Posts: 309Manrique in la 45 is on another level in terms of how locals party and chill on a weekend. Pre-pandemic, I'll just say it was buck wild and I love it. If there was a decent airbnb in that barrio, I'll def stay there for a few days. I wouldn't recommend heading out there in Manrique for a newbie or someone with no Spanish skills or go at it alone.

Posts: 309Yup, I concur. It's great fun, good food, lots of bars and some awesome clubs, relatively safe, and most importantly hot chicks all over dressed up sexy or classy or slutty or all in one if that's possible. And equally as important, barely any gringos! I stayed in Bello for about 2 months, but I ventured out to Poblado and Laureles from time to time. Kinda funny I know a few girls that live in Poblado and I'll have them come to me. It's like I'm the local and they're the gringas. The new chicas usually ask me why I'm staying in Bello or even buying a place out here, I always tell them I love Bello and I wouldn't pick anywhere else. After they get to know me, they realize I'm more paisa than a chino or a gringo haha. But always remember, it's very dangerous in Bello, so you guys best stay away (wink, wink).

I booked 5 nights at Haven on Hotels.com.
I just received this note from the hotel.
When was the last time anybody on this forum stayed there and can comfirm they are girl friendly? I sent them an email them asking if they permit outside guests to visit.
"Thank you for your booking on Haven a Design Hotel. We are very pleased that you have chosen us to spend your stay in Medellin; Below you will find some useful additional information in advance of your stay with us:

Your reservation is for a specific number of people. If you are waiting for additional companions, please check in advance if it is possible to accommodate them.

Posts: 309I appreciate the encouragement. Hopefully we can meet up again, as once I get this property I'll be spending as much time as possible in Medellin without becoming a tax resident. I thought having 2 passports would be a loophole, but I consulted a lawyer and he said that it's not always the case. I have to do more research on that. I'm 40 right now and my Asian genes make me look early 30's, so I ain't waiting till I hit 60 to retire. I'm looking at 45 as my prime retirement age and that's my goal. As for furniture, I'm definitely going with quality because I know lots of the Airbnbs I've stayed in all over Medellin has some of nicest looking, but cheapest quality materials I've seen. A BM suggested Itagui, but that's too damn far haha. I'll still look into it though.

Posts: 2579Un poco de ayuda por favor
Does anyone know of excellent online espanol lessons, there are some excellent schools in Chicago, but I don't have the time for in persona.
I want to find a 5 star teacher preferably a man (or fat ugly old chica), I don't need a hot chica just to distract me.
My level now is 0, I know about 10 words.

Posts: 309You can PM me and I can give you the law firm I used. They're bilingual and experienced in dealing with foreign investment in Colombia. And their rates are reasonable as well.

The only thing that concerns me is the statement on their Hotels.com listing.
"Only registered guests are allowed in the guestrooms. " Most mongering friendly hotels would not post this on their listing.

Posts: 14Short time Hotels in Centro
I'll be in Medellin in a few weeks. Plan on going to Centro. Are there any good ST hotels that have porno and hot showers?

I haven't yet but it wouldn't take her much effort to get the COP out of my hands.

Nice Trip Report BlackCrystal.
There is a 4th route that I myself always partake in and that's the Hotel M. On a trip I'll stay there for 3 nights and have the girls come to me. There is a steady flow of chicas to this hotel and they hang out around the pool and at night they have a bar in the basement that lots of chicas are present. It's nice because you can see them in person, hang out and talk with them and see if there is any chemistry. If there is your room is a minute away. I'll hang there for 3 days, grab a bunch of phone numbers and then afterwards check into a AirBnB for a few weeks or a month. Everyone staying there is a Monger and some never leave the Hotel. Knowing Spanish really helps a lot in communicating with the girls as most do not speak much English.

Posts: 2091Some weird posting error below.
I meant to say my Schwab and WellsFargo ATM cards are no longer working at Bancolombia ATMs. Bancolombia changed its banking intermediary and not compatible.
Davidienda on Ave Pobaldo in front of Parque Pobaldo gives 2 million. Citibank ATMs we're the same but they closed some of them.
