As someone has mentioned numerous times on this forum (could have been you): Our hobby of mongering only thrives in countries where the male citizens are already resident mongers. Meaning, legal prostitution was well established in these countries long before we gringos caught wind of it.

You are absolutely right in your assessment. These people will never leave us alone. They just want us to be paying alimony and child support in the States. They want us to work hard at a job we hate to one day own a house that we then have to pay property taxes on. They want us to marry a woman and have her spend all of our money, never have sex with us and then go and have sex with some other guy using our money. This society is just utterly disgusting.

And the other side to this are guys who are already in this predicament (married, kids, wife or ex-wife, alimony, etc.) who are trying to hate on the rest of us who chose not to the same road in pursuit of this sucker-lifestyle. They see us enjoying our life bullshit free and want to try to make it so that we are miserable with them. Think about it:

Neighbor: I'm off to Disney World with the wife and kids. Probably won't get any pussy from the wife, but the kids will have a blast. How about you?

You: I'm off to the Adult Disney World: Colombia (or Thailand, DR, CR, PI, etc.). Probably will have so much pussy thrown at me that I will have to hide from it after a few days. Have fun!

un report highlights 'drug-sex' tourism concerns in medellin.

the united nations office on drug and crime (undoc) and medellin mayor's office released a report friday highlighting public concerns surrounding 'drug-sex tourism' in colombia's second-largest city.

the report examined the relationship between regular tourist services, such as those provided by hotel operators and taxi drivers, and the demand for illicit activities, including drug consumption and sex commerce in relation to the [CodeWord908] of children and adolescents in the city of medellin.

although the report did not offer a 'rigorous study' or 'specific numbers' on tourist behavior or preferences in relation to drug use or sex tourism, it reported on an investigation carried out through interviews and document reviews that attempted to explore the hidden world of tourist vice in the city – primarily in the neighborhoods of el poblado and el centro, where there are a high number of foreign visitors.

the study classified two groups of visitors who were highly likely to seek drugs and sex: wealthy older men staying at hotels while on business in the city and who may search out sexual services; and low-budget backpackers who stay at 'party hostels' and who are likely to search for cheap drugs.

according to the investigation, many of those seeking drugs were more likely to purchase sex as well, as sex-purchasers were more likely to find drugs. the report argued that the 'informality' of the 'sexual service' industry in medellin lent itself to connections with illicit drug markets and [CodeWord908] of children and adolescents.

foreigners were reportedly attracted to the 'paradise of drugs' reputation of the city due to the availability of 'high-quality and low-priced psychoactive substances, ' combined with a perceived low priority, or even complicity, of local law enforcement in regards to drug consumption among groups of foreigners.

the report also mentioned tourists who, in their visit to medellin and colombia, tour plantations and laboratories connected with the national and international drug trade.

'it is a business and the question is economic, ' said an anonymous local source interviewed on underground drug and sex markets aimed at foreigners. 'in medellin, 'foreigner' is synonymous with 'money'. '

in the investigation's interviews with minors who had been victims of [CodeWord908], all admitted to having had sexual encounters with foreigners.

the report offered recommendations to clean up medellin's reputation, hoping to decrease the number of tourists visiting the city motivated by sex and drugs by increasing controls of travel agencies playing up the image of 'pablo escobar' lawlessness that still haunts the city two decades after his death in 1993.

in assessing the problems and solutions to 'drug-sex tourism, ' the report was careful to mention that it did not wish to tarnish the city's 'efforts, ' which have 'deservedly' given it a reputation as a growing latin american center of 'innovation, transformation, culture, and entrepreneurship. '

Well, not all actually. :-D I have a funny story about that. I had a taxi driver that did not know where it was. I had to give him general directions and even then he missed the "exit" and kept going towards the airport. I did not pay attention till we got pulled over by the cops as part of a random search. The cops asked me where we were headed. I told him La Isla and they thought I was bluffing so they made us both get out of the car and started asking questions about where I am from, my cedula etc. I kept my cool and when they realized that the taxi driver was truly lost, they wished me "buenos noches" and gave the driver proper directions on how to turn back and get to La Isla. This was this summer.

I am envious. I remember my first trip to the City of Eternal Spring. Over the past six years, I've probably spent a year there. I've made some great friends, and provided scholarships for a number of the beautiful girls there. On my first trip I made a decision to change the life of one girl, in particular. I met her on my first trip, and she's still along for the ride, which has included a world that she never dreamed existed. Seeing her discover new and different places was and is such a pleasure.
