Quick question, I would normally read through everything but am in kind of a rush today.

I received the first two shots of the vaccine back before my trip in February. Well I never got the follow up booster shot.

Do I have to have the booster to be considered fully vaccinated in Colombia. If so I plan on getting it tomorrow. If not I wasn't going to worry about it.

One thing I've always found that works especially in a foreign country where you don't speak the language is to act like you're dumb / mute, and mutter some mumbo jumbo. This only helps if you look like a local.

Responding in English was a bad idea and gave you away as a mark. If he had a weapon, he would have used it a lot earlier as it seems he may have been a desperate crack user.

I am familiar with the area, and probably the street you were on. In that area calling an Uber would not work, nor is a taxi likely to be close. Plus you have seconds to act, not time to pull out a phone even. That is if you could not get inside a shop that might be safer at least. Locals are as likely to just watch as to help you, but if you were very loud and created a scene it might help scare the guy off. Or he might just pull a gun and shoot you or a knife and stab. That also is not uncommon in Medellin during robberies, so I guess you were lucky that it was a robber that was trying to con you as he robbed you, or in order to rob you.

The area you mentioned, especially down LaGrief, is lined with junkies at times sitting on the sidewalks shooting up.
