When abroad I always use ATM's. Is there an ATM in the arrival hall of Medellin international airport (Rio Negro)?

What do you think? Is there ANY airport in the world where there are no ATMs?

Years ago, I reported here a funny story. I was queuing to withdraw my money from the ATM at the Medellin airport, when the guy before me left the ATM very angry and disappointed. I asked why, if the ATM was not in service, and he replied "These ATMs dispense ONLY US DOLLARS!! But I want COP!"

That silly guy saw the ATM screen offering $100,000, $200,000, $300,000,.... And he thought it was dispensing DOLLARS (!!).
I wonder if he also thought if his daily allowance was enough to withdraw 100,000 dollars?

As long as Colombia has 42% of the formal incomes in the hands of 10% of the population -violence is choosing between a life long slavery and a quick death or a small, small chance of getting away with the money. Still, it's rational.

15 families owns Colombia. They care about themselves and their internal competition. Colombia is the land they use to exploit. It's the same pattern in Argentina.

My excellent teacher in Spanish, Gustavo, has a passion for his work. Since he is stuck in Estrato 3, he can never get a salary or position that is what less talented Estrato 4 people have; EPS (health care is a joke), salary is just above poverty line, he belongs officially to the middle class, but he is trying with all his effort to find a country to find a new life in.

Foreigner investers know about the tunnel and all that, but market capitalism is dynamic and is in constant crisis of any kind, but still growing. Colombia, having adopting US policy, will have new type of crisis.

In terms of FDI and kidnappings there is a strong connection. Colombia's army, thinking peace had arrived and showing of to the girls with elegant uniforms and fancy titles, wage races, instead can once again meet the horrors being alone with PDS-disorder.

Sorry adding a post to the issue unrelated to Medellin. But for Venezuelan women, you better go to Cucuta, Colombia overall. The service is better organized, reasonable price, and more security.

Interestingly, on my last visit to Cartagena I met 3-4 girls coming from Venezuela. It never happened to me before. It means life there is getting tougher and tougher. My best wishes to all Venezolanos and Venezolanas.
