1 day into my trip, just a couple things to report.
Parque Lleras is largely open. There are still some areas closed off but probably 70% complete. It is a little nicer but for the time spent on the work, I would have expected better. FWIW, there were not a ton of girls inside the park. In fact there were just a few on the fringes. Most still hung out on Calle 10.
Lleras Park bar. For the first time, I saw a fair number of lookers there last night. I'm not totally in love with the vibe but it works. Going to hit it up tonight to see if the quality is still there.
Gustos (remember, my dick, my money); really disappointed. Arrived about 11:30 or 12. It was nearly empty. Didn't spend much time up there. Went back to Lleras Park.
The mansion bar: spent a few hours there. I don't have a room there but yes, you can still pay the cover and go in. My impression: the girls are a level below alot of places. But I've been really pleased with the quality of sessions with the girls I pull from there. It's negotiable but 200 k will get you a good session.
Last but not least: happy massage. A trip to Medellin is not complete until I go to Happy. It is not FS. Nor is it inexpensive. But I just love that place. The girls are awesome. Again, he only.

You transfer money to your bank account when you want to take money out at an ATM. If you were to get 'scoped' or kidnapped or something. They would take out the daily limit money but see the balance was almost gone. There wouldn't be any motivation to keep you after they got all the money. ATMs don't show balances in investment accounts at the same financial institution.
Same with a transaction limit on your credit card. Usually that means notification if your do more than 3 transactions in a day (or whatever you set it at) it doesn't mean you can't do 4 or 5. Even if your bank allows you to set a hard limit, that just means they wait a day to get a few more charges, and the next day and the next etc. BTW what do you want to do with your credit card anyway? Colombia is mostly a cash based economy. Prepay your hotel or place your are staying and pay cash for your restaurants, taxis, bar bills, etc. So what happens if there is an emergency and you need to buy a plane ticket or something else? Just transfer money from your investment account to your bank account and pay in cash. It shouldn't wreck your lifestyle if it happens to come up.
At the very least hide your damn credit card somewhere no one could ever find it. A lot of better hotels have a security box in the reception area (at my hotel it is like a safe deposit box). Put your card in an envelope and leave it there.
As to the passport. You call the American Embassy in Bogota and they will help you get an emergency passport. You won't be able to fly on a copy of our passport.

The worst thing was that they had my personal laptop which they used my face to open and then added a pin to unlock afterwards. Since that was a 'trusted' device they got into my eBay and Paypal to cause havoc by adding my credit cards.
For passport I needed to go to Bogota. I had photo copies of my passport, birth certificate, and drivers license. All of that helped. I was in line at 9:30 am and had my new passport by 3 pm and flew out that night. It's just an Emergency Passport (good for 1 year), so need to renew.

Posts: 573San Peter Apartment Suites. Laureles
On my last trip, I stayed at the San Peter Apartment Suites in Laureles. The place is popular among gringos. I thought it was a decent place. It has a kitchen with a stove, microwave, sink, and frig. It also has a washer. There is a separate bedroom. The bathroom is fine except that water temperature is hard to control. It seems to be cold or very hot. The girls did not like that. Ja ja ja. It was guest friendly and I had no problems with girls visiting me. I did not have any threesomes so I can't report on two girls coming at the same time but girls coming on the same day at different times was not a problem.
All in, it was about $50 a night. I booked thru Agoda and you have to pay San Peter directly when you arrive. They surprised me by saying cash only, no credit card so you need to hit those ATMs to pay the bill upfront. They did give me an extra day to pay. They said only on Airbnb could you pay by credit card but there is an additional charge when you book through Airbnb.
The biggest issue is probably noise at night. There is a bar connected to the hotel / apt but I think it is the nightclub next door that is the issue. Music blaring until 2 am or so. I don't know because when I am tired, I just sleep right through the music and I am dead to the world. If you are a light sleeper, it could be a problem. That was my room. Maybe there are rooms less noisy. I don't know.
The guys staying at the place are very friendly and I spoke to a number of guys when I am in the lobby or in the elevator. It is like a small version of the Mansion because most of the guys staying there are there for the purpose.
Very close to the 70 where there are a lot of restaurants, bars, a supermarket, banks, money exchanges and everything you need as a gringo visitor. No streetwalkers though. There are some prepagos that are located in nearby apartments in Laureles based on some research but I did not partake.
There is only one elevator so it could take a while at times. 17 floor building, I think.
All the receptionists are older women and they are very nice. There is one person who does not speak English but the rest of the ladies seem to speak English.
I thought it was decent place to stay but the night time noise may be an issue for some.

When locals are talking fast it's often difficult to differentiate when one word begins and other ends, especially when they don't seem to pronounce the world endings or when 'estoy' becomes 'toy' and 'gusta' 'uta', like in the song Una Noche En Medellin where I can barely make out much besides the words in the title hah.
I do have my 'personal dictionary and phrasebook' as well (where 'repite por favor' figures at the beginning of it highlighted in yellow hah) which I'm always expanding, biggest problem for me at this point seems to be retention, hopefully should improve with more practice and exposure.
Thanks for your input, appreciated.

BTW how long did it take you (and other guys feel free to share your experience in as well) to learn the language to satisfactory level?
Also, do Colombians normally study English in schools here as part of standard curriculum, like in high schools or universities?

Posts: 112If you are looking for more normal dating experiences or friendships with a girl that speaks some English, I'd try to look for a girl interested in a language exchange. I've heard about weekly meetups in Poblado and have seen ads about language exchanges on Gringo Paisa (Facebook group for Medellin ex-pats). There are a few Facebook girls that are known for their English (can think of a couple off the top of my head). I can't give you first-hand knowledge about any of these topics, though, as I spoke Spanish fluently before I ever came to Medellin.
Upping your Spanish is definitely going to improve your experience. Also hanging out with non-English speakers is the fastest way to get there once you have a basic level of Spanish. You might want to keep a notebook with you and write down a couple of words your girls are repeating over and over again that you don't understand. Ask her to repeat that word. Put that in your translator or look it up. Try to learn ten to twenty of those words every day you hang out. That approach has worked for me as a way to improve my understanding of other languages.

Based on research that I have done, I think that there are several reasons why Medellin gets more attention on ISG that any other city in the world. It seems to be like the #1 monger destination or at least a top contender.
Several things combine to make Medellin the world's best sex worker destination:
Genetics:
The population is a mix of about 80% Spanish and 20% Native American.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paisa_(region).
The Spanish were mainly from the Extremadura and Basque areas. Women will generally be about 5'2", European features, dark eyes, dark straight hair shoulder to waist length, light brown to white skin. There are also many recent Venezuelan refugees.
Poverty:
More than 50% of the population in the Medellin metropolitan area is poor, meaning an income of under $90 per month per person.
https://www.oecd.org/education/executive.pdf
https://colombiareports.com/colombia...from-pandemic/
The youth unemployment rate amounted to 26.44 percent in 2021. The youth unemployment rate refers to the share of the economically active population aged 15 to 24 currently without work but in search of employment. The youth unemployment rate does not include economically inactive persons such as the long-term unemployed or full-time students.

Sex drive:
Spanish people seem to have a very high sex drive.

So Medellin offers a vast number of passionate, beautiful and very poor girls which may be unmatched elsewhere.
The only fly in the ointment seems to be the drugging and robbing problem, however that never or almost never happens with a WG. So long as you are paying her for sex, you should be fine. Plus of course stick to low crime areas like El Poblado and don't do anything illegal like buying drugs, selling drugs, pimping out girls, sex with underage girls etc.
