I don't get the attraction. I agree they are hard to miss in the streets surrounding the museum and most of the side streets in the Centro.

But on the up side the glue sniffers are highly susceptible to suggestion and their reasoning and negotiating skill are almost non existent.

Glue sniffers often get started when they are very young because they don't have enough to eat at home. Works great as an appetite suppressant.

I am so sorry I started a debate on this sad issue. I just wanted to help this new visitor to have a look at something different, without risking much.

So you want to see some glue sniffers and perhaps partake in them? Go to Botero Plaza and stand directly in front of the Museum Antoguia, then walk approximately 150 feet to your left and you will see a street and and on the left hand side a lot of glue sniffers hang out. You will also find them sitting on doorsteps, benches, etc. In and around this area and the Church about 300 feet to the left of the Museum. They typically have small black plastic bags that that they breathe the stuff in and out of. You really can't miss them as they look pretty dazed and confused. Have fun!

Actually, if one really wants to see that, that is not the "best" place. That area is full of low-level SWs, but few of them are so badly addicted. The real zoo for young poor souls of both sexes is under the metro, from Plaza Botero to Prado Station, and the alleys at left and right. Don't go there at night, please.

The other area where glue-sniffing SWs hang out is near San Diego, on the other side of 43 A of the poor barrio Nikitao (West). I believe 50% of those girls will try to take money from your pockets, if you take them to a room. I befriended one of them, and it's really incredible the experience she's giving me.

Her body is perfect, in spite of the dumb face caused by sniffing glue. She's perfectly clean and smells good (not the mouth, because of what she sniffs). She brought new girls with us each time. I agree is stupid to take a taxi for those two blocks, but I was giving directions to someone who, misled by some idiot taxi driver, did not go there to have a look yet and is still not oriented. We don't want to see him walking nightime there.
Besides that, I did not mean to say to go to BE FROM Conejitas by taxi. I just meant: go to BE by taxi (wherever you are).

On the other hand, I really don't have the desire to spend time in Conejitas or Barra Ejecutiva. I do want to get Black Page to show me where the glue sniffers hang out. I have spent time in El Centro but the geography, including the street signs, are confusing.

Try Bar Hilton a few blocks the wrong direction from Ejecutivo. I've been in there a few times and saw girls sniffing glue and / or snorting cola. Warning -- this area is rough.

Don't go with watch, smartphone or valuables. Buy a cheap GSM phone with local SIM. Dress low style. Don't project an intimidated look. Show you know where you are going and where you want to go. Leave taking a taxi from the front.

You have NO danger inside those places (that's not a far west saloon), incl. Conejitas, while the problems happen outside. Get a beer from the first waiter (6 k). Avoid the first girls who will come to you. Blend, if you can.

Better than everything would be to go with someone the first time, but I went anywhere alone the first times and I enjoyed.

It's more quiet than before. Conejitas is just ugly, but it's an experience to try, if one knows how to move around.

Respectfully (no irony), taxi driver may have assessed your look (evident foreigner? evident money availability?) and judged it more suitable to Fase II but not compatible with the Centro streets at night.

My advice to those who think "should I go or shouldn't I? Is it dangerous or is it not?": try to go to Centro at afternoon to visit the Museum. Then go around bars. Then wait 6-7-8 PM. When you think you are passing the threshold of risk, go back (by taxi).

If you feel there is no risk, but your Galaxy S6 is not in your pocket anymore, then you made a mistake. If your S6 is still in your hand, and you wonder why 10 teen guys are following you, then you made another mistake of evaluation.

I went to El Penol today. I spotted a group of 4-5 US sharp guys climbing with some effort the 660 stair steps, saying something like "in Afghanistan it was better", and led by one who knew the place and was guiding the others.
