I am an avid swimmer, in the pool every day. I definitely do not want to miss my laps when in Medellin. Were do you usually swim? Do you know different pools? I once read the one at the sport complex (stadium) is good. Many thanks for your intel.

Well I don't get in my typical 5 to 6 swims a week while in Medellin, yet make up for it with all the time spent pounding the pavement in El Centro, and although I don't get as much upper body workout missing swimming or surfing everyday, my lower extremity takes and gives a pounding in lieu of this when I'm not getting wet!

For swimming you can go Estado the major sports complex and see what their hours are and which pools are open, I have been allowed to swim there for free at times, and at other times you can pay. The public sports complexes are administered by Inder I believe and you should go to their website for more information. Some of the pools at Estadio are very deep for diving.

I personally go to the sports complex in Bellen administered by Inder as well, it's called Unidad Deportes and they have two pools there. The pools are typically open between 8 AM and 4 PM everyday, but free swim I think is after 11 AM on the weekends due to swim school. Also best to avoid the pool between 12 and 1 PM on weekdays due to the swim groups / masters during lunch hour. You can swim there for free but have to have a lane line reservation thru their website which I can't figure out so I just pay the 8,500 COP which is expensive but just show up whenever I want.

Other pools include one at University EAFIT if your a student it's free and is not open to the public. There's also a water park near the local airport with pools but odd hours.

There are hot outdoor showers in Bellen, and they keep the water on the cool side just under 80 degrees which is perfect for swimming, and after about a 100 meters it feels great and is refreshing versus a warm pool. Probably very few board members can relate to this, but it's kind of like the difference between a wet and dry Chica!

I don't know where you hail from, but it might take you a day to acclimate to the altitude.

A good day in Medellin starts with blowing a load in the morning. Swimming laps mid-day, followed by blowing another load, and than happy hour, followed by a nice dinner.

That's my perfect day, and I try repeat this day in and day out but sometimes I get sidetracked.

You answered your own question, not sure what to suggest, but seems like you already know where to find them, IE: what did the ones tell you when you seen them at the Mall and high end restaurants? Very curious!

Stop worrying so much about what other people are doing.

If you prefer to keep your return ticket open and are concerned the airline will give you problems, solve the problem your way based on what works for your situation. If someone else solves it another way, which fits their situation, then be happy they found a solution. If someday their method causes them problems, don't worry about it. You're not their mother.

There is no hooker girl scout guide with all the steps to achieve higher ranks clearly spelled out. Not every chica takes the same path. Some working in El Centro were working in Parque Lleras or the Mansion a few years ago. Some working in Poblado were working El Centro. They all started out different ways and different places. Some get plastic surgery, some don't. Some get paid more, some get paid less.

None of that matters. The only thing that matters is:.

Nothing wrong with playing peacemaker and the concept of live and let live. Yet I'd say few if any here are "worrying" about how others choose to roll. I'm certainly not. Yet we are here to provide useful information, and most of the readers here never post. But yes, just because someone may be happy with what they are doing and getting doesn't mean they can't be even happier. I was happy as hell with Costa Rica until I found Colombia. There's no reason to hold back useful information because it may agitate a handful of vocal posters.

Also if someone is scared of their own shadow in Centro it's possible they can get over it, by understanding the true risks and what to do and not to do. I once ran into a NYC cop at a daytime casa and he was scared to go in the strip joint Club Maracaibo at night, calling it "sketchy. " I convinced him the place was plenty safe, just cab it in and out at night and tip the guy out front hailing the cabs. We had traded numbers and he later told me that he went back and had a great time there. He was misinterpreting the place is all.

On the return plane ticket, some are under the impressive that getting a refund from airlines is a big deal, but that's far from my experience when dealing with Jetblue and Spirit for a cancellable return ticket. They must refund if you cancel with 24 hours, federal law. In fact the refund is likely all taken care of by a bot when cancellations are done in that time frame. This is useful information for Americans, even if someone who says differently or has had other experiences wants to bicker about it.

I really enjoyed this report. I was in Centro yesterday evening. The police had most of the streets connecting to La Oriental between San Antonio and San Diego blocked as if they were expecting an assault on the police station next to the San Jose church. Nothing happened, maybe because rain showers broke out just after dark. Anyway, I cut it short and went home to beat the rain.

Had a pretty good day, which consisted of a morning session at Ground Zero, lap swimming around lunch time, another late afternoon session at Ground Zero, and back at the ranch for happy hour and dinner.

Today I met one of my regulars in El Centro at 10 AM and took her to Hotel Deseos across from the bus stop for the Airport. The Hotel is very old and very funky. I'm surprised the elevator works in this 8 story building and is so slow it's faster to just use the stairs. The place is at least fifty years old with lots of original wood doors and tile work. No plastic coated melamine doors or cabinets in this place. The rooms have TV's, fans, and are very large, yet with tiny bathrooms.

I've probably been in at least 20 different rooms there, and they all have windows to the outside, cloth drapes and very slippery floors when wet. Today I was lucky I got a room that actually had a showerhead on the shower. I typically take my street urchins to Zona Rosa, no issues, no recording of documents, and 13 K. I also use Premier Plaza but nobody gets in without an ID, and 16 K. And Deseos costs 18 K, the most expensive of the three, but no document checks, and most of the rooms have mirrors on the ceiling. If you like watching your Chica riding you or while she is blowing you, some guys might like this place, but again, it's old and funky like me so I'm right at home..
