Started out by going to Angles de Fuegos, decent slection, maybe 10 girls working but I didn't feel it. I had one beer and adios.

it took a week to finally get something going. good for you. however, you could have stayed at the mansion and been running the moment you hit the ground.

sour grapes because they run a hotel and not an open bordello is not merited.

asking the mansion for help when you are a guest is 100% free. they have never charged a fee for any service regarding females. they only ask that you be a guest. sounds like a fair business deal to me.

as an example, if you fly with a certain air carrier you can't expect some other air carrier to give you their airmiles. get the picture?

you are not the first person to be a non guest yet ask for help or try to hang out at the mansion. i was there one time at the front desk when a fella showed up asking if he could just hang for a while. the staff politely advised him that aside from invited females, only guests (2 night minimum) were allowed on the premises. so it happens that he's about to leave when 4 hot looking paisas show up to hang at the mansion and next thing you know the fella is booking 2 nights at the mansion. i left but saw him later that night having a great time.

i saw the same fellow the next day and he had gotten several of the girls numbers already and would get more that day then leave the mansion since he had an apartment. not one time did he say that the mansion was a rip-off.

it's strange that so many guys that do not stay at the mansion seem to be the ones that have a problem with the mansion. i don't think many gringos want to waste time guessing their way through a vacation like you play ground.

whether it's help recommending the best casa girls or help inviting hot mansion girls, greg, robert, boyd and the staff are your best bet to start with.

i completely understand the point that you and ricker are making. the mansion is a business and their only concern should be servicing paying customers. that being said, i'm going to medellin for the the first time on a two week vacation, and i'd like to spend 7-10 days at the mansion and then a few more at a more affordable apartment. i'd prefer not to book the apartment until i've spent a good week in medellin and gotten a lay of the land. do you think the staff would at the mansion (s) would be willing to recommend a good place to stay for the final portion of my trip? or is that asking too much of them?

My spanish is almost non-existent. I was pretty decent in spanish about 5 years ago. I know some basic verbs but If I do go on this trip, I am going to grab rosetta stone to try and brush up.

I have found a round trip ticket departing on March 1st and returning on March 9th for $380 (from Washington DC). I am highly considering this because I will have an 8 night stay in MDE, which is longer than what I expected. My budget is currently at $1500 max (including airfare and stay). I have been told that hotels in Mayorista can be $25 / night which would be very ideal for me so I can be somewhat picky on the girls. My main worry right now is my lack of spanish, and a place to stay after CB2. Thoughts?

I think I may actually follow this plan. I need to do more research on the hostels and places to stay after CB2.

My advice:

2. The station which is near to "las casas" is parque de berrio, not poblado.

3. Don't wear expensive clothing or jewelry. Please, do not wear shorts (all tourists wear shorts)

4. Don't walk alone at night. Take a cab or the metro.

5. There are lots of cheap restaurants such as: Kokoriko (fried chicken) , Frisby, Crepes & Waffles, presto. Exito and Carrefour are popular supermarkets.

6. Usually young people speak english, paisas are very friendly and willing to help others.

11. Staying the first days in Casa Blanca is a good idea they can help you a lot.

7. I would recomend you hotels located in sector Estadio. Laureles rather the ones in the Mayorista.

8. I you hit the mayorista, you should always use condoms. (this apply to las casas, too)

9. Poblado is kind of the safest area, (Parque Lleras if the best option to have some drinks) , and Envigado is also nice.

This girls are poor, they need help and I`m not going to exploit them by taking advantage of them. I go by their economic status. For me, MDE, Rio, BKK are for fantasy play (sport-fucking). The US is for dating.

That's fine and true for you, and like you say, guys that are just passing through for a week or so, but believe it or not, there are guys that return frequently or live or semi-live in Medellin or whatever fantasy destination that do like dating non-pros, having a girlfriend, and maybe dabble in the PFP as well.

I agree that quick visits are much more geared for the PFP, but some guys just aren't into dating in the US .. and I'm one of those guys :)

Anyway to answer most of the questions that new mongers have about MDE I will give my sage advice.

1. If you have little or no Spanish and have a decent amount of money to spend then don't even hestitate just book CB1 or CB2.

2. Use the ATM machines.

3. Use condoms.

4. Take taxis, don't walk in high risk areas at night.

5. Don't get drunk and flash money or wear gold chains or fancy watches.

6. Be nice to the girls.

7. This is probably the most important thing. Stay away from Mayorista. It has only fat and ugly women. I must have had countless girls there and have never had a good experence with any of them. They always over charge me and beg for tips and money to buy them smokes and other unnamed substances. It is very, very dangerous in this area. I have stayed there many nights in the past 3 years and I can't tell you all the times I have been mugged and ripped off. Most of the time I bring very little money when I go out as I know at the end of the night someone will have taken it from me.

I felt I had to write this as I have read many guys commenting on Mayorista who most likely have never set foot in that area. So take it from a long suffering Vet of this foul area, Please stay away.

I think you finally have some wisdom, nice to see some one treat the girls as people rather than sex wholes for once, they say people pretty much treat you as you treat them, so if you give the girl a few bucks extra even if she doesn't ask for it. First of all, how is your Spanish? It is important to be able to talk to chicas, ask what you want. Be able to bargain, ask for extras etc.

If you go to Casas basic price starts from about $15 for 30min in regular casas. If you need extra services you discuss it with the chica. From here you can estimate how much you are going to spend. You may also want to add taxi, driving around may add up.

Even though most casas girls are not what you want, but there are could be 1-2 chica out of 10 who will fit your taste. That has been the best for me to find chicas. Much better than some other, especially expensive options in MDE.

Also 5 days is very short time. You may want to start talking to chicas in advance, for example.

There are lots of pros, nonpros, semi-pros. Some have their phone numbers right there. I think its a good idea to come prepared. And most important do not count on one single chica, they are not reliable. You got to have contact with as many as possible.

Renting an inexpensive apartment can be good to save money and privacy, but in CB (although it is more expensive) it is easy to find a company to do stuff.
