1) Lose the gut=be the best you can be. NOBODY likes a fat slob! If you have a few extra LBS. Develop a funny and outgoing personality!

2) Dress nice, get a new shirt and not one with a huge design / pattern. If your best shirt has glitter, sparkles, looks like a tribal tattoo; you need a new shirt! Hahhaha! I don't think if you're 50 you should dress 35. What does 35 dress like? Let's shoot for classic, nice jeans (no rips or tears because if you do you'll look like the dude from Aerosmith = Trying too hard) , a new clean pair of sneakers for casual chilling and a set of nice brown shoes if you like to get a bit dressy / workish, a nice golf / polo shirt, a new cool tee shirt.

3) Lord I don't know how this is not obvious to EVERYBODY, personal grooming is key. I'd like to add breath, have gum, mints, breath spray on hand.

4) Be funny and nice! Do not be cheap!

5) Get a clue. Or be as cool as you can be. I've been up in Parque Gringo and have seen some WEAK game being spit and the look in the girls eyes of "what is this loser gringo saying to me?", for example, This dude in a bar saying to a Chica: "Do you know who you look like, Sofia Lauren!" Now SL was one of the hottest girls EVER IMO but this 20? Year old Colombian chick would have 0% chance of knowing who that is! How is she supposed to understand the joke / complement? Another; I was on a double date with my buddy Joey in the states, he commented that he needed a hair cut and said that he would shave his head but didn't want to look like the singer form Midnight Oil. WHO? A 1 hit wonder form the 80s? Both the girls where BORN in the 80s! If you are to date a younger girl you have to be versed in some of the up to date stuff in popular culture.

I'm sure I"m missing more of the foundation stuff but this is a good start for most of the clueless.

Why do folk from Asian boards continue to talk about their women in a LATIN AMERICAN board? I have never posted on those boards because I consider the women to be not very femenine. They have virtually no shape. If you don't beleive me, look at the dog kennel that overwhelms the photo gallery everyday, if you paid for your membership. I have never been to PI but I have spend a lot of time in So-Cal and Hawaii and the hottest (there are a lot of hot chicks but the group that has the highest hit-a-bility ratio are Philipienas) are the local Philippienas. They also know what's up. The younger girl x older guy dynamic is not limited to foreign countries, it's just easier there. In the US you have to be a "sugar daddy" to have a trophy girl or arm candy. In other countries if you are not cheap and treat the girls nice that is enough! The thing girls like most is ATTENTION! Now if that comes in the form of money, affection, or drama it does not matter as long as they feel you are giving them the proper amount of attention.

I just have to throw my 2 cents worth in. Without a doubt there are only 2 countries, Colombia and Thailand with such great acceptance of young chica older guy, but it goes much further than being with a young chica in public places. The friendliness of young chicas to me [60+ kanuckistan gringo) I encounter in stores and restaurants in Colombia is in total contrast to what I encounter in Canada. The friendliness of Colombianas toward older gringos also exceeds that of chicas in Ecuador and Peru in my humble opinion. I am presently in Ecuador saving my last 32 days left on my max 180 in Colombia for when my novia has her university holidays. A few notes to older gringos wanting to have a relationship with a chica, lose the big gut, if 50+ dress 35 ish, (but no white runners) buy a trimmer and use it on the nose hairs, ears, eyebrows and down below. It's much more culturally open in Latin America vs USA / the West.

Thanks for the response. How is the nightlife in MDE? I like to party. I will also do some sightseeing as well. I need other activity than simply searching for pussy. I am treating this like a real vacation and not a pure mongering trip.

I'm generally not a huge partier. However there's about 3 Million people living in MDE, so I imagine there's some decent nightlife. If you like Salsa,
El Suave on Calle 50 is a great place to party. (though neither Cartagena or MDE has a great dance scene like Cali).

Cartagena has some excellent places to party around the Old City. Not sure if it's still there, but Tu Candela was my favorite bar / Club in Cartagena.

As far as weather, MDE has more rain, with a delightful temperature that's rarely too hot or cold. Cartagena is hot and humid.

You should have a great time going to both places.

For 10 nights, I'd definitely do both. Maybe 3 or 4 days in Cartagena and the rest in MDE.

The beach in Cartagena isn't particularly nice, but the old City is definitely worth seeing.

MDE will have better weather and in general is a bit cheaper for chicas.

Splitting your time between the two cities is a good idea and the airfare is fairly reasonable. This is what I've done. When it's winter time at home, there's nothing like spending some time on a sunny beach in Cartagena.

The beaches around the old town of Cartagena aren't great, but the beaches of Bocagrande and El Laguito are nice and the water clean and calm for swimming.

If you don't like heat and humidity, MDE would be the place for you. The last time I did a Cartagena / MDE trip, it rained the entire 7 days (not drizzle, but bucket downpours) that I was in MDE and it didn't rain at all during my 5 days in Cartagena. Needless to say, I was longing to go back to Cartagena.

I forgot to mention February is affordable in Cartagena prices drop down to about 40, and you can avail yourself of the carnival time in Barranquilla once again a lot of variety, national tourists go to Barranquilla and make stops in ctg, I met the hottest girls earlier this year during that carnival, it was fun and unforgettable

Hey alwayshorney, you can make a good decision based upon what your budget is, if you are looking for a quality and relaxing vacation while you have a variety of girls to choose from, I'd recommend Cartagena, there you get to see girls from all over Colombia and the best looking ones go to Ctg during this season because thats the place to be now during Nov to Jan, Medellin is ok it is cheaper, but simply for that reason, it is not like Cartagena and doesn't offer the same as a vacation destination, from my experience there I was jaded of the city on my second day also I got robbed twice in Medellin, in Ctg I feel safer, infanticide sounds like he didn't have a good experience in Ctg, but I disagree with him when he says there is a bunch of scammers in ctg that target tourists, thats absolutely not true, Colombia is a nice country and I think it has the nicest people in latin america, please don't let just a few bad people dull the good things out, research more and get referrals about who to deal with whether you decide between ctg and Medellin, conclusion: low prices Medellin, relaxing vacation by the ocean and variety of colombian pussy and all south america Ctg.

The only advantage to Cartagena is the beach. A girl that will set you back 30k COP in a Medellin casa will ask for a minimum of 300k COP in Cartagena. Cartagena is full of touts and scammers that target tourists, Medellin isn't. Most of the best looking girls in Cartagena will be from Medellin. If this is purely a sex-cation, you're better off sticking in Medellin the entire trip. If you need a cover story and some beach / old city photos for back home, then do a pitstop in Cartagena.
