I found getting a cab out of Pl Botero area difficult even in the afternoon. I had to walk about 1 mile down South before a cab stopped for me. He drove about half a mile, his cab just quit. I had to walk again and find another cab. So forget about getting a cab in that area after dark.

The easiest way to get a cab in the area you described is to go to the street adjacent to the Museum, its the main road from the Nutibarra, and look for guys getting taxis for others.

Some very poor Colombians / Venezuelans grateful to get some coins for hailing a cab for you.

And some of them will literally jump in front of an empty cab to hail one, and they typically they a dirty rag they use to flag the taxis down.

If you stay in a building with a nice elevator, with a big mirror, you'll likely see a picture of your Facebook dates in that elevator within a few hours.

The designer clothes are often just locally produced fakes.

One easy way to get pictures, if the girl is taking selfies in your mirror is to point out your camera is better.

YMMV, but I've not noticed any correlation between service and number of selfies taken.

I went to parque Lleras in my last trip to medellin and there was a club that has "Lleras park" written in lights. What is the name of that place? Is that club gusto? The club you are taking about is on the west side of the park. Gustos is no the north side of the park above the Medellin Beer Factory.

The metro runs until 11 PM. That whole retail shopping area could do more business after dark, but stores all closed down, perhaps the Metro is not safe after sundown. I did not ride it at night so had no idea.

May I ask why? I've only spent one night at La Isla and it was pretty much a bust. (I went too early at night.) I always travel alone. So your feedback is helpful. My strong preference for a good night at a strip club is to find the right girl and drink the night away with her. I really don't want to bring up Tijuana again! But I have great times with that approach in Hong Kong. By way of comparison, is there a real reason this couldn't happen at La Isla? Are the chica economics different? This is mostly a matter of personal preference for me. Until about 20 years ago, I spent a lot of time in strip clubs, solo. Always had a great time, my table was where most of the strippers would hang out, if they weren't busy. This was in the US. I dated several of the strippers, had 3 or 4 who rented one of my spare bedrooms, went out as just friends with quite a few of them. Good times.

However, things have changed since then. Perhaps the worst change is I got older. In my late 30's and early 40's, I was more appealing to the 25-30 year old strippers. Strip clubs are different now. Back then, at least the places I hung out, even getting a handjob in a club was rare. Now (US clubs) if you're not paying for a BJ or more, you're wasting the girls time.

None of that really applies to Colombian clubs, it's just why I prefer to go with friends to strip clubs.

If my interest was to find a girl at a strip club, going solo, hang out and then do the deed with her, I'd probably pick Barra Executiva over La Isla, especially if I was going early. Overall, you'll spend less money and if you're patient there's a fair chance you'll find a better looking and better performing girl.

In my opinion, La Isla has a better average, as far as attractiveness goes. Barra Ejecutiva can get some who are pretty low rated. However, both clubs get about the same number of superior looking girls. In El Centro you're probably better able to get the hottest girl to your table. You'll face more competition at La Isla.

La Isla is by far the most comfortable strip club and the service is excellent. But as a lone guy there, you're competing with a lot of big groups who are throwing money.

Except, the original question was "Is it safe to walk around at night?" I would probably be okay with walking there before 8 pm, but after 8 pm, walking there isn't something I would recommend.
