Okay, I've just returned to my hotel. I went to Conejita first. It's a bar with a strip pole in the middle. The problem is that some / many of Botero / Veracruz gringos have obnoxious, silly attitudes. They think that they would become king when they come to a developing country. Some of these guys argue with locals, hotel / restaurant employees, and drunk with hoes on the middle of promenade. Some of them argued with police and they were arrested. Locals hate them.

What your describing is as a result of the Pandemic when Colombia was one of a very few Countries literally wide open to mongering hence droves and droves of mongers, especially Asian mongers started coming here. And prior to the onset of the Pandemic, Colombia was becoming more and more popular each year, yet I would say the gringo density today is at least ten times if not more than pre-pandemic.

I like to go places where there is little to no Gringos. I like the local feel that is untainted. I agree about El Centro and the influx of Simps. A lot hang out in the plaza near the museum and centro comercial. Older guys talking loud with the young chicas drinking and listening to Reggaeton. They really think that they got it going on. LOL. Little do they know that's not "living".

If a chica speaks understandable English, quotes in dollars, hangs out in Poblado regularly she is probably being tainted. Chicas migrate between El Centro and Poblado. A better experience for me is to avoid most Gringo hangouts and areas. I prefer parts of town that cater mostly to locals. The cultural experience is much better, personalities are more genuine and believe it or not the food is more authentic. Commercialized food is not always the answer. Colombian middle class and up are my target areas. The price for everything is lower and the chicas aren't on that Western / USA / Europe bullshyt.

Traveling to mid sized cities is a good idea for avoiding most Gringos. There are all kinds of nice cities in Colombia that have minimal Gringo exposure.

To me it seems very unlikely that you will get robbed by a girl who you bring back to your place if you have already agreed on a price. For example, a Parque Lleras girl who you have agreed on a price with. The girl knows she's getting paid so she has a lot less incentive to have to steal from you.

Not sure if my reasoning is flawed here and interested to see what the experienced Medellin guys think.

I arrived in Medellin yesterday and decided to walk around el Centro at about 4 pm. It had just stopped raining, so maybe there were less people around.

But I felt safe walking around Plaza Botero, because amongst the vagabondas (homeless), there were lots of regular people taking photos around the statues etc. I walked around the streets where the SW's hang out and to be honest, I was seriously disappointed at the quality of the girls. I have pretty low standards, so I wasn't looking for 7's or 8's. Just a normal girl who is a 5 or 6 would be sufficient. Maybe the rain had scared some of them away.

Then I walked to Parque Berrio station to see if there were any girls hanging around the stairways, and there were only 2 - one of which looked very suspect.

So, I tried to look for the coffee / candy girls, and again I was very disappointed. The ones they show on YouTube vids are pretty hot! But the few I saw were much older, and definitely not bangable..

Go on a better day when it hasn't been raining so much and branch out further within the surrounding areas. Botero Plaza and Berrio Station aren't the only places in El Centro. The quality of the girls working Centro, primarily Vennies has been way down for a few months as a lot of the prettier ones that used to work there have not come back, yet there are new faces everyday.

What you observed is what I describe as "fuglies", meaning fat and pudgy Chicas, and there are lots of them which you noticed.

Just taking a short time pass thru Centro doesn't really give a good snapshot of things as you recognize such as rain.

Also the slowest days in Centro are Sunday's, followed by Monday when things ramp back up. Best days would be Thursday afternoon thru Saturday.

Have you tried to station yourself near ground zero (cra 52 and CL 52). It is the intersection to your left when you face the museum. You will find many here in addition to the bar street.

I've never had issues finding girls in Cento but you have to hunt a little bit. I usually take 2 or 3 passes around the church. I've always been able to find something worth 30-50 mil.
