And I will one-up on this about the prepagos and photos as I see many of photos where the chica is wearing an article of clothing or bag that I purchased and which I gave her as a gift a few years back before she got heavy into the scene.

I just noticed my FB friend suggestions went to hell today after the outage. Before, FB magic made my friend suggestions mostly girls living in Medellin, with a good number showing signs of being a prepago. Yesterday afternoon it became a mix of dudes and other random. I just went back to my sent friend requests that were not accepted and resent about 10 of them. Then FB started showing Medellin girls again. Fuck you FB for knowing me so well.

Condoms.

I posted before that there is a wide variety in the quality of condoms, especially and including the degree of sensation felt while wearing one. I believe I recommended Trojan Gold, and I normally bring a supply from the states. But they are very expensive and might be the most expensive condom on the market I'm not sure. * I ran out of those a long time ago on this trip.

I've tried condoms here that were as bad as the proverbial raincoat, basically you could feel nothing.

Then I stumbled across these two brands and they are both good. The first one, Duo Ultrasensible, was recommended to me by a pharmacist in the drugstore on the corner closest to the Vera Cruz Church near Ground Zero.

The second brand, Tulip, surprisingly are the ones they hand out free at the Hotel Real Botero, not coincidentally the closest hotel to the same pharmacy and to the front door of the Vera Cruz church. I feel certain both brands are readily available. And I'm not saying these are the only good ones but these are the two I have found that do a good job. And no breakage to report so far.

Now here is the "Pearl" I've never heard anyone repeat, told to me by a doctor a long time ago. Put a dab of lube on the inside tip of the condom before you put it on. That greatly improves heat conduction and sensation to disagree there have been times when I could not even tell I had a condom on, no kidding.

So, I'm sorry to ask, but I just can't find any info searching, and I'm getting a bad vibe.

I'm due to visit for the first time in November. I'm an obvious gringo, travelling solo, with very little Spanish (but I'm still learning daily). I'm really having second thoughts about my trip. I normally travel to Thailand where there are lots of expats to meet up with. But I'm really struggling to get together a plan from the information I can gather. Whenever someone mentions a casa or gives a recommendation (like Motel Ibiza) I'm noting it, but still I have no idea where I'm looking to visit when I arrive.

To add to that, I've been adding FB ladies and some of them are posting memes making fun of gringos. So obviously these are bad calls on my part.

I have 4 weeks to go, but still feeling as lost as I was 4 weeks ago when I booked my flights.

Are gringos really put down so much? I can't hide the fact that I'm a gringo!

Are there gringo-friendly places / casas? I don't plan to visit El Centro, and probably not Poblado also, given what I've read. So I'm running out of ideas for places where I'm not going to be taken for a sucker.

Am I over-thinking things?

Well maybe in the year 2050. Def disagree with this thought. Tourists are the exception, not the norm in MDE. Most places have to sell their servcies and products to the local market, so these prices will cut it in the general market.

On facebook, I friend requested a few ladies on the 'happy ending Medellin' group (it's actually listed as a person if you search). They haven't accepted my request yet. But my 'recommended' friend list has lit up. A great starting point for options to cultivate a good friends list.

Switching gears, I've read comments about greatly increased police presence and a surge of hiring female officers corresponding to the installation of the fence around Plaza Botero.

Yes, I have seen more female officers most of which are not armed who have been busting peoples chops. A few weeks ago I witnessed a pair of female officers with an attitude searching some young Venezuelan guys, loser boyfriends. And they had some dolls in their backpacks and people were howling in laughter when the cops pulled them out of their packs. These women cops were also telling girls not to stand in front of the statues, and had a bad ass attitude about them, albeit no guns. The fencing I think is to help with security more than anything else as at one of the entrances by the Church they always seem to have a cop stationed there. The entrances seem more like choke points, so a thief theoretically would have to exit thru them albeit could hop the fences or go thru the existing breaches.

I noticed that someone posted a few days back about the FB page "Happy Ending Medellin" having prepagos and mongers in the friends list of the page. I looked through there briefly and saw a few active chicas and a few active mongers. The catch is to find one who does not have a private friends list. My advice is to click on any gringo name and see if you can see their friends list. And if the name looks made up the there is a 99% chance they are a monger. Though chances are pretty good in a page called happy endings anyway.

I also saw some chica pages that I know to be dead ends. The chicas have either mover on or they started antother profiles so you want to pay attention to the last time they updated their profile photo and their background photo. A year is acceptable because if it is her working profile and not her main profile that can happen - 2 years means its probably and dead end.

One sure sign that a chica is prepago is if she has gringos in her friends list. One poster mentioned that they will have revealing photos. My favorite type of revealing photo. Becuase in mostcases it is unmistakably a indicator is the photo of the chica sitting / laying on her bed in her underwear. As I mentioned before in other posts another thing to look for is the devil's horns in any shape or form including the devil emoji. A photo of a stack of money is a good sign she is a prepago. Below I show a meme I have seen it is a chica in a "new" fresh sweat suit holding her cash. This is a prepago meme showing what her work has gotten her. I have also seen the chica put a filter on the photo to give it a "red light" look. I am attaching examples. Other things that migh be on the pager are the sexy nun. Or the on I call the masked bank robber look as shown below.

I've been thinking about coming to Medellin for a week and work from the hotel.

As far as I am aware there are no international chain nor fancy hotels en el centro. The best there is seems to be hotel nutibara. It looks very grand from the outside, like a listed building, but dated on the inside. Nonetheless, the staff are good and it in perfect location. Internet is very wesk on lower floors, and best on lvl 8.

Easy to bring girls back from the street because its right next to the action. Its FOC during daytime, but they say there is a fee for a guest staying over, but I don't know how much it is because they always forget to bill me.

There are also many casas within easy walk of 20 minutes.

Traffic is a nightmare in mde so it think it is worth it to stay in centro.

Any day I am in Centro (which is more often than not) I see these guys. More than anything else, what stands out about them for me is they seem to be more into each other than anything else. I very rarely see any of them alone. Even when they are headed off with a girl I will often seem them do it in pairs. A couple of the younger guys among them appear to enjoy using drugs. I sometimes notice them going it alone. I am not judging, I am sharing my observations. You can see for yourself on any of the growing number of youtube videos.

The official story is police were redeployed from other areas. Also, and this may be of particular interest to some of you, the fence entrances were situated for maximum visibility by surveillance cameras that were already in place. The fence was promptly breached within days of its installation. Street urchins can cross the fence through various openings they made to avoid police control points. I quite like the placement of the fence beneath the metro tracks between the Nutibara Hotel and the Parque Berrio station because it keeps the pushcart vendors off to the side near the roadway. It was annoying when they used to clog the walkway and cyclists would dart around them through the crowd.

Over the past six months I have noticed a tremendous amount of gringos, more so than I have ever seen before in Centro. And like you, I suspect very few are posters here with the exception of a few, like Knowledge, who post about their observations on this board.

What I do know though about all of the non-posting gringos is you have two groups, the newbie Colombian mongers getting hosed and paying high prices, and others who have spent a lot of time there. There are some non-posters who spend months at a time there who I have met, that know way more than I do about what goes on, so I really don't consider myself an exception in the scheme of things. I actually consider myself a part timer in Centro as I don't stay in Centro, but am there most days for a few hours at a time. Sometimes it's just part of my daily routine.

And as far as some of the others I've mentioned who are non-posters, some have gone with dozens and dozens of the girls working there, a lot of them speak Spanish, and can tell you which ones are the performers and which one's aren't, how much they cost, and all kinds of other information..

I'm doing exactly what you describe here. I started polling FB about 1 week ago, and I have friended with 30 sexy (semi) pro.

The process is slow, but works. I only found profiles from Medellin, none from Cartagena or Cali, and I wish them too.

As for other, I do not know whether FB is enough, or I should spend for Seeking or ColombianCupid. If there are many additional profiles, I would be happy to spend. Any expert feedback?
