You may wish to check on that as I just spoke with the desk attendant yesterday and they've recently changed their policy to allow guests with a cover charge. There may have been some strings attached as far as past residence or full bookings.

It looked like "guys night out" because there were probably four times as many guys as ladies. The places where the ladies were hanging out Friday night, had all guys Saturday night. Sunday night, it was raining most of the night, so not much activity at all.

You hit that on the head. It's absolutely astounding. I'd heard so many good things about Medellin and all the Colombian girls from the states I've met have been beautiful that I assumed they'd be running rampant. I've been to the Parque about four nights since arriving in Medellin and there are very few females, period and no attractive ones who aren't working as bar / restaurant staff. There's so many men (thousands) that I can't even give a m / f percentage estimate, it's that far out of whack. However, this is not to say I haven't been having a great time as I met a hot, sweet babe at the go-to gringo place (Prefer not to mention, you all know it) who kept me busy for couple days. They are very easy to spot, and will make eye contact with you. Many of them didn't dress scantly partially due to the weather at night, but they will make sure that you notice them.

I'm not saying the Venezuelan you meet in Cartagena is rich and doesn't need the money. I'm just saying the vast majority of the hot Colombian chicas you meet with plastic surgery and expensive purses are not starving. They supplement their income fucking foreign men. In North America these women would be models, tv presenters, or club promoters. In Colombia they engage in "la puteria. ".

I have been going to Medelland since 2012 and not once have I met a chica who was not dressed well and did not have a cell phone. Most of the chicas I have met hook to buy themselves expensive clothes, accessories, iPhones, etc. Some have day jobs and can only visit me during the late evening. Most are in school and can only visit me on days they do not have class or late afternoon (although I am sure there are plenty that will skip class in order to make some pesos). I have yet to meet any chica who looked to me as if she had just rolled out from under her cardboard box off the street before coming to visit me.

Maybe it just me, but I have never met an extremely poor chica who is able to afford a data plan to be able to communicate daily with extrajernos. I would imagine that the streetwalkers would be the ones considered the poorest of the p4p bunch and may have to do it (hook) because they may not have a choice, but I doubt they would have money to spend on things like data plans, smart phones, and Colombian Cupid when they have mouths to feed.

In regards to Medellin, I can say with extreme confidence that at least 98% of the chicas I met are hooking because:

-It's legal for them to do so, so why not?

-It pays for tuition, books, etc.
