It really depends on the girl's immediate needs. If she is a popular girl and has had enough clients that month to pay her rent, food etc, then she will be more apt to hold her ground on the price. If she needs immediate cash flow then she is more likely to drop her price.

Medellin will never be as big of a monger destination as other places for two reasons. One is fear. There are many people that would love to go to Colombia to bang hot girls that don't have the balls. I openly discuss my travels with my circle of friends and family and the ONLY place they shake their head in amazement at is when I mention the country of Colombia. Anyone that has extensively traveled in South and Central America knows there are plenty of places that are MUCH worse but the average Joe doesn't have a clue. Mention Nicaragua and they don't bat an eyelash but mention Colombia and they shit their pants. The other reason Medellin will never be a huge gringo monger destination is that the "families" in Medellin that control the money in that city won't allow it. This is why there isn't a single freelance h00ker bar in the entire city. Yes, prostitution is legal and tolerated all over Colombia, but in your face, out in the open Sosua, DR or San Jose, CR style will never fucking happen, ever.

Exactamente amigo, thats why Colombia is my favorite spot. Guys who have never been think Pablo Escobar is still running around killing everybody. And the girls are so beautiful and sweet. But one thing I do is respect the city and culture. I don't do casas but I love the strip clubs. I usually will make plans for an afternoon delight with the girl at my condo. We rarely leave the condo except maybe to make a pizza run to go. People would instantly be able to size up the situation if we go out in public for long stays and that could lead to dirty looks and potential problems. The girls don't seem to have problems with hanging out in public but I do. I've had strippers invite me to their homes to have a meal with the family but its not that kind of party. I like to stay within my comfort zone. I've always said that if you stay low-key you can expirience Medellin at its best verses showing your biz and strutting with your chest poked out. Remember Colombians arent nosy like Dominicans they have their own agenda, they only pay attention when you make them, but then you could have problems.

This is one of the most interesting things I have read on these boards and its so true. I always try to pay what I feel comfortable with and what I think is fair without over paying. I often take a few guys on these trips with me and most of them only do one trip per year. I tell them approximately what to pay the girls and almost everytime when I ask these guys what they gave the girl they over pay by anywhere from 50 to 100 us dollars more then they should have. There answer is always I am on vacation its no problem. When I think of it I understand there thoughts, they save for these trips all year and then just want to enjoy there 5 or 7 days. But I have always been just the opposit, not that I go down there and am cheap, as a matter of fact I probably over tip some people more than others. I am big with taking care of the house keeping, front desk guys and bartenders because I often stay in the same place time and time again. But the girls I always try to pay what the going rate is, they always start high and I almost always get them down to what it should be.

My thought is somewhat different then the guy that saves all year and just wants to go crazy for his one trip a year, which I do understand, but I would rather try not to go nuts with over paying and I enjoy doing 5 or 6 trips per year. I use to do a trip every 2 months but with the economy its been about every 3 months now. So trying to be more responsible with the cash probably allows me that one extra trip per year.

They are going to expect more from you than a latino. You are a tourist you are nieve (or so they think) and you have money. Then when you act cheap they resent you for it because they expect you to pay more. Where as a latino they would accept the lower price. Its a tough situation but from my experience pay the gringo tax but don't overpay so much that you look like an idiot and ruin it for future mongerers

I agree with there being no need to pay more than 100k, but as far as "prices going up all over town", your beef is with the Colombianos.

You have less than one percent of (male) gringos in Medellin at any given time during the year concentrated at The Mansion (both houses) and the handful of properties owned by Poblado Rentals. It's not even a speck in this very large city."We" may be fucking up the prices within out very small prepago / gringo circle, but it's not enough of us there at one time to effect what happens all year long. If prices are going up at Loutron, Fase Dos, New Life, Coffee House, San Diego, etc, its because the Colombianos are causing and paying those prices.

This same argument cannot be made in places like San Jose and Sosua, where 99. 9% of the people going there are gringo male tourist. You could be in Medellin and (if not staying at the Mansion) never bump into another gringo your entire trip. Outside of the Mansion group I did a Casa run with, I saw one other guy from Florida hanging at New Life (was staying at an apartment) , and one other gringo we spoke to who was coming out of the Hard Rock Cafe. I was in Medellin for 5 days and went everywhere (and a lot of times by foot).

When I went to San Diego Grill, La Isla, and La Mansana, the three of us were the only gringos in all three places. All three places were packed: with Colombianos.

Any cabbie will know where Punto Cero is. It's about a 5K cab ride from the Centro, very close, a bit further from El Poblado and maybe 15K-20K from Bello.

You pull in with your car, moto, cab, whatever to a garage. You go upstairs and there is a room with a big bed, a stripper pole, a Turkish bath, a Jacuzzi / shower and a little safe looking thing. You never see anyone, everything is done through this little caja with a mini bar above it. At the end, they bill you for whatever. Six hours is 90K pesos, everything else (booze, condoms, sex toys, drinks, food) is billed along with that at the end. The prices are not cheap but reasonable enough. For a Red Bull, a vibrator, a bottle of rum and a Gatorade it was maybe 80K pesos.

In El Centro there are numerous fuck hotels, most of them greasy. A couple that cater to the trio of "respectable" strip joints on Maracaibo are OK. Hotel Country is the older one, they have big rooms with a Jacuzzi that are 30K S-F and 37 or 40 K on Saturday (I forget). They have smaller 20K rooms as well if you're just in and out, and probably short time rates. I have fond memories of this place and the rooms are decent, but it's worn down for sure. Clearly a fuck hotel. The other place that opened recently right by those strip joints (one block heading up the hill) is Hotel Romantic Suites. This place is cool. It's got cheesy themed rooms (a football pitch with fake grass and a goal net above the bed LOL; various Italian, Egyptian and other national themes; cartoon themes, etc) and the setup is nice. While it's clearly a fuck hotel, it does not appear run down and the service is excellent. Big TVs, nice beds (firm though) , Jacuzzi, awesome showers (better than fancy hotel ones) and stereo systems. Cool setup that costs 25K for 3 hours (additional hours 8K) or 29K from 7PM to 2PM (best deal) or 61K for whatever time you check in before 7PM until 2PM the next day. Saturdays are slightly more.

Wilt. The Hotel Romantic Suites sounds awesome. I have been looking for a place like this. I used to stay at one called the ALadin in Maracaibo (Venezuela) untill recently as the scene over there has become terrible. (thats a whole nother story) Anyway, The aladin used to have themed rooms and really it was nicer than most luxury hotels. This Hotel Romantic Suites sounds very similar. With large rooms, Large showers et. Def. Setup as a fuck hotel but nice enough to stay in for a whole vacation. Room service et. The works. I know it sounds a little nuts but, could one stay a whole week at Hotel Romantic Suites for a week. How far is it from Poblado. Is the area nice or run down. Thanks!

I was never quoted anything until face to face with any RL or FB girl. The most I was quoted was 100K and I would rate her a solid 6. (I am of the belief guys over rate girls. Nobody will admit their girl was a 5. As reference, I rate the best handful of mansion girls solid 6-7s and the occasional 8. And even still there are plenty I would not touch if you paid me. To me a 10 is flawless skin, toned, all body parts in proportion and if you take her photo 6 out of 10 times she looks very pretty. (everyone takes a bad photo once in a while.) Excellent observation Manizales. I shit you not when I say that gas were I am has shot up from $3. 19 to $3. 39 in just a matter of a few days. Possibly had something to do with the Dow going up also (correlation, LOL?). Most will say its a "sucker's rally" though. All it's going to take is for another quarter of contraction and the unemployment rate to tick up a few more notches (we went to 7. 9 from 7. 8) for the Dow to begin a free fall.

Chica prices should be in check because of the inflation though. If food prices and other staples in Colombia are going up, it means more people (mongers: both gringo and Colombian) will have less discretionary income to spend (on pros). I think you will be able to hold firm at 100k. The beautiful thing about Medellin is that there is no shortage of hot chicas one phone call away. It's 5k or less to send them home in a taxi if they won't play ball.

I agree 100% with you SavePros, gas here where I am went from $3. 59 to $3. 89 in the last week, sucks. I am totally out of the stock market at present, I am convinced it is about to tumble, what comes up must come down and the stock market is living proof and has had a tremendous run up. I jump in after a significant fall and get out after I make my pound of flesh and have been pretty successful using this theory.

I also agree in holding the line on chica prices, I was speaking to the general overall price creeping up, eventually enough girls will turn their noses away at 100k where 125 will be the bottom, it is just economics. Where I hang in Colombia I can get TLN for 100-120k but eventually I will have to throw a few more pesos for the same service, I am okay with that because the alternative in our country is $350 U.S. for an hour set on a stop watch with shitty service to boot.

I think it is due to inflation in general. Colombia has had steady inflation for quite a few years now. Just look at food prices in Colombia, anyone that has been going to Colombia for five years or more and has shopped for food staples and such will tell you that EVERYTHING in Colombia has risen in price not just the price of getting laid. Even in the USA, I know this isn't a fair comparison maybe but think of what you paid for gas a couple years ago in relation to what you paid for pu$$why a couple years ago.
