Nothing direct, best bet as far as least travel time is Avianca LAX direct to Bogota, and connect to MDE, I believ it is only 3 evenings per week (call Avianca.

COPA usually has lower priced flights but you have a long layover in Panama.

On my 5 trips thus far from USA to MDE. I've never experienced this level of treatment. I've flown AA, Avianca, and Spirit. I've had my checked bag hand searched, walked through three metal detectors, then been patted down at the door to the airplane, but never x-rayed.

I've also received the full treatment in MIA and also FLL, complete with extra careful hand search, pat down, and dog sniffing. Had my bag x-rayed also. I've never brought anything illegal back with me, but it would most likely be possible, suitcased.

Hey Buddy,

As of now there is no direct flight from LAX to MDE. The flight now is from LAX to PTY (Panama) then to MDE (50 Minute Flight). This is the best flight since it leaves at 2:00 am and arrives (with the 2 hours difference) at 12:30 in the afternoon in MDE. Great prices on those flights as well.

I will be in Medellin for 3 days on a business trip. Are the Hotels in Poblado area Girl friendly? Can someone reccomend me a hotel which you can bring girls back without any problems?

That was my same experience from Medellin to US. Everyone is x-rayed and hand searched twice.

I travel on average every 3 weeks from Lax to Medellin. I have found the security to be a little more stricter as of lately. About 2 months ago the Copa / Aerorepublica Desk Agent told me that they caught 3 people (2 Colombians & 1 Foreigner) trying to smuggle either in there luggage or stomach!

Bogota I try to avoid like the PLAGUE! They are super super careful. The last check point I went through was at the actual gate itself! A woman dressed in civilian clothes questioned me after the Xray Machine and pulled out her Badge. Myself and 3 other people were taken to a Police Substation (about 50 yards away) and asked to sign a document and fingerprint to authorize a Digital Xray of our Diaphragm! We were all ok and the very last people to board the flight.

Oh well, I didn't have a problem with it But I learned its just alot easier to fly to Medellin where it is a little more relaxed.

Leaving from Bogota, my luggage is always searched before checking in (and I mean opening ALL luggage) and before entering the boarding area, my handluggage gets searched again. So please tell, how you avoid those searches.

Well we took a little trip to Medellin from August 1 thru August 10th. This was the 5th trip and was mostly to visit friends and experience the Flowers Festival.

My home base was at my friends' apartment, near El Ploblado. With another base near Ave. 33, thus most of my reporting will be from Ave. 33.

The three main places I experienced were as published below with business cards. The best place in my opinion was Samsara, (Av.33#65-9 tel 265 7123 owner's name is Gordo) which is a family owned operation of 20 years, that is basically a massage house open from 10am-10pm that offers whatever you'd like. You can order a bottle of rum and watch sports on the tv with the girls, then decide which one or more you'd like. The going rate is 60, 000 COP for an hour. Although I didn't experience any clock watching. There were 6-10 girls there each time I visited. Very comfortable place, I felt like I could let my guard down a little in this place. Not common. Seemed like I was at one of my buddies house and there were a bunch of girls running around.

Anyways, the first night at Samsara I had a session with a BBBJ x's 2. I didn't want sex, as the BBBJ was so good. Total GFE with Paula, she has 36 D's, natural. Awesome.

I was propositioned for white after about 20 minutes being there. Turned out to be the owner of the place, Maicor. He turned out to be a great host. Anything goes in this place, the going rate seemed to be 80, 000. I never experienced this, I bought bottles of Aguardiente for 50, 000, which include two 'shows'. You can buy the bottle without the 'shows' for 30, 000. But what the hell, for $10.00USD you get 2 crazy shows! Try that in Miami!

So when you purchase a bottle of rum or aguardiente for 50, 000COP, = $25 USD. You get, the bottle, a room for the private consumption of your bottle, 2 girls, and 2 shows and whatever else you wish to purchase. I think that is great! So the pics of most of the chics below, are from these purchases. Anything goes in this club. Did I say 'anything'?

I also went to 'hostal Malevaje' which is located at Av. 33 No. 76-85 2 piso. This is a converted restaurant that is now a house that we enjoy. There were three chica's there the night I visited. Two were do-able, one was old (35-40), which might not be old to some of the readers to this forum. I bought a bottle of aguardiente for us to share, was about 45, 000 for a large bottle, seemed like a good deal. After about half the bottle was gone, as I was the only customer, the girls all changed clothes into stripper outfits and all three did lapdances to the music. Simultaneously. Was very nice. So I took the two younger ones, for an agreed upon price of 160, 000. We had a great session, including swapping from one cutchie to the next without swapping condoms. Then included a nice massage in the warm bath.(warm water is a luxury in Medellin). I thought it was great, then the Mamasan tried to charge me 200, 000 after we had agreed on 160, 000. I think she thought I was either drunk or, didn't care about an extra $20.00USD. Well, I let her know that I wasn't the one who was going to be takin avantage of, and that I knew she was trying to rip me off. (there are bars on the front door, so I'm not sure what I would have done to escape if I would have needed to.) So I pulled out 160, 000 and told her, that is what we agreed on, that is what she gets. Then soon left.

Also went to Apothesis club in San Juan. Not sure the address of this place, as I did not ask for a business card. I've been to this place many times also. Many many girls working at this place. About 80, 000 seemed like the price. About 5, 000 for a beer. Seemed like a semi-nice place, didn't seem like you would have to worry too much. There is a shower on stage that the girls take a shower in late night. I stayed till closing at this place twice, saw the show. One of a kind! The guy that watches your car outside can get whatever you need. There is a smoke bar next door to this place, I didn't see anyone smoking, but it seems like it is set up like the coffee bars in amsterdamn!

San Diego. This place has gone super low class lately. I used to have a great time just going to San Diego Grill Show. Now it seems like greed has taken over since so many gringo's know about it. They don't charge for admission, but it is 10, 000 COP per can beer. Which is about 5 bucks, this isn't much in a USA club, but in Medellin, this is rediculous! The girls seemed to me to be cold and non-talkative. The pussy is the same as the girls in the cheaper places, in my opinion. They were asking 150, 000 for 30 minutes. And my previous experience was the person watching the door would knock at about 20 minutes. Nice if you want a seemingly safe, one stop shop for pleasure. But there are plenty of places that you can get it cheaper.

I found out this time in Medellin that after 9 pm, any place with a red-light on, or with a girl standing outside, is what you are looking for.

Making a virgin trip to Medellin this Wednesday. Will be staying at the Laurales penthouse for the first two night to get on my feet and then bouncing to other places possibly. I've contacted women on Colombian cupid and right now I'm chatting with four.

Nice enough hotel; modern, clean and excellent service. I had to make reservations at the last minute, and thus passed on apartment scene since it requires a little effort to arrange. I am paying about $120 night for a single room, not including tax.

They are girl friendly, and in the end, I was not charged for any of the girls (but they were all required to register). My first girl, who turned out to be a little bit crazy (I ended up asking her to leave 3 hours early because she kept telling me that she needed to leave at 5 am to feed her mother; I think the cocaine was talking, as I was neither interested in the story nor opposed to her leaving at that time) had a fake ID and the guy at the front desk was unperturbed. I haven't been to many casas, about 10 I think. And I've never been to a casa near Av. de Greiff where I think the lower end casas are. Amterdan was the cheapest with indeed 30K for 30 min. But no shower in there. While at the Mayorista I paid 20K to 25K for 40 minutes, plus the 12K for the room plus shower. I never had to pay an additional 15K upsell(?).

'Bienvenidos a la zona segura', decía paradójicamente una valla a unos pocos metros de donde fue asesinado esta semana Argemiro Salazar, en el centro de Medellín.

Según la Policía, el asesinato lo ejecutaron tres hombres que se movilizaban en un automóvil blanco y portaban pistolas automáticas con silenciador.

Los sicarios esperaron a que Salazar, quien iba solo, estacionara junto a su Hotel Continental, el cual visitaba todas las noches, a sólo dos cuadras del Parque de Berrío, en el centro de Medellín.

El hombre de 74 años y reconocido por ser dueño de hoteles, billares, casinos y varios centros nocturnos de la ciudad recibió tres disparos por la ventanilla de su camioneta blindada que le dejaron inconsciente.

El 11 de julio del 2007 murieron Gabriel Mejía y Hugo Mario Hoyos, altos funcionarios de Gana en un atentado con granada que dejó nueve heridos.

En junio del mismo año fue asesinado Fabio Correa, encargado de reclamos de la Asociación Sindical de Colocadores de Apuestas Permanentes y Loteros de Antioquia (Ascaplán).

En agosto del 2005 fue baleado en Medellín el presidente de esa agremiación, Factor
Antonio Durango, quien había denunciado la infiltración de grupos armados en el y el despido masivo de colocadores de apuestas al detal.

Las autoridades anunciaron una recompensa de hasta 50 millones de pesos para lograr la captura de los responsables de la muerte de Salazar.
