    Three Card Monty

About a week ago I was at the Pasteur pharmacy near Ground Zero daydreaming on a bench around 11 am A couple of women and a group of 3 or 4 guys I did not recognize set up an old school three card monty game. Every so often you see the games pop up just like the guys who sell useless TV antenna dongles that are supposed to get you free cable TV. This group was unusual because as I mentioned I didn't recognize them, and because they were a little more aggressive with the classic moves to attract players. I told one of the spotters that they were on camera. He then told me "I know but we have lookouts". A few minutes later a motorcycle patrol came through and they stopped the game and stashed the makeshift styrofoam table under the bench I was sitting on. Nice reward for warning them, they just throw me under the bus LOL! I wasn't worried because like I told the guy the police were watching the whole thing on camera. Anyway I forgot all about it and went to the Opera mall to look for a wireless phone charger. Probably a couple of hours later I was talking to a girl by one of the sculptures in front of the museum when I saw the two women from the three card monty game come darting through the thicket of trees in between the front of the museum and the back of the culture palace. I noticed them out of the corner of my eye because they were moving at an odd angle and pace. It's good to be aware of that sort of thing in Centro. So less than a minute later I see police on motorcycles and on foot closing in on them and flanking them. The police stopped them right in the middle of the plaza, wrote them summonses and checked their cedulas. They were led away in handcuffs after a conversation with a guy they brought over from the area near Veracruz church. I suspect they pickpocketed the guy because that is one of the three card monty cons. Centro never fails to entertain.

If you are having to keep whipping out your phone in public just to communicate, you are just putting a very large bullseye on your back (1. You don't speak Spanish (can't explain to the cops you got robbed, what happened, the description of the thieves, etc.) 2. You've got fancy electronics that you seem to be eager to be relieved of).
Ooh by no means am I encouraging you go there without knowing Spanish (if you have time and want to stay longer try to learn it) it will help you dramatically and you will more fun. But I want to get rid of this persona that you have to know Spanish in order to go to Colombia, I almost cancelled my trip last minute reading this forum and people telling me if you do not know Spanish do not go. At the end of the day one language everyone speaks is money, if you got them pesos you can make moves. Also next time I go to Colombia I will definitely learn some Spanish beforehand, imagine how much fun I can have speaking crack at these chicas.

Thanks, did they give you a hassle if you were bringing multiple visitors a day? Or was it as long as you keep it to what the room limits?

Great reporting. How did you create a false Facebook account so quickly? I've been trying to this on and off for a couple years and each time the shut me down. I've just ended up using my regular account which is no big deal. But I'the love to have a dedicated Facebook account for this hobby.
One thing that helped me is that I did not go on a rampage adding chica's the first day. This shows facebook that you might be a bot or just randomly adding people. I usually add 10-15 per day the first 2-3 days. Make 1-2 post a day (it can be something as simple as a picture of you and a nice caption, or a quote from your fav book wherever floats your boat), after the third day I start increasing my friend request to 30 per day and take a couple of days off then keep making posts about random shit (since there were riots happening I was talking about how I stand with Colombia in solidarity and stuff like that, a couple chicas liked that). But key point is do not go on a spree adding ever chica that is how you get deleted.

Nounce how did you reply to a post in the Rio de Janeiro thread and have your response come up in the Medellin thread?

For anyone who did not see the post that Nounce was replying to it was asking that persons please not respond to a long report by re-posting the whole report because it is redundant and takes up space to where people are having to scroll lot to get past responses.

For anyone who is just not familiar with how to do this, it is simple but not necessarily intuitive so just on that chance that some people do not know I am giving the simple instructions.

To only quote part of the post you are replying to do this. Once you hit "reply with quote" the whole entire post of that person comes up and at the beginning will be a bracket with like the posters name and the word quote and brackets around that, at the end there may just be the world quote with a bracket around it. Never delete the brackets or anything within the brackets, but use left click on the mouse to highlight (same as if you were going to copy the text) and drag it across the text you want to delete and then hit delete or backspace. Be sure that whatever you type as a response is outside the quote brackets, When you go to post everything you left inside the brackets will be inside the blue quote box and your reply will be outside of it. And yes I have seen people screw this up to where it looked like they typed what the other person said.

TBH I haven't been using it much lately bcos I don't visit MDE much. But you can try Travel Brotherhood or Universal Brotherhood. They are much quieter ATM due to COVID.

It fills up the page with unnecessary repeat info, and requires too much scrolling to get to the new stuff. It's an etiquette thing. Cut down the quoted report to the parts of it you want to address. Or if it's just a general "kudos" you want to give, consider not quoting the report at all, and putting something in the title to help others know who or what you're writing about. Every now and then this comes up. Now that we're getting reports again, I thought I would bring it up.

    Orange is the new neon

I've always been behind the times when it comes to fashion. Today near ground zero I believe I became aware of a new fashion trend. Early 1990's neon resort wear. Besides this fine gentleman, another more Nordic looking guy is also impossible to ignore. Is this maybe a clever decoy strategy so Centro rats can go about our business under the radar?

    Facebook Girls Search

I have the feeling there is much smarter way to do the job. Any advice?

I just want to elaborate a little in what Nounce is saying. What Nounce is doing for you by supplying links to those profiles is giving you the 'seeds' to start growing your list, you need to start searching those chicas friend list.

I have been building my lists for about two years now and I have over 2000 contacts in Medellin now. I got most of those in the first year and slowed down after that. Most of them are not attractive enough for me to want to have a cita with but I keep them as FB "friends" because FB algorithms will help you get more hot prepago chicas in your "people you may know" when you have more Medellin chicas already in your friends list, and also their friends that are prepago will spot you and send you friend request. If a girls looks like she is prepago I send her a friend request so I can see who her friends are, I never turn down a friend request from a female in Medellin or Colombia for that matter.

You cannot look at the FB page of all chicas that they are prostitutes and figure out for sure that they are. But for some there are clues that they are. Some chicas will have one photo buried in their profile that shows them in their underwear on their bed or standing in front of a mirror, some just have excessive bikini photos. I have also noticed that many prepagos will either have an image of silhouette of a woman with horns, or they will have a photo of themselves with horns somehow drawn or pasted to their head like the devil, they may also have the devil emoji stamped on an image (all these horns symbolize "horny".

Also some may have photos of cash money. Of course another sure sign that the chica that you are looking at is that she has male gringos in her friends list, especially of they have an obvious fake name, like Ralph G Medellin or some celebrities name, but not all do some have plain gringo names. These gringo profiles can be gold mines for prepago profiles as many of them are fake accounts who's only friends are prepagos and other gringo mongers. I post below some photos that are more creative that indicate she is a prepago. Prepagos often seem to have more 'friends' overall too, like at least 2000, not always but often. It is not a sure sign but it is a clue. If the profile you are looking at does not list their city.

The last thing I am going to mention is how to avoid what I will call here 'rabbit hole syndrome'. If a person is not somehow organized this is going to happen. I hear it all the time. A person can start looking the friends list of a chica, then start looking at friends list of one of her friends, then start looking at the friends list of one of her friends and get lost and forget where you started and have no real ideal of any progress. To avoid this I use the folder system in my browser bookmarks. I create folders to save the profiles that I want to search, then I have another folder to save profiles in while I work my way down the list I saved in the folder I am working on. So I put a limit on each folder so to say, like 20 profiles, then I have the next folder set up so that as I work my way through the first twenty in the first folder I have that other folder to save new profiles I want to search so that I can work my way through the first 20 before starting on the next twenty, etc etc. This is my system, maybe something else works better for someone else, but I am saying to be thorough you need to be organized.

I now get friend request from chicas at varying rates sometimes every day, my "people you may know list" is often crowded with prepagos. Once you start getting started FB will do a lot of the work for you.

I should've checked out Sofi more first, before my most recent post

So I read up on the Sofi page. The free ATM's have to be in the Allpoint network and when I searched Medellin, Antioquia, Colombia, on the Sofi Website, I came up with zero results, zero ATMs.

Also, their other "benefits" are mostly (I didn't read in detail because they lost me at zero ATM's) linked to the user having direct deposit of paychecks. That cuts me out also, I haven't had a W-2 in years.

So, anywho, I would prefer to be wrong in this instance so you get what you signed up for, but I will be sticking with Chuck (Schwab) for now. If I am wrong, the edumucate me so other Users here can glean the benefit.

    Good Luck!

I'm not sure if you realize this, but most of the guys on this board are closer to double or more than your your age if your in your twenties.

Hell, you're not quite even out of diapers yet, and partaking in all that Colombia has to offer.

I'm more than double your age, and if I knew what your finding out about at such a young age, I would of had a much different life.

And yes, if you like it in Colombia, start studying Spanish, it will greatly enhance things for you.

And although old farts rule, I can see some Chicas enjoying a young stud versus an old and fat fart, yet at the end of the day it's all about the dinero for them.

She is a candy / coffee girl who is usually hanging around other Venezuelan girls and a few guys either in Parque Berrio or right at ground zero. There's a bunch of taller Venezuelans that parade around the area, but I don't ever recall seeing a tall candy / coffee girl out with a statuesque physique. Must be quite a looker though if she's quoting 45 K, or that's the starting gringo price. I have to give the Venezuelans credit though, there much more adept at bargaining or asking for more than their Colombian counterparts. At least that's been my experience with them. Last Thursday I went with a new one, a shorter Venezuelan, and when I asked her how much, she said what will you pay me, versus just saying the typical 30 K which is the default price.
