1 year ago exchange rate was around 3800. Last time it was 2800 was summer of 2018. I'm guessing he screwed up punching 3800 into the calculator and didn't realize it.

Taxi from the airport 1 year ago was 90 k. It hasn't been 70 k since 2017.

Taxi rates from the airport are set by the government and go up every year. The same is true for the metered yellow taxis and the airport buses.

If you go upstairs to the departures level you might be able to strike a deal with a yellow taxi dropping someone off.

I agree. The United States allowed prices to rise. Thailand allowed prices to rise. Mexico allowed prices to rise. France allowed prices to rise. Agreed. My first meetings are usually a few hours. But they always want to meet again for longer and the vibe gets better each time we meet.

I rather spend most of the day together and send them home late. The 2 girls I hooked up with in Bogota left my place as late as 3 am before I decided I wanted to spend a weekend with them.

To be honest and so you guys don't get the wrong idea: spending the night is risky and I'm not recommending anyone here do it because you have to be smart with who you choose. I'm taking a calculated risk here and I'm confident enough with my approach. Not to sound like a dick, but I don't think the average monger is as capable. I had a friend take home girls from strip clubs and a club like Gustos without any issues though. Never tried it with these types of girls (pros). Not my thing.

You can at least vet a girl you been talking to online for weeks but with a girl you just met at a club you are taking a huge risk.

Walk-ins are all I've done but you may want to book ahead depending on the amenities you want or are looking for in a room. It's really convenient and they don't even check cedula (during my visits).

In Nov. And now in Jan. Both times the wait to clear customs was an hour and 20 minutes. More upsetting to me was in the line to clear it was loaded with Gringos. I think experenced guys know how Costa Rica was ruined in the same way. Regulars already know that on Jan. First Colombia allows prices to rise. The taxi from the airport went from 90 K to 98 K. Once on the ground most everything also seemed to cost more. So far no rain in the 3 days I have been here. Well at least there is some good news. At the airport a guy tried to charge me 160 K and then at the dentist the guy quoted me 250 K to do some work. I showed him my total cash was 178 K and he told mr ok. Man they are hurting here and the urge to rip off is strong here.

When I arrived December 13 the wait was only 20 minutes at 2:30 pm. There are always guys at the airport trying to gouge gringos. I had to wait 20 minutes for my rental car to be brought from an offsite lot and must have been asked 50 times if I needed a taxi.

It's in the dry season now. You should have mostly good weather for the next month or so.

Rate increases happen every January 1st. Taxis, buses and the Metro all raise their rates, this includes the metered yellow taxis.

No reservations. Any taxi driver should know it. It's on Autopista Sur just south of Mayorista. The taxi will pull up to the gate, where you'll place your order, just like a drive through. A few years ago they had a security guard checking girl's cedulas as well. Every room has a jacuzzi. The next level up has a sauna as well. I always ask for "una habitacion solo con jacuzzi", a room just with a jacuzzi. They'll tell you the number of your room. Gate opens taxi drives to your room, a lighted sign with the number will be flashing. When you get there the door will open. Just inside is a button to close the door.

Go up the stairs (unless you're driving, you'll have a 3rd floor room. Second floor rooms each have their own garage. At the top of the stairs you'll see:

Starting to your left, a mini fridge, with a cabinet above, a couch, a stripper pole, a sound system, a love chair (vaguely shaped like a high heel shoe), the bed, the jacuzzi, a bathroom sink, toilet and shower.

You need to call the desk to get the water for the jacuzzi turned on. You'll need to adjust the temperature (just warm, most of the girls don't have hot water) and turn off the water when it's full. If you need air, call the desk to get the air conditioning turned on. Rooms are for 6 hours.

When you're ready to leave call the front desk to get your check. They will swing out the mini fridge and inventory it, lock it up, total your bill and sound a buzzer. Open the cabinet above the fridge and your bill will be there. Pay the bill and ask for a taxi. They will call you when the taxi arrives.

Until the bill is paid and your ride has arrived the entry door can't be opened. During your stay you will not come face to face with anyone. It's all very discreet.

I forgot to mention the menu. On the desk is a menu and catalog, you can order sex toys and steak, or whatever you desire. The mini fridge contains drinks, snacks, lube, condoms, bubble bath and a couple of cheap toys.

I agree. I'll make the decision to whether let her stay with me or not after spending time with her during our night out. I'm only considering it not because she's very pretty but because I vetted her social medias thoroughly and verified some of her parents and family members on it. I think if she was robbing or drugging people she wouldn't be using the same social media profiles going back years and have family on it.

Plus she's been messaging me like every day for the past month, I don't think anyone would bother with all that if they were just out to get you. They would just contact you a few days before. Either way I'm still going to have my guard up. If she decides she doesn't want to stay I'll be more than fine with that too. What she's asking for all night won't hurt my pockets either way. I would actually feel bad if I gave her less considering the amount of time she's going to spend with me just for dinner and a night out.

If she's as sweet as she is online I'm confident it will be more than worth it. You have to remember you're not the only option to these girls. On any given weekend they have guys lined up ready for her and she chose you to cater to you. While she's out having dinner and drinks with you she could have been making money pleasing others. Everyone should keep that in mind. That's the difference between a man just looking for a cheap fuck and a gentleman.

No they don't. At least not at the price you'll probably pay. If a girl has guys lining up to see her every night, she's got no reason to waste time messaging you. She's going to be too busy getting laid and paid. A busy girl on Facebook sees 2 or 3 guys per week. A super busy one might do 5 or 6.

I'm familiar with Mondongos, but that's not in Provenza.

It was a joke. Provenza is mostly upscale restaurants and bars, with various cuisines. It's about as far from the real Medellin as you can get. Don't get me wrong, I love Provenza, it's just not really a Colombian experience.

Mondongos is close to Provenza but closer to Parque Lleras. La Corral is nearer to Provenza and there are convenience stores in Provenza that sell warmed over arepas and other fast food items along with beer, cigarettes, and condoms. Sambombi and oci. Mde are high end Provenza restaurants that serve Colombian food.

I also had a long wait at Customs in November. It was a Saturday and the lines were long and there weren't that many custom agents. They need more agents working the lines. It is definitely very annoying to wait so long after the plane ride. 98 k is a lot for the taxi to the city but they do have to pay that toll for the tunnel. There are cheaper options if you want to do the shared taxi.

All in all, Colombia is still a cheap country relatively speaking. For the same ride to the airport here, Uber charges me $80 so the 98 k taxi fare doesn't bother me that much.

Wanting to spend the night without first meeting you is a red flag. It's common for a girl to agree on an all night price, fuck once, make an excuse to leave and demand the full amount. It's better to set up a shorter time. If you're really enjoying it and feel okay with it, you can always extend.

Colombia is a lot bigger than CR, I don't see the same happening. Prices are going up because inflation is out of control in Colombia.

Well, I have lived in and moved out of both CR and Colombia and I can say that without a doubt, the exact same thing is happening in Colombia (particularly Medellin, will not bother with the accent mark) now that happened in Costa Rica say 20 years ago. It will take a while more for the gringos to ruin it completely, but they will.
