Hi,

I do not have US passport but live in the US and for my passport need a visitor visa to visit Colombia. After I submitted the online application, it says the payment needs to happen in COP with a Colombian debit or credit card which I don't have. Talking to the consulate they say the only alternative is to drive to the nearest consulate in US and Pay in person. Nearest consulate is too far for me. Any suggestions on people who went through this? I don't know anyone in Colombia so I can pay them in USD. We are talking 50 $ initially and $80 after visa approval. Please let me know. Thanks.

I want to make a couple friends since I'm here for a month+, was wondering if you guys had any tips as to groups, both in person and online, where I can meet people who are here longer term. Figure a commonality like mongering would make forming bonds easier. I'm in my early 20's so any advice is appreciated even if it might seem common sense to those of you with more life exp.

Early 20's? Wherever you plan on staying, find the nearby hostels. You'll find plenty of English speaking friends. Not sure how many will be interested in mongering. After all, when you've got more women than you can handle trying to catch your eye, why go somewhere and pay a girl?
