Posts: 1643Covid testing at Cendriata near Avenida 70
For the second time. I got my Covid testing done at Cendriata Sede in La America barrio, less than a 10 mil COP taxi ride from the Dorado La 70 Hotel, or the next metro station from Estadio headed toward San Javier, named Floresta.
For some strange reason the taxi drivers and Uber drivers have a fairly hard time finding this place, even though it's a straight walk from the FloreIsta metro station.
Tell the drivers to search for this on their phones - "Cendriata Sede Medellin" and the address should pop up as Cra. 80 (same as Avenida 80), #44 B-91 in the La America Barrio.
There were some changes worth noting, they opened at 6:30* am Now instead of 6 am Like before. I was there early and first in line. By the time the door opened* the line was 5 people deep. By the time I was there for 10 minutes, there was 10 people waiting. Being first in line is a great advantage, I was in and out in 15 minutes. The people are nice and helpful and my 1/3 Spanish fluency got me through with no problem and the lab tech help me fill out the one form. You want to test that is done by nasal swab.
The cost was under $20 and they accept credit cards. The results were in my Inbox by the time I was back at my hotel.
I forwarded the email with the results to the lobby desk at my hotel and had them print two hard copies for me and I tipped them 5 mil COP.

You would leave without passing thru immigration. Then when you return you would have to deal with the "missing" entry and exit stamps at both Ven and Col immigrations. It is a very risky affair. Far easier to just leave the country then "lose" your passport, then enter on anoother.

Posts: 4027ICU means it is touch and go. No one is sent there unless well, you know. Based on what I saw if she recovers she will never be the same. Given her age it is especially heartbreaking. Yes, the crowd did have a go at the guy before the police stepped in just as I was arriving.

The main thing here is a lot of times that such relationship is not equal. Especially if you're for example much older, or not so good looking as her. She knows that SHE is the catch. And that she can demand things and if you won't give them to her, you know that she'll be gone. And especially if you have given up things for her along the way, you're trapped into this negative spiral. So be very very careful!
Anyway if you still want to, you can at least do some simple quick tests to see if this is a girl to avoid: Leave some money in your room that she'll 100% notice and then give her all the opportunity to steal it. Some of these girls will! Actually, once it was more of an incident and I didn't leave the money on purpose, but this girl also seemed like a sweetheart, yet she stole money out of my wallet! Also is this girl doing drugs, think twice! And if she tells you she's falling in love with you, but still wants you to pay her, then you know enough too. Just some simple pointers. But I'd say, like others already said here: Run away!

At the Hotel M club, there are many gringos that show up that do not stay at the Hotel. One night there were about 20+ girls at the club, and I was the only gringo there. They will go with you to your Hotel.

As far as Colombia not being a GFE destination, well your correct that for those with no Spanish speaking skills it can be a challenge to get this, for the Spanish speakers though it can be off the charts.
And everything covered and a bare bones experience, well this can be quite the contrary.
Just my personal opinions.

Posts: 261Robbed at knife point at Centro
Hey guys,
Just to repeat for the 1 millionth time on the forum, be careful in Centro. Walking through that area at night was always sketchy, but with the new gates there, the Plaza is even more devoid of people at night. I didn't know that and I tried to take a shortcut from the SW corner of the Plaza (around the end of Calle 52) to Ave De Greiff where the strip clubs like Conejitas are. Previously the path around the outside of the museum to De Greiff was de-populated at night with maybe only homeless and trannies walking around so I didn't like going around outside. That's why I typically take a diagonal path through the Plaza. I've done this many times so I thought I knew what to do. But I realized too late that apparently now both paths are pretty empty. About 200 ft in 2 guys rush in from behind me and demanded my phone with both holding knives. I normally look behind me every once in a while if I'm in a sketchy place, but it didn't occur to me they can mark you from somewhat far away and run at you before you notice. Anyways I wasn't going to fight that. I just put the phone on the ground and let them take it. Phone was old, so not a big financial loss. But if you're tense and the thieves are tense, obviously things can go very bad.
As another poster said, I think after 8 pm the risk / reward of going to either Santa Fe in Bogota or Centro in Medellin starts tilting towards more risk. To be sure, I still enjoy both areas, in fact picked up a pretty one next day around the south side of the Plaza at 2 pm, but no more late night outings there for sure. The girls there are rougher and more hardcore, more aggressive trannies, more homeless, more groups of guys hanging around for no apparent reason.

How do I find the Escort Agencies in Colombia? Can you point me in the right direction? I see you mentioned it in your post.

As for the ease of the scene, it's going to vary depending on the individual. For the newbies, there's not much easier than staying at the Mansion. Even for an experienced monger, it's not a bad way to get started in Medellin. Admittedly, there are cheaper and better accommodations, but there are some benefits.
The casas do lack in the GFE department, but at 50 k for 30 minutes you can search for the good performers without spending much.
For the budget monger from the US, Medellin, or Bogota is hard to beat. It's much more accessible than southeast Asia and it's possible to get by for under $50 per day, including 1 or 2 girls.
However, everyplace has some drawbacks.

One thing I've always done when I'm hanging out in Parque Lleras is to walk down to Parque Poblado to catch a taxi. They are lined up in front of the park. I've had a few that I had to remind to reset the meter, and a few where the meter ran up quicker than normal, but mostly I've had good luck.
Another option for the disco and party people is to stay in Laureles. Plenty of clubs there.

The FB poster said that the crowd of people thought he jumped to commit suicide and landed on the girl and were about to finish him off until somebody said they saw him fall. I'm not so sure that should have made a difference. Either waty he was a careless.

If you wish to stay longer than 6 months you will need some other type of visa. If you're not already fluent in Spanish, one way is to get a student visa. If you prepay for 3 months of classes you can get a 6 month student visa. Before you ask, yes you have to actually take the classes. 3 months of Spanish classes costs around 3 million pesos.
