Unfortunately the labs are taking advantage of the situation where somebody (travelers) need a very quick turnaround time to get a test result. And to further complicate things, a lot of labs don't run tests over the weekends, so as an example if you have flight on a Tuesday you may have a problem getting a test result within the time window required by Countries requiring a PCR test within 72 hours. Hence labs are offering same day test results with the test being taken early in the morning of which they charge a ton of money as you have pointed out.

Some 72 hours ones is from the date of the report, not the date of the test. Also, some count only working days so weekend days are not counted.

I read that Venezuela has discovered a cure for covid 19 which for me is better than a vaccine. If it is indeed successful that would bring an end to the need for tests or vaccine and the good times will be here again.

You should share the link. But it does not matter. Fake News. Venezuela is not known for Big Pharma. Most the educated people with money left already. So the Scientists worth anything left the country months or years ago. Medical research costs big money. Venezuela has none. Common sense dictates that Venezuela finding anything is a super wet fantasy dream.

I read that free tests are available. I guess the problem is the turnaround time but I am still getting e-mails from the airlines that tell me there are no change fees if you need to postpone a flight reservation.

Yes one lab quoted me $325.00. They advised come at 8 am and we will have your test results back at noon. That's as much as the dam flight. I mainly do my mongering in Mexico now. Living in Texas those weekend trips are a lot easier but thought about going back to Medelland but at that price I'll wait.

SJobs must be there already. Just the idea that Maduro will save the world and USA is awesome by itself.

So, now we will see people further divided into new religions who will:

A) disregard any prudence and with baseball hat dive into bars because protected by hydroxychloroquine;.

B) open a "Maduro Fan Club" and request a visa for Venezuela to enjoy Venezolanas, instead of risking and hunting them in Medellin;.

C) stay at home and read ISG while waiting for better times.

Surprised to not have read it, yet, but there are restrictions in place for this weekend.

Alcohol sales end at 6 pm on Friday, until maybe Monday or Tuesday.

Bars close at 10 pm.

I am not sure how strictly this will be enforced. Example: bars are to close at midnight, recently, and I was in one until 1 a. Bars were not allowed to serve alcohol, going back a month or so. One I was in was putting an empty Aguila Cero bottle in front of every customer that ordered a beer.

So, I don't quite know what to expect, but it certainly won't be some crazy Halloween night club vibe.

I'm considering a finca or other options, but I'm sure many locals are now doing the same, unfortunately. Every finca I have talked to, despite being available on AirBnB, etc. , is already rented.

TBH, I might plan to head back to Motel Ibiza and throw a party. The only downside is 96 k per person after the first 4. Of course, that, the rent, and the alcohol would all likely be paid for by yours truly. So, I'm going to try to keep tabs on this throughout the week. I asked a bar manager two nights ago about a possible ley seca this weekend and he confidently said no. I'm wondering if they have some tricks up their sleeves, or if I should be doing whatever it takes to uncover an option to assure I can spend the evening with a group of friends and not worry about the rules.

You're trying to find dates on seeking, trying to set up dates 2 months in advance and think you're going to get anyone for 25k per hour?

I finally see the humor.

It's not impossible to find someone to agree to 25k for an hour. You might even end up keeping her for several hours without paying more. Depends on how long it takes the coroner to show up after she dies from the overdose of whatever drug she took.

However, instead of Seeking Arrangements, you need to be looking on "Seeking a spot on the sidewalk to curl up and pass out. " You don't even need to pay a subscription fee.

That would be awesome, I hope it's true! They have some beautiful islands as well as women from what I've seen on YouTube. I've met a few in Medellin and are were very nice and seemed very educated. I'm not talking politics and would want to visit if things settle down which I'm sure they will if this is true.

I wouldn't put much faith in that "cure."

Members beware to check hotel rules and buildings security front desk polity. Ask your AirBnb host about these rules upfront, to avoid any surprises. This new two visitor policy per stay is VERY annoying, it has to do with COVID or not sure what else. Also, AirBnb options are quite limited, for some reason.

Any guys down there that is experiencing any problems with the lodging requirements. I looked through others sites and groups haven't heard any news of this. I was suspecting some of the hotels might implement this tactic. Which is why I'm not going to one of my usual stops, Estalar blue, which is cheap when I head down in December.

My friend stayed at Factory Lofts (Laureles). He should have never stayed there. They have a nice rooftop bar but you cannot even invite your male friends for beers.

I think I dodged a bullet. I almost booked an airbnb for that place since it has nice views of the city from one of the pic with good nice amenities. I read the guest policies and was turned off by it so didn't even bother to contact the host.

I used to fly to Colombia for the weekend. Maybe arrive Thursday evening or Friday morning depending on flights and prices. Fly out Sunday or Monday. Now we have to pay $250 to $400 depending where you go to have the PCR test next day I have to go and stay a while for it to be worth it.
