Worst case going a few nights without getting laid won't kill you. Or, you can go to a casa or strip club.
Me personally, I have never done neither because I enjoy the hunt just like anyone else. But I'm selective and bang less girls in a month then most of you in a week or a day! LOL. You hardcore "seasoned" mongers can keep your el centro while my pussy ass will stay where I'm familiar amongst people I know. Safety is always more important than pussy. This ain't USA or Europe. This is Colombia, la jungla baby!

Based on what everyone talks and posts about on here. You all need to be more selective. Interview interview interview. Only if you vibe with the Chica should you take her back for a spin. If there's no chemistry DO NOT take her back. Spending a few nights without a Chica won't kill you. And watch her like a hawk! Only after 2-3 times when trusts is established do you let your guard down with that Chica. This ain't Europe or the US. It's Colombia the jungle baby!
Or casas or strip clubs are options. Me like others I like to hunt. I've actually never been to a casa or strip club I'm Colombia. But I definitely keep low key and don't lease around central. All you "seasoned mongers" can have el centro. My pussy ass will stay with what I know and where it's safe amongst people I trust. I get way less action than most on this board but also much less headache.

After going through all the prompts she couldn't get it to register. Funny thing is one of the "you will be blocked" messages I get from Claro says to hit *611# Option 7-1-1 to register. But there is no option 7.
Also tried a random 9 digit number in case something's wrong with my passport. No luck there as well.
https://www.claro.com.co/personas/se...registra-imei/ under the prepaid lines tab. These instructions don't work either. *233# doesn't give me a menu where I can select option 2 as instructed.
That's the state of Colombian computer systems. Ugh.

Shake downs like this are common, often most by cops in vice, as security and police are often not required to show badges and the oversight is non existent, it is hard to identify non cops.
Usually the bait is either a GF of or partner in the scam, and usually its a turf thing, scammers from another area wouldn't dare enter some else's turf.
I am glad that you are safe and got out with minimal losses.
What is your advice to avoid such a scam in Colombia?

As for Villainy's statement "The reception didn't call the cops that isn't remotely possible. " How does he know that? Does he think there are no hotel employees who work with scammers?

I was held by some police in Brazil and once they realized my girl was of age and didn't have any convictions or unpaid fines they just let me go. It's a pretty nerve wracking experience that you don't forget. As many have said, even for girls with a cedula-if she looks younger than 18, don't even bother. Most women don't get really good at sex until their 20's anyways.

Posts: 159It's Official: Medellin is the New Costa Rica
It's Official: Medellin is the New Costa Rica.
This early October trip to Medellin was my sixth visit to that city, and it might be my last one for a while. The unfavorable changes to the Medellin Facebook scene in the past year, including price inflation, a high rate of cita flakery, and a decrease in certain aspects of the quality of service, have made it a less attractive and competitive destination. I tried a new approach after similar results on my last trip in July and decided to give Medellin a second chance, but it only succeeded in partially mitigating this deteriorating situation. I did have several good citas, but Bogota and Cali now look more attractive as relatively unspoiled alternatives to a scene that is increasingly reminding me of Costa Rica or Sosua. At this point, the only remaining advantages of the Medellin Facebook scene for me are the sheer numbers of girls and the greater availability of BBBJ and even BBFS, which are nonetheless strong selling points.
One change in my strategy was to stay in a better apartment. I used to stay in a relatively cheap and basic Poblado Rentals building. I decided to stay in the more upscale Provenza Lofts this time. The girls who had seen my previous apartment agreed unanimously that this unit was much nicer. The higher-quality lodging nonetheless had no discernible impact on either the quality of service that I received or the amount of time that they stayed after my leche. Indeed, I had better experiences at the cheaper and more modest place where I stayed before. Although I do hope to try the even more upscale Energy building in the future, I am not convinced that spending more money on a better place is a good investment. The only mongering advantage of Provenza Lofts (which is nonetheless a fine property and still good value for the money in purely real estate terms) was the 24/7 reception, which I wanted particularly for the overnight citas that I planned to do. I had also looked into staying in Laureles, in the hopes of reducing the girls' travel times and possibly their flake rates, but the San Peter building that seems to be the default choice there does not have jacuzzis.
I also revised my "anti-flake" strategies in response to the skyrocketing rate of Facebook cita flakery, but I still got similar results. I had been double-booking for cita time slots in the past, but even that often failed when both girls flaked on me. I tried triple-booking this time, but I only got similar or slightly better results. Not enough to put a serious dent in the problem.
Price inflation has been identified as a key driver of these increasing levels of flakery. In other words, girls will flake on one's cita if they get better offers from another guy. I found in practice that higher offers had no impact on the rate at which girls kept their appointments. Indeed, I found that the girls who accepted lower offers at or around historic prices were actually more likely to keep their appointments than those that pushed for inflationary prices. That may have been because those girls sticking to the historic price range were probably less desirable or in demand and thus had more motivation to keep whatever appointments they got.
If price inflation and high demand are causing this high rate of flakery, perhaps my slightly higher offers (50 k more than pre-COVID norms, but only if I felt that I could justify it in terms of price or service) were not high enough. I received many outrageous price quotes as high as 500 k COP and even 300 USD for short-time sessions. When girls start quoting prices in USD, it is time to go somewhere else. At such prices, I would be better off in Brazil, with equally good or better talent and much higher standards of service. Brazil's PCR test requirement deterred me from going there in the past year or so, but I see now that they accept antigen tests, which pose fewer complications.
Another change in my strategy was to do more repeats with girls that I have already seen before. Although all but one of my repeats actually showed up and delivered satisfying service, the results were not as good as they had been in the past, with a few notable exceptions. Indeed, one of my repeats, who had delivered two high-quality sessions in the past (one of which was as recent as July), was one of my biggest and most surprising disappointments. Her character seemed to have changed dramatically in the less than three months since I had last seen her, which highlighted to me the rapidity with which the Medellin Facebook scene is deteriorating. Many girls who stayed with me at length for post-leche GFE in the past seemed to have shifted to a "hit-it-and-quit-it" style of service, presumably in order to move on to another cita after mine. I was hoping for at least a modicum of loyalty for a repeat customer, but in some cases my faith was misplaced. I also do not want to rely too heavily on repeats just in order to get girls to show up. If I wanted the same pussy all the time, I would just get married. The only thing better than pussy is new pussy. That's one of the main reasons for mongering.
Over tourism, with an influx of newbie mongers, is clearly one of the main sources of this problem, but it is clearly having impacts on Medellin beyond mongering in general. For example, the guys selling soccer jerseys and other random stuff were more aggressive than they were even just a few months ago in July. They seemed to be offended that I did not want to buy their stuff, as if they were somehow entitled to a sale. Even the guys selling soda from carts in Centro asked for tips for selling me soda during my street meat runs and seemed offended when I disregarded their requests. This does not sound like the Medellin that I came to know and love; it is now more like over touristed places, such as Costa Rica and the Dominican Republic.
Medellin certainly does have alternatives to Facebook, such as casas, strip clubs, and Centro street meat. The quality of the talent and / or service is nonetheless also highly variable, and the pervasive CBJ culture is often a showstopper for me. Centro street meat runs are also sensitive to weather, as I learned the hard way that unusually rainy week. La Isla remains my go-to nighttime backup, but even that is suffering from newbie clowns "making it rain," even in USD (see my other post). More importantly, going to these in-person venues defeats the purpose of going to a city whose most remarkable mongering market is (or at least used to be) on the Internet. If I wanted to monger at in-person venues like these, I would be better off in Bogota or Cali, with lower prices, minimal gringo contamination, no Internet flakery, and more tits & ass.
I had originally planned to go to Bogota after the disappointment of my last trip. I decided to give Medellin a second chance because of reports of a slow market in Bogotá's Santa Fe red light district and with a new approach to Medellin Facebook, which clearly did not have much impact. It looks now like Santa Fe may be a bit livelier, and even Cali seems to be recovering from the worst of the riots this spring. My first visit to Cali last year was interrupted when all hell broke loose in March 2020 and I had to abort. I would like to give Cali another shot if it is returning to some semblance of normalcy.

You should probably Keep on staying out of Colombia for a bit.
You think you've made a new friend, maybe you have, or maybe you're being watched.
You're the opposite of keeping a low profile, which to me is a better tactic.
Anyway, to each their own.
Good luck, you seem like a good guy at heart.

Posts: 159This Is Why We Can't Have Nice Things
I had heard and read before this trip that an influx of newbies was responsible in large part for the deterioration of the Medellin scene, but it was not until last week that I saw it with my own eyes. I always travel solo and usually steer clear of other gringos (except when I stayed at the Mansion as a newbie, when the camaraderie was extremely helpful and supportive). My latest choice of lodging. Provenza Lofts. Exposed me to other gringos more than usual.
One of a group of three guys staying there saw the girls that I was having over when I came out to pay the hoes' taxis; he was on the front porch smoking a lot. Apparently they thought that my lineup was unbelievably smoking hot. They seemed to think that I was some sort of James Bond of mongering.
I explained to them that I thought that my lineup for this trip was actually sub-par by Medellin standards, or at least compared to my previous trips. They asked where I was finding girls, as they seemed to think that Parque Lleras, Gusto, and Tinder were the best places to look (facepalm). I warned them to avoid Lleras and Tinder girls for security reasons and to avoid Gusto for price reasons. They were vaguely aware of Facebook as a source of hoes and had no knowledge of typical / historical pricing there.
I ran into them again when I was catching my Uber to La Isla on my last Saturday night. They were aware of Fase II, but I explained to them that La Isla had the best talent in town. Lo and behold, they showed up at La Isla hours later.
You may have heard stories or seen videos of guys at La Isla "making it rain" in recent months. Apparently the La Isla staff encourages this practice by distributing stacks of 2 k bills to groups of guys spending large amounts of money. (But the bartenders give me dirty looks if I ask for small bills as change when I buy my Coke Zero and Gatorade). These guys were about to "make it rain" 2 k bills when I advised them against it, explaining its harmful effect on the market and girls' attitudes, expectations, and work ethic (if there even is such a thing among paisa hoes any more). I suggested instead that they use the 2 k bills more conservatively to fulfill the requests for tips by the girls circulating after their stage performances. Sticking bills into their g-strings or whatever they have on provides an opportunity to inspect the merchandise and "kick the tires," so to speak, by grabbing their asses and so on. I use this as an opportunity to scope out candidates for back room sessions.
Unfortunately there was another group of Middle Eastern-looking guys who decided to "make it rain" - and not in COP, but in USD (facepalm). This USD rain lasted an unusually long period of time, as they stretched it out in dribs and drabs, and it consumed the attention of about half of the girls in the club at the time. I had only had two sessions at the club by that point in the night and was still looking for a third, but I could not get it because the USD rain distracted so many of the girls, including a few of my candidates. The irony is that the girls probably could have made more money if they had tried to work for back room sessions with or at least get girlie drinks out of other guys, instead of chasing the small bills that these clowns were throwing around. And, as far as I could tell, these Middle Eastern-looking guys did not even try to fuck any of the girls.
Suffice is to say that my next Colombia trip will be to Bogota or Cali.
This is why we can't have nice things.

Posts: 1643This part got deleted I think by accident from the other post
I said I wasn't going to write any more about it but for some reason the meat of the post in the middle didn't show up in the other post so here it is, more detail and some of the nuts and bolts of what actually went on. Sorry about the repetition in the post if I try to fix it it fucks up the whole post up I can't do any better:
They found my Tussy and threw it on the middle of my bed.
They took my phone and kept looking at pictures I had in there and saying that a bunch of the girls were underage but none of them were.
I was in my underwear and I was able to sweep my pants over the Tussy when getting dressed and grab it with my hand at the same time and put it in the pocket all in one motion without them noticing and they just assumed one of the other cops took it as they were pilfering some of my stuff anyway. * I then went straight to the bathroom and flushed it.
One by one the cops all left the room until it was just one guy and me and when the Moment of Truth came for me to leave he asked me did I want to get out of it?
We spent about another half hour trying to work out the details with him calling a supervisor to get the okay for the deal. * he wanted to take my debit card and have me give him my password but I wouldn't do it, but he wouldn't let me leave on my own even though he had my passport and my phone.
He asked me how much would I pay and I said three million but he told me that wasn't enough. Then I started to sense that I had a little negotiating power because he seems a little bit nervous about getting caught.
I told him the maximum amount I could get out of an ATM was 2 million pesos at one time, even though I had gotten as much as four million in two withdrawals at the same time from Davienda, which is where we were going.
The plan he came up with was that I was going to go to the ATM, he would follow me, after my withdrawal he would walk up to me like we were friends in the street walk to a corner Park and then I was going to hand them over the money which is exactly what we did. When I handed over the money he returned my phone and passport to me.
Now here's where it started to get surreal. He started telling me that he liked me and that he wanted to be my friend. He said that I needed to pay more money the next day but that I only had to pay "from my heart" as a gift.
There's a lot more that went into it but I will cut to the quick and say the next morning I met him, he took me for a drive in his car and I gave him 1 million more.
He then proceeded to show me a bunch of photos of his family including his wife, mother, children and parents, I kid you not. * Then he took two selfies of he and I and asked me for my WhatsApp number which I gave him. * *We have been in touch briefly every day even though I'm back in the United States. He calls me his friend and tells me I now have police protection. * he told me if I ever get in trouble in the future I am to call him.
I also have been back in touch with the girl who says she was not part of it but they let her go the same night. * She says because when they looked her up in the computer it did show she was in fact 19.

Two days after the incident I was outside and I heard someone whistling me down and it was the investigator and he came over and started making small* talk with me like he was a good friend. * Then he proceeded to describe seeing me the day before and in detail the girl I was with as we were walking to dinner. * That gave me an uneasy feeling to say the least.
Thinking back I think the guy really does Jen really want to keep me as a contact in case he can get more money from me and believe it or not he likes having a gringo as a friend. I don't think he's planning on extorting me ever again but if I ever need him officially for help of course is going to cost me. And I do not mind that arrangement one bit.
And if this helps anyone else connected dots better than me he's not from Eddie and he's based in Bogota and he says he's part of a child pornography task force.
And I would like to thank Villainy for the moral support he gave me through a very difficult time.
And yes I probably would have beat the whole thing in court but that would have meant staying in Medellin for months past my Visa expiration, getting a lawyer, pay living expenses and the Policia knew this and that I was going to take the path of least resistance, pay my "fine" lick my wounds and move on.
And this last part will sound insane because I'm giving advice about this but it's something I've said before in the past. If you ever stuck in a legal situation in another country it doesn't matter where and you have the opportunity to get out short and quick always take that opportunity, do not ever prolong it, don't try to stand up for what is right it's misguided, you always end up paying more in the end.
Fortunately for me the money was trivial and believe it or not I think I've gained a valuable contact that may be worth it, although the way I got there could have been a little smoother, jajaja. Ostee Out and never give up, you have to Keep On Keepin On.
