 8 pm when I left, it was mostly dead--El Centro has more activity at noon. Parque Lleras is for people who don't know Spanish, want a safe haven, and don't mind paying 250 K for a chica. It is a good place to meet and have random conversations with foreigners though. If you're missing out on anything it's at La Mayorista, just south of Lleras. La Mayorista is one block of bars and hotels with SWs at local rates, is worth checking out, especially if you happen to be in the south of the city, since it's quite a ways from El Centro.

What ambience? You are telling him to go to skidrow nearby; Botero, and El Raudel have a safe festive ambiences for the most part, with police and security guard presence. If the area is small stay in that area. Each time I go to Botero I see foreigners having a good time, even senior citizens speaking English. Clearly, the city gov has an interest in keeping that area safe for tourists to spend money. I've been there at night with no problems (up till 10 pm, not 12-3 am to be specific; I prefer not to stay out late in Mede where it's easy to score in the day, unlike LOS Angeles where you have to stay out till 3 am.) But yeah stay away from skidrow, or areas where it's not necessary to go to.

I agree with Surfer. For me and my experiences I have found that while money is the most important factor. With all of them I have met in the past and currently know several who are less jaded than most and who appreciate the more friendly nature and environment. I prefer to build some level of chemistry because for me it makes the time far more enjoyable and if a girl is not interested in that style than its my choice if I want to continue. I don't begrudge anyone who sees it differently than I do and prefers the get in and get out method. There's nothing wrong with being civil and enjoying companionship but I'll be fucked if I ever call a prostitute a friend of mine.
