I just read something yesterday about Medellin cracking down on the practice of prostitution outside of recognized areas. Don't ask me the intricacies of the law, I haven't bothered to research it. I believe they are just continuing the process of moving the practice away from Parque Lleras.

If I remember correctly, the enforcement effort comes with a 550 k peso fine.

This is all fallout from Colombia Jake. What did people expect?

Do you know if they are fining customers 550 k for picking up a prostitute in areas they shouldn't be?

Short answer: Yes, because it's a "best practice" for the obvious reasons. BUT. Having said that individual capacities vary greatly and, all my sorties to those Centro Clubs at night have been solo. If you don't get drunk or wasted and keep your situational awareness high and personal presence low-key (respectful, quiet and confident), there should be no problem. As the late great Pres. Reagan said "Trust but verify. " to which I would add in this case, "Relax & be happy with vigilance. ". Additionally, even the locals have the saying "Bad thins happen after midnight. " Basically, I take the Metro to Parque Barrio around 9-10 p and am usually out around 12 a. Never had an issue getting a taxi at that time (Metro closes around 11 p) and haven't felt any undue attention to my evident gringoness, LOL. Traveler's tip: In any large city when alone, it's good to know where you're going and move with purposeful speed along the route to the destination. Hesitancy or disorientation is a flag of opportunity for street-punks. At this point in my MDE experience, I am really digging those clubs on Calle Maricaibo.

To those in town who care to join us, we'll be having a party the night of the 4th. It looks like it should have a nice attendance from the ladies. Who really ever knows about these things, but our Halloween party had roughly 160 people, a slight majority female.

Got into my apartment on a Monday after my initial landing at MDE and heading off to camp out with some friends high up in the hills around Rio Negro. BTW, man. It can get chilly up there compared to town. It felt good to grab a hot shower and clean bed. After settling in and thinking I would simply chill out, I eventually succumbed to restlessness and headed to the Twin Sister clubs Executivo and the other one which are pretty much located next to each other up the street from the bus terminus and Metro, the behind the big hotel at Botero Plaza. It was about 9 p and being a Monday, Centro was less crowded than usual. The twin clubs were just barely getting into gear; girls to guys ration 8 to 1. In these clubs on an early Monday night there were only a couple of what I would call an 8+. These were grabbed quick by more determined punters; the race in this case is to the swift. There was a preponderance of 5-6's and a couple of 7+s. This is where I prefer clubs at this point. You can see something you like, watch it interact with others, engage and then determine if there is chemistry, which for me at my age is right up there with the physical attraction. I met this 25 yo chick (so she claimed) named Pamela. We had a drink (my choice) and this turned out to be a delightful session. Tuesday was full of work & social networking, etc. No time for play. When Wednesday came around I decided to go to a place around Laureles called Abbydos. On my last trip, I found a gem there named Andrea; a tall gorgeous brunette with long (wasted length) gorgeous curly black locks and fair skin. Again I must have been going to a different Colombia all these years than you guys. I have never had one with a stinky pussy and I hang out in places such as Santa Fe and de Greiff. I would also say Colombia is the place where 8 out of 10 nonpros that I have dealt with DON'T have kids. It is the exact inverse of Dominican Republic, Philippines, and Thailand. As far as lying and not honoring commitments, I have found the nonpros in Colombia to be some of the most reliable women on the planet. I don't know what level and kind of women you guys are meeting in Colombia. You should reconsider the pond where you fish. There's better to explore and there are fresher flowers to smell.

In 9 years of visits to Colombia, I might have experienced that just a couple of times, even including poor girls from streets of Medellin, who jump straight to the shower as soon as they see one.
And in the hot and humid weather of Cartagena, when I walk around Plaza del Reloy, when I smell anything unpleasant in the air it comes from some fat male tourist, not from the dolls.

It's not only Colombia, I'm guessing it's all the Central and South American countries. I think it's related to the climate, I. E. Hot weather. I ran into that some a few weeks ago in Costa Rica too. True that JjBee62 - I have been 30 before, I know what 40 feels like, now half way thru 50 and being in P4 P both in the US and Internationally my expectations and quality and selection of pretty girls is the highest it has ever been.
