Well, now we have more confirmation why prices are getting out of hand. And we can blame my fellow Americans for that. Europeans don't get out of hand with their money. And it shows in practice / Let's look across the Caribbean for an interesting scenario.

Things were cheap in Boca Chica when I was there last year, while people on the Sosua and Santo Domingo forums were complaining about prices getting out of hand in Sosua. Why is that? Well, Boca Chica is dominated by European tourists, who are cheapskates in comparison to Americans. Contrary to what the media would like you to believe, Americans can be very well liked abroad because they tip and Europeans don't (I won't even bring up Chinese tourists into the conversation). Part of it is our generosity and our tendency to tip. But, Europeans don't believe in tipping and they don't worry about looking cheap even if they are well off. Who would they be trying to impress? Someone they would never see again? Americans sometimes don't seem to get that.

Same situation seems to apply on Bali. As I recently posted on that forum, Kuta is a shithole populated by hustlers preying on the dominate Australian tourist element, who also seem to have a problem with loose wallets. Some tossers on these forums, typically Americans, like to take jabs at the Australians, without realizing there isn't that much difference between us and them (except Americans are fatter). But, I digress. After trying to get laid in Kuta I only came across ripoffs like 1. 5 Mil Rupiahs for a handjob in a vacant office space. After two nights of that bullshit, I made it over to Sanur, a quieter beach resort town known to favored by Europeans. Now, the X-houses of Sanur cater to the locals but some of the girls will service the "bule" tourists. I do know there is a different level of pricing exists for the locals and the bule, and you have to haggle to get a fair price. But, in the end I got a pretty, slim, young Asian girl give me excellent service (better than anything I got in Medellin) for 300 k. Europeans who spend their holiday there in Sanur, aren't throwing money around recklessly and as a result not one girl asked for a tip. Though I did give a very modest tip to two of them for service above and beyond, better than any I had in Thailand or Colombia, and certainly better than the DR. I also wanted to see them again. They were both surprised and delighted at the gratuity, you'd think it was their birthday.

What a difference 5 miles can make, but then again the you have a different set of "bule" in Sanur and Kuta. And as a result the markup for the foreigner and the service level is completely different. Is Medellin at that point, now? How long til the scammers and the real criminals take total advantage of this, and ruin it for everyone? Americans need to tighten up their wallets!

I've been through Vera Cruz and Raudal over 50 times in the last year and never see any tourists (and I don't blame them, it is a risky area for newbies) and have always been quoted 30 k by the VeraCruz and 50+- by the Raudal chicks.

Good advice to always carry a photocopy of your Passport and a copy of the entry stamp. I got stopped once at a checkpoint at 2 in the morning on Calle 10 in front of EXITO. When asked where was my original Passport, the answer I gave them was that it was locked up in my security box where I was staying and if they wanted to go with me to see the original they were welcome to come with me and than they just let me go.

Agreed. I keep my passport in the safe at the hotel or apartment (since it is the one thing I don't want to lose) along with a credit card and enough cash to get to the airport. I have a photocopy of my passport on me as well as pictures of my passport on my phone.

This whole mongering business in MDE is out of control. Years ago you could go to many places, and find good value. Now social media is jacking up prices. I see guys hooking up, and paying 200 K to 300 K for girls you could of got in Mayorista or the Centro strip clubs for a decent price. A lot of these girls are not stupid. They sit by their PC and pick, and choose who they want to go with. Then they want taxi money when in the past they would go to their work area using the Metro.

My first casa of Medellin. Went at around 2 pm and just casually went in. A lot of chicas but mainly 5's-7's. Picked up another skinny petite (Allyson 22 yrs) that seemed quite doable. Payed the fee of 78 K COP for the hour and off to the room. Had a pleasant time. But. No fan and no air conditioner in rooms. It was very hot in there. Had a shower so that was good for me. Once we finished our session, I left her a 30 K COP tip. This casa is more of a, I would go if there is nothing else casa. This was my first casa so I'm pretty sure they saw the money sign above my head. I would like to dabble more in the Medellin casas as I want to try a little bit of everything. LOL.

The standard one tablet adult dose of Quaalude was 300 MG and a dose of 8000 MG is lethal and a dose as little as 2000 MG could induce a coma if taken with an alcoholic beverage, the drug was discontinued in the United States in 1985, mainly due to its psychological addictiveness and recreational use.

I was there in the 70's and Quaaludes (synthetic barbiturate) were the best high of the times. Before Quaaludes barbiturates were used but were too powerful and really drugged people out. The price at Club Sexy Amigas is 48 k for 30 minutes and 78 k for 60 minutes. I've sat in there drinking beer and heard the same prices quoted to gringos and locals. Nobody overcharged him.

Yes, 30 k is a big tip, but where was your outrage for all the guys paying an extra 50 k for BBBJ? If a casa girl gives me a good session, I've got no problem giving her an extra 20 k and getting her number. The tip has no effect whatsoever on any other gringo because it happens after the session. She might expect a tip when it's over, but it's too late for her to do anything about it.

I admit I only have been to Medellin once, but in my limited experience I had already encountered casa girls thinking they were entitled to a tip because I was a gringo. One extended her palm and gave me the sad eyed look after very ineffectual service. Another who did at least give me more enthusiastic service got upset because the tip I gave her didn't meet her expectations. She got on a real Dominican level with me, and it ruined the otherwise good experience. Now, I am pretty certain they wouldn't pull that shit with a local guy and do remember, these places are there to service the local guys. So, why would they start to grovel for a tip from a gringo?

I'm not trying to beat you up on this, but you won't get any respect on this forum by telling how your threw money around in Medellin. Nor will you get any respect from the girls for being too generous. Instead, it only makes them more contemptuous towards all of us.

Went in around 1130 am. A lot of ladies to choose from, from 5's all the way to 10's. Picked a petite with gorgeous body (Maria Jose 23 yrs). Payed the house fee of 150 K COP for the hour and it was totally worth it. Skipped the lousy massage and off we went to have some fun. We did a little bit of everything and truly had a good time. Finished with her digits in case I want to meet up again. Overall pretty good experience for a reasonable price. Would go again.
