I agree with you that it could be as long as year, but as was suggested by Nounce on the other board, perhaps people would be allowed in a Country if they were immediately tested for the virus before boarding a flight. In other words, as an example say at LAX there would be a remote parking lot with a testing facility, the test administered, and if negative they would be transported to the International terminal for departure and have a "certificate" of non-infection. I see this happening, besides a vaccine requirement as well if and when they develop one. I envision this being required by Countries for admission whether there are no new cases occurring or not in a Country. But suspect some will also have quarantine provisions as well. A system will be developed, but will be painfully slow so it's going to be a while before this gets all sorted out, so we are all in for a long wait.

If you don't mind I will give you my experiences with weed. To me weed a sex multipler & the pleasure you receive is really amped up, altered time and sensory perception are the two biggest effects, time for me slows down about 35 to 50%, for ex. Years ago I was supposed to be meeting some friends at Follies. I pulled into the parking lot and those mfs wanted $20 to park. Strongly disagree. Barring a vaccine, no new cases is a pipe dream. And many countries that rely so heavily on tourism cannot and will not wait a year or two.

You should shop around for banking options. There are many credit unions and even commercial banks that offer ATM fee rebate deals. I have one with a $5 minimum balance requirement for example. The Schwab deal that is popular on this site is really good if you have a brokerage account with them. What is not often mentioned is there is a waiting period to convert brokerage account balances to be accessible from ATMs. It's not a big deal but it means the ATM withdrawals aren't completely free. It's a nice deal for Schwab. Even if you pay ATM fees it doesn't add up to much unless you are making very frequent withdrawals. Something that is equally helpful are credit cards with no foreign transaction fees. You can earn points by using the credit cards for incidental expenses and use cash only when necessary, like with girls.

They may open the border by then but it may be limited only too Colombian citizens and residents and / or perhaps all, however I am sure there will be a mandatory quarantine period of at least two weeks, so this will have a severe impact on tourism and mongering. It's not good anyway you look at it, and remember that Colombia shut out it's own citizens back in March just as Russia has now done so I suspect it will open up in steps with citizens first and then foreigners later, however, this doesn't bode well for Americans being number one on the world now with cases. So the USA may be blackballed for a while. I know this isn't a rosy picture but is based on what the USA has done keeping countries out, first China followed by Europe, and other countries have followed suit. I am hedging my bet that Colombia might not open up until as late as Fall but hope I am wrong!

If your based in the US or can open an account with Schwab, they reimburse all ATM fees. Had a $24 ATM fee at Follies in Atlanta get reimbursed. Also exchange rate is what is posted that day & no foreign transaction fee. It's the bank of choice for mongers. Only ***** is it takes 48 hours to convert money from the brokerage to your checking.
